Guest NaturalBornThriller4:20 Posted July 26, 2002 Report Posted July 26, 2002 My-Fantasy-Football-Draft-is-in-about-20-Minutes-and-I-have First-Pick.I'm-leaning-towards-Marshall-Faulk,Jeff-Garcia,or Kurt-Warner-as-my-top-draft-choices.Who-should-I choose? I'm-going-towards-Faulk.
Guest Kahran Ramsus Posted July 26, 2002 Report Posted July 26, 2002 Take Faulk. Unless he gets hurt, he will put up twice the numbers of the number two back. Don't even think of drafting a QB. There are too many good QBs you can get in the later rounds. Basically, take whoever you think will be the number one RB, or take Moss if you believe Tice that he will have 2500 yards and 18 TDs.
Guest Spaceman Spiff Posted July 26, 2002 Report Posted July 26, 2002 Take Faulk - he's a threat to get 100 yards receiving and rushing every game.
Guest NaturalBornThriller4:20 Posted July 26, 2002 Report Posted July 26, 2002 My-Championship-Team: QB:Donovan-Mcnabb WR:Terrell-Owens WR:Rod-Smith WR:Derrick-Mason RB:Marshall-Faulk RB:Edgerrin-James TE:Bubba-Franks Bench: Peyton-Manning Chad-Lewis Kerry-Collins Eddie-George Keyshawn-Johnson K:John-Hall Def: Tampa-Bay New-York(Giants)
Guest Kahran Ramsus Posted July 26, 2002 Report Posted July 26, 2002 How many teams do you have in your league? And dump Collins, he's useless, especially with Manning & McNabb in front of him. I would play Manning in front of McNabb if you are in a league where TD passes are worth 6 points.
Guest NaturalBornThriller4:20 Posted July 26, 2002 Report Posted July 26, 2002 4-Teams.I'm-still-trying-to-get-more Teams-to-sign-up. I-was-thinking-the-same-thing-about Collins.Dropped.
Guest Kahran Ramsus Posted July 26, 2002 Report Posted July 26, 2002 Good move. I wouldn't want Collins in a 10 team league.
Guest razazteca Posted July 26, 2002 Report Posted July 26, 2002 do you really need 2 TE drop one of them and pick up a WR
Guest Spaceman Spiff Posted July 26, 2002 Report Posted July 26, 2002 do you really need 2 TE drop one of them and pick up a WR Bye weeks. Unless you want to scramble around to find an available TE at the last minute.
Guest razazteca Posted July 26, 2002 Report Posted July 26, 2002 true but TE rarely put up big numbers, very few are the caliber of Tony Gonzales or Shannan Sharp putting up TDs every week during the good years. In my teams I just rough it, play with only one TE. I would be more worried about the RBs or WR getting injuried then playing without a TE. Both James and Faulk had injuries last season, I would look for a solid 4th RB just in case.
Guest Vern Gagne Posted July 27, 2002 Report Posted July 27, 2002 Why do you have your draft so early. Pre-Season hasn't even started and lots of things can happen. By chance someone might be injured and you just wasted a pick. Why not wait until about 2 weeks before the season starts and see who will be starting for teams.
Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Posted July 27, 2002 Report Posted July 27, 2002 Somebody needs to pick up that Dallas defense.
Guest razazteca Posted July 27, 2002 Report Posted July 27, 2002 Dallas defense does look good but it is early and you never know how Jerry Jones will screw it up during the season, since he likes to be hands on owner like Vince McMahon.....always wants to be the center of attention. Some of the players might be good additions to a fantasy team if individuals are played instead of a team. Especially Roy Williams or the free agents like Glover.
Guest alkeiper Posted July 28, 2002 Report Posted July 28, 2002 Verne, one reason for an early draft is that teams have to decide who they want before training camp, and then go from there. Guessing who gets playing time is part of the challenge.
Guest Vern Gagne Posted July 29, 2002 Report Posted July 29, 2002 I guess I'd rather wait and see who will get playing time. In my old league we had our draft 2 weeks before the season, it was just easier.
Guest The Man in Blak Posted July 29, 2002 Report Posted July 29, 2002 I think doing drafts before training camp is a great idea...but only if it's a keeper league. That way, you're almost guaranteed to have one solid guy (the franchise player) and you have more room to work with and improve. In terms of a single fantasy football season, there's far more opportunity to get totally burned if you draft before training camp.
Guest DrTom Posted July 30, 2002 Report Posted July 30, 2002 Most competitive (read: money) leagues do their draft after opening day rosters have been finalized, and any games missed during the first week are retroactively applied. The money baseball league I've been in for several years does this, as does the football league I finally got into this year. Our draft is Labor Day weekend.
Guest NaturalBornThriller4:20 Posted August 4, 2002 Report Posted August 4, 2002 My-Team-in-a-different-League: QB:Steve-McNair WR:Jerry-Rice WR:Chris-Chambers WR:Muhsin-Muhammad RB:Marshall-Faulk RB:Anthony-Thomas TE:Bubba-Franks Bench: Rich-Gannon Duece-McAllister Terry-Glenn Desmond-Clark K:John-Hall DEF:Baltimore Bench:DALLAS!!!!! Eh........okay-Team. I-missed-my-Fucking-Draft,you-won't-believe-some-off-the Players-I-passed-on-during-my-Picks.
