Okay, this is on topic, and it's a gripe.

Over the course of the last few months we've seen sWo vs Eddy Mac. We've seen Silent vs Eddy Mac (exception for this case) and it's been IL vs Eddy Mac for a while also. I truly think that actually attacking Edwin without at least having him end up into kicking your ass is absurd. I mean, I did mark for Myers and I did mark for the sWo part... but really guys, he should be able to nearly kill you unless you get one cheap shot in. Or shoot him in the head, okay let's not wander into that area.

 

Don't get me wrong, I marked for Myers being back. I marked for the sWo and everything... but it just irks me that the SWF World Champ couldn't even kick some monster ass at least. No one in the JL with the exception of Silent because they're whole promo series should be taken as a threat. I'm not being a hypocrite here because with my promos I try to make Luchador threaten Edwin or attack his desk with a dull letter openining... or his replica, etc. It adds more supsense and, God forbid I ever have to face Edwin, it puts in more history. Save the action for the WF.

I have also been thinking this for a long time, i can see where people *might* think of the idea (Wrestling feds have a history of beating the commish/owner/whatever) but the difference here is the Edwin is active, he isn't retiered and most of all he's the friggin WF champ, he can kill the entire JL roster if he wanted to.

 

Anyway IL put it into words much better than i did.

Reading the segment, I realize that Myers asked me about the beatdown beforehand, and I said okay. Didn't think it'd look so huge, but oh well.

 

I really don't care too much what you do with Commissioner Edwin--in all honesty, he's a totally different character than the WF Edwin. With the exception of the Silent stuff, I basically ignore everything that happens in the JL when it comes to writing my WF character.

 

Soon enough I'll probably take the Edwin character out of the JL entirely, just because I'm doing way too much as an active wrestler to keep a focus on that stuff, and it does seem a bit odd to have Edwin sort of starring on every WF show AND every JL show. Like, jeez, when does he ever sleep? But we'll see about that.

 

In sum: do whatcha want to Edwin, but remember that he's active, and in storylines, preeeetty much the top guy in the fed. You end up getting pasted to the mat in your own blood if you're not careful and all.

I have a opinion but never mind as Edwin has already posted so I can't say just ask him what we should do...

 

I didn't write it but I think the beatdown was necessary to get a little shock value as everyone should have assumed that Matt was coming back to the sWo. If everybody thinks it was over the top then it is definitely gripe worthy, but Edwin is a different character from the commish as he said. Xero wupped his ass in a promo once and we had this same discussion. We'll all figure out how to write him soon I hope and then there won't be any problems.

EDIT: I think Edwin should post his idea of how his character should be protrayed. It really helped me get a feel for his character in my promos.
