Guest Downhome Posted July 29, 2002 Report Posted July 29, 2002 I feel that it would benifit the forum as a whole, if Testing Grounds was changed over to a Graphics board. People could go there to request banners, avatars, etc... and we could make them for each other, or just simply showcase what we can do. We could have graphic tournys and the such also, and WOULD become quite popular. It could still be the place for people to test things, but come on... ...an entire forum JUST for testing the board? That might have been of use when this place first opened up, but it's time to but that board to better use, and I feel my idea will work out great, and if you don't believe me, then click here for a taste of what could become very much "over" here at TheSmartMarks! Guest areacode212 Posted July 29, 2002 Report Posted July 29, 2002 This may be a pretty cool idea, actually. A lot of boards have graphic showcase/banner request forums, and the Testing forum is just kinda sitting there. Maybe I'll do it later (I have work to do).

However theres a couple problems, i have a similar idea on another forums, which i admin and they drain space like theres no tommorow. They maxed out the server within 2 months. If we do this on this board shall we let users upload their pics? or shall they need to find a host? If we do let them, we will prob clean it out monthly to keep the size usage down to a decent size. Whats everyone think? Maybe we should just create a board under pop-culture called arts/graphics/etc. and use that so we can still have a place for people to test things out. However its left open to dames to decide.

No, just change Testing Grounds, and do not let them upload here. There are plenty of "free" places out there to upload graphics. I believe one is NetFirms and I'm sure there are plenty of others out there.

Guest KingOfOldSchool Posted July 30, 2002 Report Posted July 30, 2002 Why? The caption threads have nothing to do with testing, banners, creating graphics etc etc. It's just a mindless bit of fun that's usually about wrestling anyway, so they fit better in NHB. Besides, they'll clog up the folder.
