Guest The Camel Report post Posted July 27, 2002 So you're saying you looked like a major tool. (Cue laugh track) *chokes* That's great.
Guest DrEvil Report post Posted July 27, 2002 Where the hell was Felicity? I didn't expect the same fembot kill off from II, but they should have written her out somehow, just for continuity. The Goldmember character did nothing to make me laugh. His skin eating didn't have any gross out comedy value, his accent was just dumb, and his general way of being just didn't do anything for me. The ending sceen just sucked. Dr. Evil fighting for good??? I'm gonna have to change my name now. And Scott still isn't evil enough, he's the margarine of evil, the diet coke of evil, just one calorie, not evil enough, he's not going to cut it as the evil villian in #4. Overall though not a bad movie, good for a few laughs, but doesn't live up to the other two. BTW, The Spy who Shagged me is my favourite of the three. Guest C.H.U.D. Report post Posted July 28, 2002 I enjoyed the first Austin Powers and I hated the second. I didn't want to see Goldmember, but I ended up enjoying it a lot. It redeemed the series after the lame Spy Who Shagged Me. The rap sequence was funny. I was glad to see him make fun of dumbass white boys who wear those idiotic headbands. Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted July 28, 2002 Man...I don't mean this to sound bad...but it's about the only way I can say it. I couldn't hear any of the hard knock life thing cause the black people sitting behind me were laughing too hard...so I really didn't get to hear any of their lyrics
Guest Insanityman Report post Posted July 28, 2002 I'm a huge Myers mark, but a bigger Austin Powers mark. I thought this movie was great for laughs but for the storyline it sucked. I always loved the first and second but I prefer to watch the first. The beginning (very beginning) had me nearly pissing my pants. I was disappointed at no trippy interludes things but hey, what can you do? Overall good stuff, but keep in mind I have a wide range of humor... and I'm 13. Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted July 28, 2002 THIS FUCKING ROOL'D!!!!!!!! MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH MUUUUUUCH better than the second one! I mean, sure it had a few jokes that totally bombed, but that Jay Z skit, OH FUCK~! I think the revelation that Dr Evil is Austins brother killed the crowd, cause we were all silent for the rest of it. But there were definitely half a dozen pop-outta-your-seat-jump-up-and-start-acting-like-your-in-the-audience-of-comic-view. OH SNAP! Foxy was just 'there', but was easy on the eyes so I didn't mind. She kept saying the same thing over and over and over again sugar. Spike Dudley has NOTHING on Mini Me. BUMP MAH SHEEN! This was the funniest of the Series IMO but not the best (if that makes sense for a comedy). The lack of story didn't really hurt it because it was total tongue-in-cheek, rather than just capitalizing on the success of the first one like the second one did. This was more of a parody of the second one and an homage to the first.

I mean, sure it had a few jokes that totally bombed, but that Jay Z skit, OH FUCK~! I was on the floor when they really started to parody rap videos. What would have done it for me though was if Fred Savage did a Wonder Years-esque inner monologue with Daniel Stern saying 'A mole? On my face? He's got to be kidding me. You know, a lot of things changed on that day, a boys innocence *cue the byrds 'turn turn turn'* I never forgot what he said to me-' "MOLEYMOLEYMOLEY!" Guest bob_barron Report post Posted July 28, 2002 I LOVED how Goldmember kicked Foxy in the face like 2000 times
Guest Dmann2000 Report post Posted July 28, 2002 I liked Goldmember fine, don't mind Austin and Evil being bros. I think the fourth one should have Scott team up with Dr. Evil's former professor of evil, played by none other than....Sean Connery Then they kidnap Evil and Mini Me, who've become Hollywood producers. So you have Austin and Nigel trying to rescue Evil, while him and Mini Me are tryingto escape, cause having those two together onscreen is just hi-frickin-larious. Guest bob_barron Report post Posted July 28, 2002 I say Scott and new villain try to take over the world and Austin and Evil try to stop him. But- a lot of what was cool about AP1 was the fish out of water stuff. So this time Dr. Evil is trying to learn to be good. It would be hilarious.

Guest Black Lushus Report post Posted July 29, 2002 this was yet another funny Austin Powers movie, but really the whole schtick is starting to get old...hopefully they let it end here and don't ruin it by making yet another AP movie...
Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted July 29, 2002 Dixie Normous got a HUGE POP at the theatre. I don't think I have ever saw a movie that got THAT many laughs before. The psychology in the Foxy/Goldmember match was just HORRIBLE! C'mon woman! He does it to you a dozen times! The Female leads role in each movie gets smaller and smaller and they get dumber and dumber. Vanessa had a HUGE role in the first, Felicity was smaller but still pretty big, and Foxy was just like SHAZAAM BABY!

Guest cabbageboy Report post Posted July 29, 2002 I agree with most of the posts here....this one was certainly better than the ill conceived II, but not as good as the original. The opening scene was so crazy it really reminded me of Hellzapoppin but not quite that insane. Goldmember was a weak character but at least he didn't do much. Heh, we know now that Dr. Evil wasn't Austin's father....he's his brother. No one has mentioned a line that just cracked me up for some reason. After Goldmember revealed his dick was the key, Michael Caine said "only a bloody Dutchman...." and I just cracked up. I was the only one though.

Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted July 29, 2002 That right Bob...we've been over this now... What was with his dad's hatred of the Dutch...it was non stop. With the way the Dr Evil character acts he could very well do another heel turn within the first 5 minutes of #4...so who knows.
Guest bob_barron Report post Posted July 29, 2002 Austin's dads hatred of the Dutch was a homage to Myers's father who hated the Hawaiians for killing Cptn. Cook

Guest KANE Report post Posted July 29, 2002 "Goldmember" surpassed my expectations by leaps and bounds. I also am in the minority that liked the Goldmember character. Where else can you hear Dr. Evil say that he enjoys Kristal?
Guest GeneMean Report post Posted July 30, 2002 I thought Goldmember eating his skin was more gross than funny, but then remember Austin drank shit in II. The opening scene was simply too good to be true. I can't believe I didn't get spoiled on it sooner. I was disappointed that Felicity wasn't written out on screen. I had a feeling they would've fem-botted her out, maybe make it a running gag in all the films or something. But come on Dr. Evil finally got sharks with freakin' laser beams on their heads! How cool is that!?!
Guest imajackoff? Report post Posted July 30, 2002 AP1 doesnt do much for me. AP2 is hilarious. AP3 is the worst of the bunch. Turning Dr. Evil babyface was LAME.
