As I was listening to 99.9 KISW (which rock by the way) one of the DJ's mentioned that Guns 'N Roses are supposedly reading Chinese Democracy for a September release. I hope this is true and Axl doesn't change his mind because I have been looking forward to this for like the past 2-3 years.

I refuse to get my hopes up, as Axl has been a prick about this release for quite some time.

This the same cd he was suppose to have out 5 years ago?

Sorry, but the Axl Rose solo project (which is what I'm calling it) doesn't interest me one bit. He's not a star anymore and he's the only one who doesn't know it.

I bleed GNR as true as any, but if it doesn't have Slash on it, it's NOT GNR...

Speaking of which, I don't think anyone answered my question in the original GNR thread... is Slash's Snakepit worth checking out?

Yes... its GNR without Axl.

Hmmm.... GNR without Axel, or GNR without Slash... YOU CAN'T WIN!

Now I know how Sex Pistols fans feel ;)

I can't deny that Appetite For Destruction was a great album, but Gn'R went downhill quickly after that, and I have no anticipation for whatever Axl's up to these days.

They went downhill after that? What did you expect them to do? Slash wanted to release another album that sounded exactly like AFD, but Axl went ahead with Use Your Illusion, which actually showed some *gasp* musical growth, and didn't sound exactly like their first one. All the so called "true GNR fans" abandoned them for releasing an album that wasn't Appetite pt. 2. WAKE UP, PEOPLE~! UYI is a GREAT album, it shows how much Axl matured as a songwriter. Although, admitidly, after that they went to shit, but man, some people piss me off. Slash's Snakepit's first album was complete crap, but the second one is decent.

Sorry to piss you off Lpemp. I wouldn't call myself a true GnR fan or anything. I wouldn't call myself a fan of theirs at all. I hate Guns and Roses, but that Appetite for Destruction was a great album, just cannot be denied. And I don't. I could care less what they do with the rest of their career though.

This is of course your opinion. THEY are NOT great albums by any means to me. They're bloated and excessive and a sad testament to a once good/capable band whose lead singer wanted to become the Elton John of his generation. That is a bad thing. I have no problem with another Apetite. Simply put, it was great. The Illusions were a bad attempt at reaching Queen like status. I can only imagine Axl going in the same direction trying to secure his place in history to justify his own self-importance. History hasn't forgotten GnR. It's just that nobody cares about them anymore.

I've gotta stop posting in this forum. I'm gonna start taking things way too personal one of these days.

It'll be picked up by diehard GNR fans praise it for a while, then pack it away saying its crap and then they go back listening to Appitite For Destruction.

And this year? Axl will probably be f'ed up and he'll delay it for another year or two
