Guest EricMM Report post Posted July 28, 2002 Hey I was just wondering... How good Warcraft 3 has been to y'all. I haven't boughten it or anything, but it looks really fun. I am very interested but it would be quite an investment in terms of space and money etc. SO does anyone have impressions? I do wanna be sold on it but if it's sucking lemme know too. Guest Jobber of the Week Report post Posted July 29, 2002 It looks alright but it's pretty unbalanced.
Guest areacode212 Report post Posted July 29, 2002 I still don't have it. I'm a fairly big Blizzard fan (as you can probably tell from my avatar), but I haven't gotten it yet because a) I haven't finished WC2 (I'll probably get it regardless of this though) and b) I don't have enough time to play the games I DO have. I still haven't finished System Shock 2, Deus Ex or Fallout 2, plus I want to get Jedi Knight 2 eventually. Maybe I'll get WC3 when it goes on sale at Best Buy or something, because I'd like to get in on some of that action.
Guest The Man in Blak Report post Posted July 29, 2002 I play/pirated the demo and I really wasn't that impressed. There's really not a lot of excitement, which is something that I can't fathom for an RTS...but somewhere along the way from StarCraft, the thrill just kind of died. The interface is too clean, the graphics are too pretty...it's like Blizzard focused more on presentation than game design. I wasn't impressed.

Guest Singular Report post Posted August 1, 2002 What the hell does "Uber" mean?
Guest The Man in Blak Report post Posted August 2, 2002 uber = the very definition of, IIRC. Therefore, uber-cool is "the very definition of cool".
Guest areacode212 Report post Posted August 2, 2002 AreaCode, if i were you, i'd focus on Fallout 2. Were are you in the game? Isn't it uber great I'm sure Fallout 2 is extremely uber (I think "uber" means "super" or "over"), but I haven't even started it! I've decided to play Fallout 1 over, so I can try some different paths, THEN I'll go ahead and start on Fallout 2.

Guest areacode212 Report post Posted August 2, 2002 Well, I just bought a new copy of Warcraft III ($25) from the Uber Pawn Shop of Awesomeness. Yes, I still have cred as a Blizzard fan! So once I get some substantial play time, I'll be posting my opinions of the game here.
Guest areacode212 Report post Posted August 3, 2002 So...from what little of it that I've played (very little...I stopped right at the point after you learn how to build barracks & shit, and the humans start attacking), it basically seems like Warcraft II with nice graphics and a slight Diablo II-ish RPG element for your heroes (they get experience and can pick up mana potions & rings, etc.). Lumber yards are now called war mills, and farms also have a different name. And to answer the burning question I'm sure you all must have.....yes, critters still explode when you click on them multiple times (the explosion is nice & bloody, too). Maybe I'll play a little bit more tomorrow.
