Guest Just call me Dan Report post Posted July 29, 2002 Do you collect WWE figures? Do you have a collection of old WCW/ECW figures? I do. I have collected them snce I was about 9 years old, but I never really kept much of a collection. Thanks to wrestleworld.com in its prime, I obtained any of the ones I ever wanted, but I always kept the most updated, best looking versions of each wrestler. My collection at one time grew over 100 but is now down to about 35. Switching parts became a hobby of mine for a while, but now they just mostly sit in my closet in a box. Did you ever collect or do you still now? Thoughts? I believe this may be the first post about anything other than video games in this folder since the name changed. Just thought I'd mix it up a bit. Guest Zack Malibu Report post Posted July 29, 2002 Hell yes, I still collect. While I don't do as much as I used to, I usually just now stick to the guys I like or that look cool. I don't play with them anymore (I'm gonna be 22, gotta curb that kinda stuff, lol), but I do set the cooler ones up, either at home or even on my desk at work (they allow that kinda stuff here). At work I've got a pretty nice setup with the Smackdown stage, with Hurricane, RVD, Jericho, Benoit, Eddie, Undertaker, Raven, Regal and a WCW Mysterio on it, while Shane Douglas, Jushin Liger, Dean Malenko, Brian Pillman and an ECW Justin Credible are randomly place around/on my computer. So,uh, yeah, I still get 'em. But they're taking a backseat to the new He-Man, baby!
Guest Just call me Dan Report post Posted July 29, 2002 Ha, cool. I'll admit, even being 18 if I'm bored outta my mind I have to have a Randy Savage/Austin match or something. I just fool around with them rarely and switch parts and try to customize some. Kind of just a backseat thing that happens sometimes. BTW, which Douglas are you talking about? The ECW figure or the WCW Unleashed version ( The ONLY figure I could NEVER get my hands on)?
Guest Zack Malibu Report post Posted July 29, 2002 The ECW one. I WISH I had the Unleashed one. The only Unleashed I've seen has been Mike Awesome. One of these days when I have the money to spare I'm gonna grab the Douglas off Ebay. He usually runs for $15-$20 bucks, but being a 21 year old who's returning to college, I need every dime I can save
Guest Just call me Dan Report post Posted July 29, 2002 I had no idea it was on EBAY. I'd cough that up in a heartbeat. If you have a link or know where a bid on one is, a shout would be greatly appreciated.
Guest Zack Malibu Report post Posted July 30, 2002 I checked Dan, and the only ones up there are ECW ones. I haven't seen one on auction in maybe a month or so, but I haven't been on Ebay in a while. I don't think many stores got the Unleashed line, because the only one I've ever seen was a Mike Awesome on a small card rather than the normal size. I know they've got Vampiro, and a New Blood Kidman in that set as well. KB Toys tends to have some WCW figures for as low as $2.99, so it could always be worth it to check around. The best bet is probably Ebay, though. And I just got Smackdown draft Kurt Angle, Billy and Chuck figures! Limited Edition, baby!
Guest Just call me Dan Report post Posted July 30, 2002 Awesome I didn't know they were out yet, any luck finding the nWo series?
Guest Zack Malibu Report post Posted July 30, 2002 Got 'em all too. However, I work at a place that sells most of these figures, so I get dibs when they come in
Guest jimmy no nose Report post Posted July 30, 2002 I buy all the ones that I think look cool and usually leave them in the package.
Guest Grenouille Report post Posted July 30, 2002 I haven't bought any since the first series of Jakks, except just recently. I was on vacation in Canada, and I went to a store called Zellers, kinda like Walmart. I walk through their toy dept. and they still have LJN's in stock! I picked up Ted DiBiase, Slick, Mene Gene, Heenan and Vince.
Guest Zack Malibu Report post Posted July 31, 2002 Were these LJN's for a decent price, or were they priced higher for being older and collectible? I remember when the KB's around here started getting random Hasbro shipments back in 1995-1996. The line was already over and done with, so they were probably just excess stock, and KB sold them 3/$10. I managed to get Texas Tornado, Bret Hart, Lex Luger, Doink, Scott Steiner, Rowdy Roddy Piper and quite a few more from there.
