Guest ShooterJay Report post Posted July 26, 2002 From nwawrestling.com, the rankings for the World and Tag Team titles. 07.24.02 NWA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT DIVISION Champion: Ken Shamrock 01: Hotstuff Hernandez 02: Quinn Magnum 03: A.J. Styles 04: Dan Severn 05: Shin'ya Hashimoto 06: Johnny Moss 07: Spyder 08: David Young 09: Adam Jacobs 10: Steve DeMarco 11: Gary Steele 12: Magnum 13: Danny Doring 14: Beau Douglas 15: Jacey North NWA WORLD TAG TEAM DIVISION Champions: AJ Styles & Jerry Lynn 01: The Shane Twins 02: Backwoods Militia 03: Lost Boyz 04: Trailer Park Trash 05: East Coast Connection 06: Ohtani & Tanaka 07: Brickhouse & Brother Love 08: The Power Company 09: Instant Heat 10: John Noble & Robbie Ruffin 11: The Premier Players 12: Overkill & Big Machine 13: Venture & McAllister 14: The Cold Brothers 15: Roger Anderson & Chris Draven Uh huh, like ANY of these guys will ever see a title shot, or even an appearance in TNA, outside of David Young or the Shane Twins (the Johnsons.) Also, AJ Styles the #3 contender? Probably news to him. More proof than ever that the actual NWA governing body means absolutely squat, or anything more than a marketing tool for Jerry Jarrett. Don't get me wrong, I love this promotion (I'm probably the #2 mark behind bps) but I found this amusing.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted July 26, 2002 That is amusing. TNA does what they want. On that note...although Apolo hasn't actually shown any talent...I love the idea of a guy earning a title shot based on their won/loss record. oh man...some of those rankings are hilarious. Guest razazteca Report post Posted July 26, 2002 is Hotstuff Hernandez that good? is he still the North American champ or national champ or whatever they call the 2nd tier title? I've seen him in the Southwest region and there is really nothing to be impressed about. Hellrazor Hart was more entertaining than him.....but of course that was about a year ago. Back then the indy from Arlington had a Saturday morning show and better talent, while NWA Southwest was on late night on the weekend. as for the tag teams don't know much about them but one team that I remember from Southwest region was the Overboys, are they still around? Guest J*ingus Report post Posted July 26, 2002 The NWA's title scene has been a mess for years. The contendership is mostly a list of the various territorial champions. It really has nothing to do with NWA:TNA. Although I wouldn't mind seeing Shamrock defend the belt against Severn for that matter.
Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted July 26, 2002 So is the NWA TNA belt just the NWA belt now? How the hell did Danny Doring make the list? I like the guy...but come on...and I hope we're not subjected to Shamrock/Severn again...and where's Corino?! And the Shane Twins suck... on a happier note:) 14: The Cold Brothers Michigan represent! These guys are actually pretty damn good...kinda like the APA with agility
Guest DRAWMUH Report post Posted July 26, 2002 Lost Boyz could get a title shot. They worked a dark match vs. The BRiscoe Brothers. Lost Boyz definitely OWN
Guest ShooterJay Report post Posted July 26, 2002 How the hell did Danny Doring make the list? He's the NWA Florida champion, he actually beat Chris Daniels and Scoot Andrews for the belt.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted July 26, 2002 "Although I wouldn't mind seeing Shamrock defend the belt against Severn for that matter. " I agree completely. They have a perfect angle watining to be done. Severn was stripped of the NWA title because he couldn't commit to a title defense at the first show (well...that's what NWA says anyway...something tells me JJ was planning on restarting it anyway) But him showing up pissed that he never lost the title would be a great angle. The fact that it's Shamrock vs. Severn only makes it more interesting...and adds more noteriety to the belt both because it would be a pretty big match in some circles...and the angle plays up the importance of the belt. Guest Nezbyte Report post Posted July 26, 2002 So is the NWA TNA belt just the NWA belt now? No, it's the other way around.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted July 26, 2002 Actually...It's just the NWA belt. They don't call it the NWA TNA belt...they just call it the NWA title.
Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted July 29, 2002 They should call it the NWA TNA Undisputed belt...since the whole undisputed thing is so darn catchy
Guest 4Life Report post Posted July 29, 2002 Hotstuff Hernandez? Does anyone have any links on this guy? Post it please. bps?
Guest Nezbyte Report post Posted July 29, 2002 They should call it the NWA TNA Undisputed belt...since the whole undisputed thing is so darn catchy It's the NWA Worldheavyweight Championship Title. It has no connection to TNA, atleast not on the exclusive level. It's property of the NWA organation, NOT Jerry Jerrets.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted July 29, 2002 I don't know anything about Hernandez. And I think "Undisputed NWA TNA" thing was a mock of how stupid "Undisputed WWE Champion" sounds...why would the WWE dispute their own champion?
