Guest Karnage Report post Posted July 27, 2002 Which shows you feel are overplayed on TV? Simpsons is on 4-5 times a day for me but I don't mind. Becoming on Much is really pissing me off, they show the same episode for about a week 2-3 times a day. Technically, they are showing the same episode everyday for 2-3 times since its the same concept for every episode. Friends is also on TV a lot. And this isn't really a show but TBS kills some movies with the amount of playtime some get. Like Austin Powers and Rush Hour.
Guest Ravenbomb Report post Posted July 27, 2002 didn't Wings used to be on like 10 times a day on 2 different channels or something?

Guest jimmy no nose Report post Posted July 27, 2002 didn't Wings used to be on like 10 times a day on 2 different channels or something? Yeah, that was so annoying. That show is very strange, because it was on for so long, yet everyone I know hates it.
Guest Your Olympic Hero1 Report post Posted July 27, 2002 I fucking loved Wings. It used to be on USA Network twice a day up until last year.
Guest Kinetic Report post Posted July 27, 2002 I love both "The Simpsons" and "Seinfeld," but the repetition in the episodes my local channels choose to show is terrible. I swear to god, if I see the episode where Krusty becomes an edgy adult comic only to sell out at the end one more time, I'm going to hurt someone. And it'll probably be me. Guest Daredevil21 Report post Posted July 27, 2002 Simpsons is on 4-5 times a day for me but I don't mind. God, I hate you. I would kill to see it that many times a day. You can simply never watch too much Simpsons. We actually get it here four times a day, but two of them go head-to-head, which sort of cancels one out, although it is nice to able to flip to another channel if I'm not crazy about a particular episode. The other one follows, but the last one is on at 11 P.M. which is a pain in the ass during the school year, since I TRY to go to sleep at a reasonable hour, but usually don't since it's on at that time and to me, Homer>Sleep. didn't Wings used to be on like 10 times a day on 2 different channels or something? Sure seemed like it. Actually, Jerry Seinfeld used that in his opening monologue on SNL a couple years ago. Basically he described his day, which consisted of doing a task, then watching Wings. I love both "The Simpsons" and "Seinfeld," but the repetition in the episodes my local channels choose to show is terrible. I swear to god, if I see the episode where Krusty becomes an edgy adult comic only to sell out at the end one more time, I'm going to hurt someone. And it'll probably be me. Amen to that. I swear to God, it's like my local channel doesn't own a certain bunch of episodes, because I swear to God they haven't consistently shown the middle seasons of the Simpsons in I don't know how long. They either show the first and second seasons, then they fucking jump to the past few or so. With Seinfeld, I'm lucky, cause I feel like I get to see all of them for the most part on my local channel. Anyway, getting back to the original question, fucking Friends is played here on I swear to God at least three channels, 10 times a day, and I don't think I'm exaggerating here. I never really got in to it, but dammit, it's on so much everywhere, that I've finally given in and started watching occassionally, which is much more than usually. I still don't see what's so great about it, though. A LOT of the jokes are pretty dull and uninspired, IMO, but to each his own.
Guest MillenniumMan831 Report post Posted July 28, 2002 You can never have too much Seinfeld. Cleveland gets it 2 times a day (M-Sat). Wood Jerry . . . . . . Wood!!!
Guest The Electrifyer Report post Posted July 28, 2002 I get a lot of Simpsons, Seinfield, Becoming, like you all said, but I also get a lot of Everybody Loves Raymond and Frasier. Frasier, I don't watch, but Everybody Loves Rayomond rules! I don't usually catch the new ones cuz of Raw, but watching the syndications are pretty damn good. My only complaint about watching the same show twice or more in one day is that most of the times, they show the same damn episode.

Guest razazteca Report post Posted July 28, 2002 Saturday Night Live has 8 episodes a day on Comedy Central and I have seen nearly all of them then there is the 70s season on E!
Guest IDrinkRatsMilk Report post Posted July 28, 2002 Simpsons in syndication definitely has a problem with repetition, one time they showed the episode where Shelbyville steals the lemon tree every day for about two weeks... not so much how many times they show it, but I think the most oversaturated show in general was South Park
Guest Shaved Bear Report post Posted July 28, 2002 i only get the simpsons 1 time a day and here is the lineup for the 6-8 block 6: Just SHoot Me 6:30:Drew Carey 7 Simpsons 7:30 Seinfeld why not make it all simpsons, the rest of those shows suck hard (well in syndication)
Guest redbaron51 Report post Posted July 28, 2002 Simpsons are highly over played I think 5 times a day and sometimes the same episode will be on on the same day. Seinfeld is only on once a day, same with friends, frasier is with the exception on Thursday I think. Becoming and everything on Muchmusic is overplayed especially the music. Guest Karnage Report post Posted July 29, 2002 Becoming and everything on Muchmusic is overplayed especially the music. I don't see why Much needs to air Becoming when MTV can show it.

Drew Carey is extremely mediocre, but Just Shoot Me is great and Seinfeld is a classic show that will go down as one of the greatest TV comedy shows of all time. Some people just don't appreciate the more mature and sophisticated humor that it presents, which they respond to by bashing the hell out of it, defending a show like Friends in the same breath. Yeah, I know that's a bit of a double standard, but too much of the humor of Friends is just kinda there, and is pretty average. Seinfeld is a truly unique comedy that makes you think a little to get the full humor of each situation. Some of you may pull the "I'm not watching TV to think," bit, but I think watching shows that just only present obvious humor get dull and uninteresting to watch. With shows like Seinfeld and the Simpsons, you can find something else that's funny with each viewing. Not too many shows possess that rare quality.
