I know a thread like this was done for opening songs for PPV's but im talking about the video clips before the main event or match.

 

 

My favorites:

 

-Austin vs Rock @ WM: My fave right now, it made "My Way" sound good.

 

-HHH vs Cactus Jack @ RR 2000.

 

-HHH vs Cactus Jack @ No Way Out 2000.

 

-The double Undisputed Title matches @ Vengence.

Just to mention a WCW video package I'd like to say Starrcade 97 had a pretty damn cool opening video with Sting and Hogan, not the best but pretty damn cool.

 

Wrestlemania this year had an excellent opening video package that I'm surprised isn't talked about more.

 

 

I really liked the opening video for Mind Games 96 with HBK, Mankind and that scary looking laughing skull

I really can't remember too many but video packaging rules! A shitty match can look like a million bucks with some over dramatized music and clips of commentary. The slo-mo and sound effects added in rule.

 

I love how the WWE hypes any PPV match and puts time and effort into promoting it with those. Even weekly recaps of a major storyline that has been going on are nicely done.

 

The most recent that comes to mind was the Hardy/Taker package hyping the ladder match. Got me excited.

I really liked the Backlash 2001 one because of its simplicity. No sound bites from JR, no audio clips from interviews, just one announcer's voice over classical music as he read these simple lines:

"He who has the power

Has the gold.

Know gold,

Know power.

 

In the end, some may have the gold...

but who will have the power?"

 

Simple but awesome, IMO.

this is slightly off-topic, but have you guys noticed that in the opening 'raw' video package there's footage of 2 girls making out? it's there for no reason whatsoever, and i crack up whenever i see it.

Mine would have to be from WCW and SuperBrawl 91 with the Sting/Luger vs. Steiners classic. The music and the video clips were just done perfectly and I literally get chills everytime I watch that match.

I vote for the vid before the Six Pack Match at Unforgiven 1999. The one with "Edgecrusher" & "Timelessness" by Fear Factory and "Sugar" by System Of A Down. Man that video fuckung rules! I love it.

I am serious Mr. Barron. True it does feature a lot of Triple H kicking ass and Stone Cold Steve Austin kicking ass too but I really like it. The clips are good and the music is too. I particually like the last bit set to "Sugar" by System Of A Down. I like your sig though

Hey man, I understand. Being British myself I wanted Bulldog to get a fair crack at the title too. It's just a shame after his match with The Rock at No Mercy that he was jobbed out. Oh well, at least he managed to whack Stephanie with that bin at Rebellion '99 (UK PPV).

Did Kane & The Undertaker vs. Kronik have a video package? Hell, i sightly remember one, but im not sure. If it did, it was sure as hell better than the match.

 

The best one ive seen was the Invasion one for the Inagrural Brawl, great great video!
