Guest Kingpk Posted September 23, 2002 Report Posted September 23, 2002 I'm willing to trade Drew Brees for a decent RB.
Guest jimmy no nose Posted September 24, 2002 Report Posted September 24, 2002 I dropped Redman of the Ravens...go get him Thanks for the heads up, the move is pending until midnight, but I guess Redman should be my QB for the week. How many points has he been getting? I'm not expecting much, but is it bad enough that I'd need to look elsewhere for the week? I'm willing to trade Drew Brees for a decent RB. I'd like to do that, but unfortunately I don't have a decent running back. I don't know how I'm 3-0.
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Posted September 24, 2002 Report Posted September 24, 2002 Im willing to entertain offers for Jeff Garcia. SF is on a bye next week, but if someone wants him, all I really want in return is a decent RB or WR. Im also entertaining offers for Pittsburgh Defense, but I would like a team defense in return and maybe a WR/RB if possible. EDIT: For what its worth, Redman is facing Denver on Monday Night Football next week. That will be an ugly game, probably have an even uglier rating as well.
Guest razazteca Posted September 24, 2002 Report Posted September 24, 2002 can't be any uglier than Bungles vs Falcons giving me -9 points...... Why oh Why did I drop Joey Harrington?
Guest El Satanico Posted September 24, 2002 Report Posted September 24, 2002 Well i'd like a good backup QB, but i only have two decent RBs so i'm out of luck.
Guest The Man in Blak Posted September 24, 2002 Report Posted September 24, 2002 The Rams are the most worthless, laziest, sloppiest, pussified team I have ever watched play professional football. Mike Martz needs to be canned, Kurt Warner needs to have somebody smack that crooked eye straight (or just take him out for that mother fucking thumb injury and stick a pacifier in his damn mouth), and the whole team needs somebody like Gruden to frickin' grind their asses into the dirt. It's embarrassing, it's depressing, and - for a St. Louis Rams fan who just lost their fantasy football game by about 1 point - it's really goddamn frustrating. You can't pin this on Az-Zahir Hakim or London Fletcher being gone - this is a team, a team that waltzed into this season with their head so far up their ass they can chew their dinner a second time. Shoulda, coulda, woulda, nothing - this team needs an enema, STAT. Ridiculous.
Guest Kingpk Posted September 24, 2002 Report Posted September 24, 2002 Well, I'll trade Brees for ANY reasonable deal then.
Guest razazteca Posted September 24, 2002 Report Posted September 24, 2002 the scores will not be finalize until tomorrow so come down The Rams are the most worthless, laziest, sloppiest, team I have ever watched play professional football have you seen the 49ers, Bengals, Vikings, Giants? they lost the fantasy game for me
Guest The Man in Blak Posted September 24, 2002 Report Posted September 24, 2002 I've seen all four of the teams you've mentioned play football this year, Raz, and there's really no comparison. The 49ers and the Giants will at least try to bull in for the extra yard. The Bengals, god bless them, don't have the personnel, and the Vikings just need to address their "locker room cancer" (Moss) to get back on their feet. But when you see guys on the sideline - Mike Martz in particular - who are just glassy-eyed the entire game, like they don't really care...that says that there's a huge problem. The Rams gave up tonight after the Bucs took the lead. They could have triumphed over adversity - they could have adapted or at least attempted to change something in their scheme with Faulk out. But they did absolutely nothing. The TD that Lamar Gordon scored was almost a given due to total complacency by the Bucs Defense. There is just a mental thing going wrong with this team...and I'm more frustrated at that than the fact that I probably lost (though, given that my optimized team was the highest scoring team this week, I am a wee bit disappointed).
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Posted September 24, 2002 Report Posted September 24, 2002 Im gonna have to say that as bad as the Rams, have been, the Redskins have been (---) that much worse. 1 Offensive TD in the last 2 games, They've given up 80 pts in 3 games, Defenses are killing Matthews, Weurffel has been awful, Spurrier isn't letting Davis run the ball (NO LETS PASS to the Davis, even though he is the Running Back), The defense has forced exactly 2 Turnovers in 3 games and given up probably 7 or 8... Im finding it hillarious that The LIONS have outscored the Skins (59-48). The Redskins officially are worse than every team in the NFL except the Ravens and the Bengals. The Motherfarking Lions are a better team than the Redskins, since the Redskins would also be 0-3 had they not played Arizona week 1. Hail to the Redskins indeed.
