Swollen Members....

Who here likes them? They're pretty new, that much I do know. Also, "Fuel Injected" is the only song I've heard by them, and it's awesome. Anyways, who else likes them, and what other songs are good that I can download by them?

The newest single is "Bring it Home". It features Moka Only and sounds similar to "Fuel Injected".

I'll have to listen to "Bring It Home", if it sounds like "Fuel Injected". Also, does anyone know exactly how long Swollen Members have been around?

Swollen Members kick ass!

their first two major album releases are amazing, "Balance" (1999) and "Bad Dreams" (2001).

they have hits like: Lady Venom, Bring it Home, Take it Back, and Fuel Injected

.....no wonder, they ARE Canadian!

:D

"Fuel Injected" is a really great tune. funny how they really came from nowhere and totally stole all of choclair and kardinell's momentum as canada's top hip-hop act.

I didn't think Kardinall had any heat to steal. His stuff, frankly, sucks. Baby Blue Sound Crew maybe, but not Kardinall.

You hit it on the head, though - these guys did come from nowhere and in fact are Canada's indy darlings as well as being the top hip-hop act.

I think their popularity partially comes from the fact that their music isn't the usual Gangsta Rap stuff that prevails (no pun intended) in hip-hop these days. It's a very Canadian style, blending genres and giving their music a distincitve sound. Which means that the niche-driven US radio market would have no idea on how to play them...

They also have another song that I like, "Deep End". I don't know if it was ever officially released as a single, but I did hear it on the radio once or twice. It sounds more like "Lady Venom" then it does the newer stuff ("Fuel Injected", "Bring it Home"), in my opinion.

treble charged's post reminds me... they're in the video for "Hundred Million". Well Prevail and Madchild are, anyways...

There are lots of people in that video. It's both good and bad. Bad in the way that every time I hear the song on the radio, the DJs gush all over who's in the video, ignoring the fact that the song kicks ass.

You generally don't get that in Toronto. But then, I don't think the pop stations have gotten around to playing it yet. I know that Houston hasn't yet :(

I saw them perform on the Mike Bullard show in March and they impressed me. Since then, all I know is that they were in Nelly Fertado's last video.
