Guest Downhome Report post Posted July 27, 2002 Don't get me wrong, I am VERY much into WWE right now with the whole GM/who's signing with who/trade thing, but I don't think they need to keep it up week after week, and I hope that's what they realize. I'm ok with it for now, and this past week as they have changed things up and it's looking great. I don't care if they continue to keep it up untill Summerslam either, if anything it will create intrigue for the PPV, but it needs to slow down sometime. Over time, if they keep doing it, it will just get old and the fans will tire of it. If anything, I'd annouce when each wrestler has their "contract" run out, and then they can do a bidding war and whatnot for them. Either way, they need to make it so guys can't just jump whenever the hell they want, there is no point in that at all. Like I said... ...I'm ok with it, and LOVE it right now, but it needs to slow down by Summerslam, and then after that, they need to REALLY make the two shows that much more seperate, and go off in seperate dirrections. Perhaps only mentioning the other company in the ways WCW/WWF used to in THEIR ratings war. That is what I want to see, and I hope they do as well. Sincerely, ...Downhome... Guest DJ Jeff Report post Posted July 27, 2002 I agree, I do like this whole trade thing, but it does need to slow down sometime soon. I like the idea of letting everyone know when each superstar's contract runs out, and having a bidding war. That would make things interesting to see. Also, if they announced that a superstar is going to sign with the WWE, both Bischoff and Stephanie McMahon should have a bidding war to see which show gets that superstar. They could do something similar with the titles, and I'll explain that in another thread.
Guest The Electrifyer Report post Posted July 27, 2002 I think this SD! vs. Raw GM thing will die down soon. It seems to just be the WWE's major angle right now, so in a couple months or weeks, Eric will focus on Raw only and Steph will focus on SD! only. I like the GM feuding angle right now very much, but after a while, I hope and think that the GMs will only be on there own shows. In a few months, I'd like it to be that if you see Eric on SD! or Steph on Raw, it wont be a regular occurance, but instead a special event.
Guest undisputedjericho Report post Posted July 27, 2002 I just hope it doesn't become like when every single WWF guy would jump to WCW/ECW just for the sake of being a heel. Christian, Regal, Test, Angle, all really pointless turns in their own rights. The only heel that didn't jump was Jericho, though it was teased (At a SmackDown! I was at he helped attack Rock with Booker during a match between the two, then RVD came out and gave the 5* to Booker for whatever reason escapes me) Anyway, I realize its the hottest thing going now and at the moment I'm enjoying it, I just hope they don't go over the top with it. Guest DJ Jeff Report post Posted July 27, 2002 I'm going to say that the whole trade thing will die down at SummerSlam, when the ultimate trade happens. What is the ultimate trade you ask? Well, I don't really know, but it could be a big name from RAW(maybe the Undertaker) for a big name from Smackdown(maybe the Rock), along with a free agent for both shows(Steiner and maybe Goldberg). Okay, I'm wouldn't be too crazy about seeing Goldberg in the WWE, but that's the only superstar I can think of. Anyways, depending on who was heel, and who was face, would determine who went on what show. The heel would more than likely go on RAW since the Rock would be going there, and the face to Smackdown, since the Undertaker would be going there. Anyways, that's how I think the trade thing will die down. After that, superstars could be able to sign with the other show when their contract expires, which would result in a bidding war between Bischoff and Stephanie McMahon. Guest Brian Report post Posted July 27, 2002 They just need to make opposing titles to spite each other, a singles title for SmackDown and a tag for RAW once they start to focus on individual products.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted July 27, 2002 You know what they need? PRESS CONFERENCES! Not in the ring, but at Titan or whatever generic 'professional' setting they could use. Have like rumours of a multi-man trade going on and shite. I dunno, I am just a mark for professionalism in wrestling.
