Morrowind - anyone play it?

Recommended Posts

Well, the same pawn shop where I get my ultra-cheap DVDs is selling some PC games for $20 brand new (I just got Freedom Force there, woo woo!), one of which is The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind. I vaguely remember hearing good reviews about it, and since I can't check game review sites from work, I'll have to rely on you guys for opinions. Anyone here play it?

buy buy buy is all I got to say.

so much fun and so addicting, hell i think the game is sorta racist. (i was a black guy and he wouldn't let me buy some clothes so I took his. I was a white guy for a different character and i was buying stuff of the same guy)

you can kill anyone, steal there clothes food, shelter, horse, make your own character...10/10

*ahem* I'll say this. Morrowind is the best RPG I've played in a long while.

If you're used to only being able to go one path, you probably won't like it.

If you don't, this game is huge. Lots of places to go, people to interact with..and kill..ruins to explore..you name it.

For the PC version, you have to have a good comp. A really good comp, because it's graphic-intensive. There's also an X-box version, which is worth the extra cash. Little to no loading time, minimal lag, and the control is just perfect.

Wonderful game.

Cool, maybe if you can tear yourself away from the freaking Mission to 1000 thread, we can play a game of FF.

Anyway, El Psycho Diablo & redbaron51 convinced me to grab Morrowind for $20. Along with Amelie (Disc 1 only :( ), Cool Hand Luke, The Great Escape, Goodfellas, American Psycho, Rocky, Sopranos S1 Disc 1. Great, now I have no money left.

One of my roommates has Morrowind for the X-Box and it looks like a wide open game. I'm not much of an RPG fan, but my roommate likes the game. I think Freedom Force is a pretty cool game, but I haven't played it in a few months. Does anyone know how to create their own skins? I am really anxious to create my own superteam.

If you have Photoshop, a quick way to make a skin would be to just modify an existing one. Just open one of the skin files, set your paintbrush mode to "color" or "hue" (I forget which), then brush over the existing costume with the color you want.

Making really good skins isn't easy, unless you're good at shading, etc.. (which I'm not). But if you're good at skinning one game (say, Quake 3), those skills basically translate over to every other game that lets you make skins.

Creating my own characters was a feature that made me buy the game, but all I did was download already existing characters. Maybe I will start playing the game again.
