Guest Brian Report post Posted July 30, 2002 What Worked -Eddie v. Booker seemed a beat off, like Booker v. Beniot last week. This was a worse match as these guys don’t have the history that Booker and Beniot do to fall back on. When was the last time Eddie won a match? -Jeff v. Bradshaw was as stiff as a match I expected a top v. bottom “hardcore” match to be. You would expect a little blood though. Tommy Dreamer interjects himself, no triple kiss or testes trauma though. -I played in the Bridge Nationals here in D.C. this week,, and after some of the beatings we absorbed I really enjoyed the Island Boys beating the two old ladies. I just squinted and it was that pair which doubled my 4 Hearts and beat me on a cross ruff. -I can’t remember ever seeing a better RVD match then his match against Beniot tonight. Beniot had been slightly rusty up to tonight, but he looked like the best wrestler in the world here. You could tell he told RVD to stop being such a nance as RVD was fierce tonight, I mean his forearms actually connected, and those Kawada kicks to the face are the kind of things RVD used to bellow like a pussy about in All Japan. Beniot controlled which is the smart move, breaking out the neat arm based offense, including the sublime hammerlock Northern Lights. RVD would get flashes of nifty offense, I especially dug the Tope, and the flip out of the cravate. Ending was freaking off, who ever is booking finishes in these matches needs a raise. I have to watch this again but this may have been better then Rock v. Eddy last week. I could be way into a PPV match here. -Rock v. Flair in North Carolina, so smoked Rock v. Hogan for a Rock v. Legend match. This should have mained Wrestlemania. Unlike that pillow fight Hogan match, this was pretty damn stiff, and Flair took real bumps. I really dug how hard Rock fought to stay out of the figure four which returned some credibility to the move, The counter of the Peoples Elbow was pretty swank too The mirror stuff was cute too, especially Flair giving Rock a punching lesson. I do think this could easily have been on PPV, and it is criminal not to give Flair a mike spot to build this up. I want Rock v. Harley Race next What Didn’t Work -Lance Storm is pretty boring, and boy was that a lot of him talking and boring me. At least it keeps him from wrestling. -Big Show is not a suitable replacement for Regal. That would have been a perfect excuse to bring in Finlay btw. GODAMMIT GIMME FINLAY -I wonder if we will get a homoerotic shower scene with Harvard Chris and Undertaker like we did with Taker and David Flair. I wonder if Tommy Dreamer will interject himself -My guess for who jumped Shawn Micheals. Cassady and Chase the HOTSHOTS , the are Pricks and they are protruding. Hotshots v. Micheals and HHH could be enjoyable actually.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted July 30, 2002 You know...reading the RVD/Benoit part... I have to wonder if RVD's strikes are usually thrown extra week because he spent the first few months in the company being told he's too dangerous and he hurts people. I could see him pulling his shots more for fear of pissing everyone off. I wonder if Benoit did go up to him and say "just let me have it"...and we see a better result. I would not be surprised. Guest Nezbyte Report post Posted July 30, 2002 Wailing like a pussy of Kawada's kicks? Who the hell wouldnt? Lance Storm was talking about people getting broken noses and smashed faces as a result of that stiff fuck, i wouldnt enjoy it either. Good Workrate Report, with the exception of the fact that Lance should be in the ring cause he rules the school.

Guest Retro Rob Report post Posted July 30, 2002 Lance is gold in the ring, but boring on the mic. Hopefully Jericho officially joins the group. He and Christian can carry the promos. Meanwhile, Lance and Test could just look menacing.
Guest Moleculo Report post Posted July 31, 2002 "I have to wonder if RVD's strikes are usually thrown extra week because he spent the first few months in the company being told he's too dangerous and he hurts people." From what I've seen of RVD,he's seemed pretty loose.I've been able to 'see daylight" on his punches for a while. However,I'm probably just spoiled by my AJPW viewings. "Lance is gold in the ring, but boring on the mic." I've enjoyed his mic work the past few weeks WAY more than his work in the ring.He seems to have pussified his offense for some reason. Guest LesnarLunatic Report post Posted July 31, 2002 well.. Lance Storm's chairshots have always sucked.. so that's one thing
Guest Retro Rob Report post Posted July 31, 2002 Storm does have HORRID chairshots and he admits that, but I have been digging his tag matches a lot more than his promos lately.
Guest Brian Report post Posted July 31, 2002 Well, RVD wasn't exactly snug during his AJPW days. "Lance Storm was talking about people getting broken noses and smashed faces as a result of that stiff fuck, i wouldnt enjoy it either." Lance Storm never worked with Kawada, and Storm's pretty loose in his own so he doesn't have much room to comment since (by his standards of a guy he admitted to not watching in the last six or seven years or so) he's pretty much put himself on the other end of the spectrum and doesn't exactly have a whole lot of experience to begin with. Guest Vyce Report post Posted July 31, 2002 Beniot controlled which is the smart move, breaking out the neat arm based offense, including the sublime hammerlock Northern Lights. And immediately afterwards, JR channeled Michael Cole by describing it as "What a manuever!" RETIRE, Jim.
Guest Brian Report post Posted July 31, 2002 No, I'm saying that as much as Lance Storm thinks he know, he's been pretty unexposed (or exposed at the same level as the rest of us) to a product.
