Guest yomama Posted July 27, 2002 Report Posted July 27, 2002 HHH turns 33 today (born on July 27, 1969). 28-32 is prime, 33+ you decline (exceptions to this rule are major injuries, a major disease, or drugs). HHH is a steroid abuser, and his prime ended because of it at the age of 32 (a year before it should have). Today HHH does not turn past his prime, but he turns an old man. He is not OLD OLD, but he is old. Now you can add HHH to the old list with the likes of Undertaker, Benoit, Nash, Booker T, etc.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted July 27, 2002 Report Posted July 27, 2002 DO NOT... I REPEAT DO NOT... ADD HHH to any list that Benoit is on.
Guest HartFan86 Posted July 27, 2002 Report Posted July 27, 2002 33? Wow. It was yesterday JR was building him up as a 28 year old stud.
Guest gthureson Posted July 27, 2002 Report Posted July 27, 2002 I am assuming yomama is less than 28 years old. I, however, am 29 years old. Pretty much in the heart of my physical, mental peak. The pinnacle, so to speak. I, in my heightened 'prime' mental state say that you, yomama, make absolutely no sense and your entire *prime* theory is a complete and utter load. There is no way you can argue with me on this, I am in my prime, you are not. Thank you.
Guest HollywoodSpikeJenkins Posted July 27, 2002 Report Posted July 27, 2002 28-32 is prime, 33+ you decline (exceptions to this rule are major injuries, a major disease, or drugs). Thats not true. I HATE fucking people who say shit about prime. Benoit = God. No matter HOW OLD HE FUCKING IS. If you believe in that prime age shit, THEN YOUR A FUCKING DUMBASS.
Guest yomama Posted July 27, 2002 Report Posted July 27, 2002 >There is no way you can argue with me on this, I am in my prime, you are not. You are right, I haven't reached my prime yet (I'm 19). 9 more years to go for me. Before you disagreed with the prime rule (28-32 is prime, 33+ you decline), but then you said that you are in your prime (which you are, you are 29).
Guest yomama Posted July 27, 2002 Report Posted July 27, 2002 Benoit is still great, but he is past his prime (slightly past it at the age of 35).
Guest gthureson Posted July 27, 2002 Report Posted July 27, 2002 Yes, nice little circular argument, isn't it?
Guest HollywoodSpikeJenkins Posted July 27, 2002 Report Posted July 27, 2002 Yomama....Im gonna kick you in the face. That Prime Rule = DOESNT FUCKING EXIST
Guest yomama Posted July 27, 2002 Report Posted July 27, 2002 The prime rule does exist. 28-32 is when you are at your best, 33+ you decline. Why do you think it does not exist?
Guest HollywoodSpikeJenkins Posted July 27, 2002 Report Posted July 27, 2002 Because Benoit and Flair are so called "past their prime" but they put on fucking **** matches. CAN YOU PUT ON A FUCKING 4 STAR MATCH? I didnt Think So
Guest yomama Posted July 27, 2002 Report Posted July 27, 2002 Flair is no longer putting on 4 star matches. Flair is far past his prime. Benoit is only slightly past his prime, and the quality of his matches have only gone slightly down since his prime.
Guest Mindless_Aggression Posted July 27, 2002 Report Posted July 27, 2002 I think everyones "Prime" is different for them. Flair didn't start having mind blowingly good matches till he was almost 40. Benoit on the other hand is past his best, but is still better than most.
Guest HollywoodSpikeJenkins Posted July 27, 2002 Report Posted July 27, 2002 Flair put on a **** match with Austin the Raw before he Austin left. And his WM match with Taker was pretty good.
Guest yomama Posted July 27, 2002 Report Posted July 27, 2002 Flair had plenty of great matches before 40. 33+ you decline, the pace varies. Flair declined at a very slow pace from 33 to his mid 40s, then he declined at a faster pace.
Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Posted July 27, 2002 Report Posted July 27, 2002 The pinnacle, so to speak. Who called me?
Guest yomama Posted July 27, 2002 Report Posted July 27, 2002 >Flair put on a **** match with Austin the Raw before he Austin left. It was more like *** 1/2 stars.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted July 27, 2002 Report Posted July 27, 2002 I don't think it was even that good.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Posted July 27, 2002 Report Posted July 27, 2002 Well how about this... Make a big list of wrestlers who are +30 and see where their 'prime' period was.
Guest evenflowDDT Posted July 27, 2002 Report Posted July 27, 2002 This discussion never gets old. Nope. What discussion? The prime discussion? I guess it's true to a degree, but just because someone's not "in their prime" doesn't mean they're not enjoyable in the ring, and just because someone's "in their prime" doesn't make them a good wrestler. Hell, prime or not, Hogan's NEVER been a good wrestler, by anyone's standards (except maybe his own).
Guest yomama Posted July 27, 2002 Report Posted July 27, 2002 >Make a big list of wrestlers who are +30 and see where their 'prime' period was. You mean 33+
Guest Kid Kablam Posted July 27, 2002 Report Posted July 27, 2002 Benoit may be past his prime, but that just means he can't do sick bumps quite as much. If Benoit has proven anything, it's that he can survive and exist in any environment, be it Japan, WCW, or WWF. Benoit will continue to light up the ring, and I don't care what you say, Benoit is not on the list of "Old Men." Flair only joined that list about 5 years ago, and Benoit will join around the same age. Okay, slight hyperbole, but you get the point.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Posted July 27, 2002 Report Posted July 27, 2002 I said 30+ because what if someones prime was at 32? Wasn't foleys?
Guest yomama Posted July 27, 2002 Report Posted July 27, 2002 >Benoit is not on the list of "Old Men." Yes he is. 33+ is old (and past prime). Benoit is 35. Benoit isn't OLD OLD, but he is old >Flair only joined that list about 5 years ago Actually Flair joined that list 20 years ago when he was 33
Guest Shaved Bear Posted July 27, 2002 Report Posted July 27, 2002 Benoit is still better than the entire roster in his old age, he should never retire
Guest RavishingRickRudo Posted July 27, 2002 Report Posted July 27, 2002 Isn't a wrestlers prime a reflective sort of thing? If a wrestler had his best matches at the age of 35, then wouldn't that be his prime?
Guest yomama Posted July 27, 2002 Report Posted July 27, 2002 >I said 30+ because what if someones prime was at 32? What you meant was to list wrestlers past their prime (33+) and list the years that was their prime period
Guest thebigjig Posted July 27, 2002 Report Posted July 27, 2002 Haven't we discussed this "prime" thing before? It's kind of annoying. A wrestler in his prime as opposed to a wrestler past his prime is a really pointless topic, because it really just depends on the wrestler. Flair was past his prime when he had the greatest match of all time with Steamboat. Austin I believe was past his prime last year (correct me if I'm wrong... I'm too lazy to look up his age) when he had the best run of **** matches since Flair in 89 And on a related note, I'm pretty sure Muhammad Ali was past his prime when he defeated Joe Frasier in their 3rd and final match which is considered to be one of the greatest boxing matches of our time and is the main reason why he's in the shape he's in today