Guest The Man in Blak Posted September 24, 2002 Report Posted September 24, 2002 All right, out of curiosity's sake, I've decided to look at the actual standings for the teams in question here: Cincinnati Bengals: 0-3, 5.3 points for avg., 28.0 points against avg. Washington Redskins: 1-2, 16.0 points for avg., 26.7 points against avg. St. Louis Rams: 0-3, 17.0 points for avg., 25.0 points against avg. Detroit Lions: 0-3, 19.7 points for avg., 39.0 points against avg. Baltimore Ravens: 0-2, 3.5 points for avg., 17.5 points against avg. Minnesota Vikings: 0-3, 25.3 points for avg., 31.0 points against avg. So, let's look at the three teams out of this illustrious group who have worst offenses than the St. Louis Rams, all three of which who, ironically, have top line running backs: * Washington has no QB (Sorry, Matthews doesn't really count), and they've had one game against Philly, the most frightening secondary in the league. I feel your woe, but they just don't have the personnel. * Baltimore: Chris Redman as a starting QB...and who exactly is he throwing to again? Brandon Stokley? No way. * Cincinnati. These guys can't even decide who's going to throw the ball, much less who's going to catch it out of their wonderful six-man receiving rotation. They certainly don't have the personnel. The Rams have the best running back in the league, hands down. In Bruce and Holt, they've got two four-star wideouts that can bring home the deep ball and go over the middle. In Kurt Warner, they did have one of the best QBs in the league. And they're being outperformed by Mike McMahon and the Lions. That's my frustration. And, while the Rams have a tougher schedule, there's been no evidence that Mike Martz even bothered to prepare them for such adversity this year. These guys should have been gnawing over the film from the Super Bowl, just gritting their teeth at the chance to actually play some smash-mouth football in return, but instead, the heart and the fire of this team has been killed and the St. Louis Rams are playing bad enough that they'd be 0-3 in the XFL. Right now, it's looking like 7-9 and no chance of even sniffing the playoffs...and this is, essentially, the same group of players that made their second trip in three years to the Super Bowl in January.
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Posted September 24, 2002 Report Posted September 24, 2002 Meanwhile, back in fantasy land, Im playing the backup RB game for the 3rd straight week (if Faulk doesn't start, which I doubt he will, even though they need the win, its against Dallas..) Curtis Martin is out a game and I have Lamont Jordan so I play him that week and he gets nothing. Ahman Green gets hurt and I have Mealey and I play him that week and he gets nothing. So here I am, picking up Lamar Gordon. Trung Candidate did nothing in the backup role against TB after Faulk got hurt, and Lamar Gordon comes in and scores a TD and about 40 yards against TB's defense. Im always desperate for that 2nd RB (I was going to use Kevin Faulk, he did score a TD sunday..) but If Faulk doesnt start I gotta chance it a 3rd time.
Guest alkeiper Posted September 24, 2002 Report Posted September 24, 2002 As a fantasy football winner this week, and owner of the now 2-1 Barely Knewyas, I have no problem whatsoever with the Rams defense.
Guest converge241 Posted September 24, 2002 Report Posted September 24, 2002 "QUOTE The Rams are the most worthless, laziest, sloppiest, team I have ever watched play professional football have you seen the 49ers, Bengals, Vikings, Giants? they lost the fantasy game for me " NO, have you seen the STEELERS?? the rams look like they are trying at least
Guest The Man in Blak Posted September 24, 2002 Report Posted September 24, 2002 As a fantasy football winner this week, and owner of the now 2-1 Barely Knewyas, I have no problem whatsoever with the Rams defense. I kill you and your stupid dog. Congrats, Al - and, actually, you should be more happy with Tim Couch. And yeah, if there's any team comparable to the Rams right now, it'd be those crazy Steelers. But, even though Kordell's heartily reminded the team that he's like Adam and Eve and not Adam and Steve (*augh*), I have a little more faith in Bill Cowher putting those guys through hell in this last off-week than Offensive Genius Mike Martz, who seems astonished that people would have caught onto a way to break-up the "Greatest Show on Turf."
