Guest bob_barron Posted July 27, 2002 Report Posted July 27, 2002 As many of you remember, on the last WCW Nitro William Regal appeared in a skit with Vince where he proceeded to diss WCW and mock it pissing off Tony Schivaone. I'm sure some WCWers were prob pissed off Fast forward to RAW is Ow My Quad!! On that show Regal lost the Euro title to (cries) Jeff Hardy. Now Jeff pinned him thanks to a fast count and also used closed fists. Who was the ref?? Charles Robinson- A former WCW referee. Hmmmmmmm Then Sunday at Vengeance Regal faced Jeff Hardy again. Jeff rolled him up and won with what even the torch called a fast count. Who was the ref?? Nick Patrick. Now I think these WCW refs are getting back at Regal for dissing the product. It's a conspiracy I tell ya- and it must be stopped! Regal is God.
Guest The Man in Blak Posted July 27, 2002 Report Posted July 27, 2002 I thought the popular conspiracy theory about Regal was how he was still employed?
Guest bob_barron Posted July 27, 2002 Report Posted July 27, 2002 I admit- that was a good diss. Regal is God- He has the best music, finishing move, reptile collection and wave in wrestling
Guest J*ingus Posted July 27, 2002 Report Posted July 27, 2002 Regal used to be one of the best wrestlers in the world. Whether he is now or not, who knows, the WW(F)E won't let him work the way he used to, despite the fact that he got over with the old way, and is not getting over doing it "WWE Style". Gee, that sounds familiar COUGHtazzawesometajirifunakinoblebookerCOUGH.
Guest AlwaysPissedOff Posted July 27, 2002 Report Posted July 27, 2002 I thought the popular conspiracy theory about Regal was how he was still employed? LOL!
Guest The Man in Blak Posted July 27, 2002 Report Posted July 27, 2002 In all seriousness, I really dig Regal as a role player. He is the ultimate midcard heel and he's got all the in-ring mannerisms and facial expressions down to a T. I just haven't been able to watch a Regal match since Fit Finlay that hasn't made me want to flip the channel.
Guest Prince Paul Posted July 27, 2002 Report Posted July 27, 2002 I like Regal as a worker. His style just clashes with many employed by the WWE. Wow, did I just channel JR or something?
Guest razazteca Posted July 27, 2002 Report Posted July 27, 2002 lets not forget the Kiss my Ass club membership It seems ever since Regal started to get heat for doing the Anti-Hulkamania skit, where he belittles all that is holy in Hogan, his career has been going down hill. It seems like everybody in WWE fears Regal for some reason. "Those" in power have besmirched his name, his talent, and made his Euro title nonexistant. Nearly everytime Regal get over, he is put in stupid humilating skits or promos. When Regal was the Commish, Y2J besmirched his tea. When Regal was Euro champ they made him into a crybaby when he lost it. Then there was the Power of the Punch, which had him never winning a match clean ever.
Guest Daredevil21 Posted July 27, 2002 Report Posted July 27, 2002 Bobby Barron, we've had this talk before. Regal is quite lucky to have a job right now. I'll give you this. He's got awesome music, a great character, and some great mic skills. However, I'm tired of seeing him in the ring, since he hasn't had a really good match in years. He did some good stuff in WCW, but my God, he hasn't done anything above mediocre in the ring since he joined the WWF. The straight fact is that his style simply clashes with everyone on the WWF roster, which means that we get an odd and rough match everytime he wrestles. If he were such a great wrestler, he'd be able to adapt to different styles. He doesn't do that, insisting on working the same style of match night in and night out, almost regardless of his opponent. I've tried to remain a Regal supporter through his WWF days, but it's too hard now. I would rather see him in a non-active role, than an active one. He's more entertaining doing backstage skits than he is klunking around the ring. Don't know if this'll happen, but he sure isn't changing his in-ring style for anyone soon, so he might as well be put in a non-active role. What does he have to fight for now that the European title has been wisely scrapped? Nothing.
Guest FeArHaVoC Posted July 27, 2002 Report Posted July 27, 2002 Regal is far from being screwed. As much as I use to like Regal, he just doesn't have it anymore. Or, isn't allowed to have it. I wouldn't go as far to say Regal is lucky to even have a job, but he is damn sure lucky to have been getting as much TV time and to be holding Title Belts as much as he has in the last 8-10 months.
Guest Youth N Asia Posted July 28, 2002 Report Posted July 28, 2002 It seems like every other day they give Regal a belt He had the euro belt forever...then as soon as he jobbed it they put the IC belt on him...lengthy reign...and as soon as he jobbed that they put the euro belt right back on him...and another good sized run with that Regal's doing just fine
Guest Incandenza Posted July 28, 2002 Report Posted July 28, 2002 The only reason Regal kept getting that damn Euro title in the first place is no one gave a shit about it, so why not let the Brit midcarder hold it? As far as his two month reign with the IC title, I believe it was a thank you for kissing Vince's ass a couple months prior. As far as his ring work, the only thing I like of Regal's these days is his half-nelson suplex, but only RVD and Spike Dudley have the balls to take it.
Guest Nezbyte Posted July 28, 2002 Report Posted July 28, 2002 I believe Regal was rehired due to the fact that because he cleaned up HHH really pushed for him. Hmmm, maybe he gets all his belts due to Hunter having Steph write him into storylines. Although the first is true the second is RAMPENT NET SPECULATION~!
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted July 28, 2002 Report Posted July 28, 2002 "As far as his ring work, the only thing I like of Regal's these days is his half-nelson suplex, but only RVD and Spike Dudley have the balls to take it. " RVD takes that move very well. Straight back on his head HARD. I like that Regal move too.
Guest Nevermortal Posted July 28, 2002 Report Posted July 28, 2002 I wish they'd give Regal's TV time to dedicate more to the second coming of Thesz, JACKIE GAYDA! BOW DOWN TO THE BEST NO-SELLER IN THE BUSINESS!
Guest Hogan Made Wrestling Posted July 28, 2002 Report Posted July 28, 2002 Regal deserves every second of TV time he gets. His average match is no worse than many, and he's probably one of the top 5 mic workers going today.
Guest Your Olympic Hero Posted July 29, 2002 Report Posted July 29, 2002 A face turned Regal against a heel Benoit, Angle, or Guerrero (or vice versa) would be great, given the right amount of time.

Yeah, A LOT of time. They tried turning him face during the Invasion angle last year, and much like with X-Pac, the crowd was less than receptive.
