Guest Insanityman

(Emptiness. Within the vacated Gund Area a man stands inside the still assembled ring. Though majority of the equipment is packed up and ready to head towards its next destination, the ring still stands. The seats all empty and the lights provide for a dim area. The man is Insane Luchador, the self-dubbed True Plague, and he stands there his spiked hair a mess, clothes wrinkled, and his eyes bloodshot. His hand is rubbing the back of his neck from taking the chair shot as he is warped into another dimension with his thoughts. He ponders, as he still stands in the same spot barely moving, barely breathing).

He soon breaks from the position and his hand slides down the back of his neck and it moves to his shoulder where he gingerly rubs it and he sighs. He takes a few struts forwards and bounces into the ropes as he comes near the middle he rolls and leaps up shattering the air with a dropkick, and shattering the silence with a loud thud as he lands. He stands back up shaking his head in despair and he runs towards the ropes again. As he bounces back he dives down into a roll and then pops back up leaping into the air executing a dropkick as he hits with the same thud. Insane Luchador grins slightly as he gained more air that time and he soon thinks recalling Edwin’s words.

”Rickmen, your not a threat. At all. I’ve never been scared of you, I’ve been creeped out by some of your stunts but basically, you’ve never even made me uneasy.” ”Rickmen, your not a threat. At all. I’ve never been scared of you, I’ve been creeped out by some of your stunts but basically, you’ve never even made me uneasy.”

Luchador takes an in-ward sigh and he pauses long enough to remember the next few set of jeers towards him.

“I KNOW you need this job. Rickmen, you are nothing then a nuisance! I’ve been giving you shot after shot so you’d get out of my hair, goddamn it Andrew you’re a Plague when it comes to a pain in the ass! How is it possible for you to crack under so many shots, eh?”

The truth, nothing but the cold, depressing truth… he has lost track of all the shots he’s had recently. A smirk crawls across his face. Yet I have another shot. He thinks to himself and a pity laugh emits from his mouth. Another shot to lose… I mean even if I edge a win over Mak, Silent or CIA? Christ… I’m fighting a losing battle. He continues to reflect. His hand reaches towards the slightly green cut as it stings when he touches it. Luchador winces and then he opens his eyes as he mind shoots back to a memory.

In the Easton Vets Stadium a young, nearly 13, Andrew Rickmen sits in his seat, hot popcorn in his lap. Next to him was a good looking and stocky older brother who rolled his eyes as Andrew rants about how cool wrestling is. With decent seats Andrew looks over to his brother and considers what to say. He then chooses the right words and he looked up at his brother (who stole a handful of the buttery popcorn), “I think I want to become a wrestler.”

“Your gay?” His brother asks as he nearly chokes on popcorn laughing and he notices Andrew’s face fall so he pats him on the shoulder. “Kidding dude, I just don’t like this stuff.” He says swiping his hand towards the ring as a wrestler gets crushed through a table.

”What if I do become a wrestler?” Andrew asks edgy.

“I don’t know… but you when you win the World Title you damn well better dedicate it to me.” Another handful of light and fluff popcorn, and he looks down at his slouching younger brother and he slowly talks to him, “Do whatever you want man.”

Luchador feels a sudden rush of energy, the kind of feeling that used to surge through his body every time he stepped out onto the metallic ramp and he heard cheers for him. He grins and he stalks towards the turnbuckle as he hops onto it. He realized his motivation towards grasping that prestigious world title, his brother’s request. He stands up and puts his arms in the air and suddenly he hears a choir of cheers. His mind floods with the image of his leaping off the top rope and hitting someone with a moonsault. He snaps back into reality again and realizes he hasn’t heard the cheers forever. He runs a hand through his spiked hair and without realizing it his hand had reached his aching right shoulder.

Am I really that much of a monster? He asks himself. He slowly goes to nod his head yes but finds himself shaking no. He grunts out in anger as he collapses onto the turnbuckle on his bum as he lands hard sitting down his head hung low and holstered up by his propped elbows. Ignoring the fact that his lower body is stung by pain (and he nearly broke his tailbone) he asks himself the question he’d be ignoring all the time.

Who am I?

I am The True Pla- No, I am Insane Luchador.

That has to be one of the best promo parts that i've read in a long time.

Fab stuff IL, one of the most in depth characters in the JL.