Guest razazteca Posted September 24, 2002 Report Posted September 24, 2002 The Giants better run the score up on the Cardinals, and will Dayne score in week 4? And will Norcutt get more game time other than Special Team Superman? Which kicker to use Dallas or St Louis? Will I ever score [/beavis & Butthead Mode]
Guest jimmy no nose Posted September 25, 2002 Report Posted September 25, 2002 Well, more bad news for my team, Mike Tice may not let Moss play this week after he got arrested yesterday. Oh well, I'll see what happens.
Guest hardyz1 Posted September 25, 2002 Report Posted September 25, 2002 I appear to be screwed this week, since Harrison is on a bye and I have to plug in a third string RB. I don't know whether to go with Canidate or Wiley, and it probably doesn't matter, as neither will likely do anything.
Guest razazteca Posted September 25, 2002 Report Posted September 25, 2002 use Wiley since he is Special Teamer that returns Kicks for the Cowboys and he might get 1 or 2 receptions as 4th WR it looks like Canadidate will be the backup to the rookie RB or just be 3rd down player
Guest razazteca Posted September 26, 2002 Report Posted September 26, 2002 nutcracker trade? all of my players are up for trade for the right deal. well everybody but Gannon
Guest The Man in Blak Posted September 27, 2002 Report Posted September 27, 2002 HEADLINE: "Doggone it! Griese sprains ankle tripping over pooch" ... *walks away calmly* ... *turns around corner* ... AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH *bangs head on wall repeatedly*
Guest hardyz1 Posted September 27, 2002 Report Posted September 27, 2002 The dog got 15 yards for roughing the passer. :::rimshot::: Now I hear Curtis Martin might not play this weekend. I'm not sure if it's that big, though, since I'll lose anyway.
Guest razazteca Posted September 27, 2002 Report Posted September 27, 2002 I think tripping over the dog has as much crediblity as Eric Couch retirement.
Guest El Satanico Posted September 29, 2002 Report Posted September 29, 2002 Damnit...It sounds like Terry Glenn probably won't be playing this week. He hasn't been putting up amazing stats, but still losing any guy that gets you solid points every week is big in this league. He has the damn "game time decision" label now aargh.
Guest hardyz1 Posted September 29, 2002 Report Posted September 29, 2002 Thanks to Worst Team Ever for giving up Lamar Gordon. Now I have two starting RBs named Lamar. That's a good sign. Or not.
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Posted September 29, 2002 Report Posted September 29, 2002 Hes not starting. And oops. The Rams will lose to The Cowgirls. Kurt Warner has a dislocated/fractured Pinky finger on his throwing hand and is OUT for the game, possibly longer.. Oh, and if anyone is even remotely interested in Martin or Garcia, make me an offer.
Guest razazteca Posted September 29, 2002 Report Posted September 29, 2002 damn it Darnay Scott scored a TD and he is sitting on my bench
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Posted September 29, 2002 Report Posted September 29, 2002 Tommy Maddox is in at QB for the Steelers! I repeat, XFL MVP Tommy Maddox is in at QB for the Steelers! I cant take him (I have 4 QBS).. And he leads a TD drive late in the game for the Steelers, ties the game up at 13.
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Posted September 29, 2002 Report Posted September 29, 2002 Guess what? Im gonna lose again! I have it 54.75 - 24.5 through the early games. With my starters playing in the late games, I know Im not gonna make up 30 pts, and Poortucket still has Cullpepper, Bates, Anderson and Baltimore to play between tonight/tomorrow. 0-4 here I come!
Guest The Man in Blak Posted September 29, 2002 Report Posted September 29, 2002 *shakes head* Another miserable week in the books. When Brian Mitchell, special teamer, has one half of your non-QB touchdowns for the week, you know it's not going to work out. Unless Griese unloads a miracle Monday night, I'm going to be a mind-blowing 1-3.
