Make the most boring match imaginable

Recommended Posts

Guest Shaved Bear

I'd say HHH vs. Nash, in which they circle eachother until someone tears a quad

:D

Big Show vs. Viscera. Iron Man Chinlock match. Whoever can get their opponent to stay in the chinlock longer, wins.

Triple H in a one-man Iron Man match. Let's see if he will sell for himself, or if he tries to hold himself down.

He'll still blame everything on Jericho.

but the match would only last 30 seconds before nash lost.

i'd say the most boring match would be giant gonzales v. yokozuna in a 60-minute ultimate submission neck pinch match.

Since we want to be sarcastic:

Austin's moveset was lacking, his character was boring, his feuds were one-sided, he got long promos and lots of tv time, his backstage pull allowed him to avoid or get out of feuds, and his backstage problems infected the TV.

Call me crazy, but isn't that why 90% of you hate HHH? I may not HHHate, but I do Austin-hate. After seeing him treated like a near-diety around here, it sickens me because it's like "Austin and Benoit are gods, accept or leave".

If anybody shows any signs of liking HHH..well, that's a hanging offense, because he HELD DOWN JERICHO, BAH GAWD! After all the talk I hear about HHH's matches in 2000 being over-rated, and boring..ever consider that not all of us share the same viewpoint? I was constantly entertained in 2000..and guess when that ended? You bet. When Austin came back.

There had been a good, long stretch without senseless 'run in and stunner 30 people in the middle of the ring' segments. HHH put on some great matches with people like Taka, Al Snow, and Rikishi. It may not have helped them much, but it was the WWF/E's fault for not following up on that, not HHH. Austin wouldn't sell for guys like that, much less work with them. Unless 'working with them' constitutes humilliating them in the ring week after week (Tazz).

My dissapointment in the InVasion angle was twofold: It should have been the greatest thing we've ever seen storyline wise in wrestling, ever. Secondly, none of the WCW guys were at the heart of it, it was Steve Austin. Whoo boy. I guess an even more annoying ("My name is Stone Cold Steve Austin, I am the Man's Man, Champion of Champions, the WWF Champion, etc.." repeated on average six times a week) Austin sure did make people turn in, oh yeah. *looks at the mass number of viewers that left*.

I can proudly say that Hulk Hogan had one thing Steve Austin did not. A sucessful heel turn. Reason being? Ratings. Hogan's character in WCW, along with the nWo, drew. Austin's character flopped.

Funny how things work sometimes.

Imagine the hell you feel at every time HHH comes on TV now. Oh, he gets 20 minutes a show at least. Now multiply that by two, and you have what Austin was. There was no refuge. Announcers constantly mentioned him, commercials, storylines, EVERYTHING revolved around Austin.

Maybe you can just catch a glimpse of the hatred I feel.

Oh, but he 'elevated Kurt Angle!'. Angle would have been the 'Next Big Thing' anyway. He had enough talent, and charisma to do it. He was over long before he worked with Austin.

~end~

You make some good points ESD- I don't HHHate and I can understand some of your complaints about Austin.

I take it night after SurS99-Unforgiven 2000 was your favourite time in wrestling. :-)

99-2000 was -the- point for me.

HHH was putting on damn good matches, Rocky was doing a great job chasing the belt..and Jericho/Angle/Benoit/Eddy were tearing up the midcard.

Okay, HHH is GOD.

Fuck Angle.

Fuck Jericho.

Fuck Benoit.

Fuck RVD.

Fuck Austin (who is not in HHH's league).

Fuck Booker.

Fuck Eddy.

HHH has never held anyone down in his life. People just get buried for no reason and he just HAPPENS to be the one to benefit from it every time.

Is that better?

Allright, Alfdogg. Seeing as we want to be hostile..

This is just what I was talking about. Defend HHH just a little bit, and it's on.

You think HHH is an overpushed jackass.

I think Austin was an overpushed jackass.

"Okay, HHH is GOD.

Fuck Angle.

Fuck Jericho.

Fuck Benoit.

Fuck RVD.

Fuck Austin (who is not in HHH's league).

Fuck Booker.

Fuck Eddy.

"

Kurt Angle: Amazing athlete, booked as a moron for most of his career. Great heel work. Never fully pushed after his inital rise to the top.

Chris Jericho: Above average worker. Height and moveset problems prevent him from being seen on the main event level.

Chris Benoit: "Great" worker. However, he has no personality, and does nothing to excite me (or a lot of the crowd, apparently).

Rob Van Dam: The complete package. While he's not a technical wizard, he excites the crowd, knows how to get them in the palm of his hand, and has a moveset with impact. Just hasn't been given the "ok".

Steve Austin: Got over by beating the hell out of his boss, throwing middle fingers around, drinking and swearing on TV. Gee, it seems like most anybody would cheer for a character like that. Matches often degenerated into punch-kick-Stunner fests. Rarely to never looked weak, and always had the upper hand against his opponents.

Booker T: His catchphrase gets pops. His segments get pops. His matches do not.

Eddy Guerrero: One of my long time favorites. Charismatic, and an amazing worker. However, he does suffer from the 'size problem'.

I say a few non-negative things about Trips and I get blasted. What a fucking suprise.

So what?

I happen to like Triple H, especially as a heel. While his face character does nothing for me, I despise ALL 'invincible face' characters. Including one bald bastard.

HHH has never held anyone down in his life. People just get buried for no reason and he just HAPPENS to be the one to benefit from it every time

Oh, my god.

You mean to tell me somebody..used their influence..to hold down another wrestler?

It can't be true! It just can't!

:o

Oh, wait. It's on the internet. Everything is true.

Convinent, isn't it. These reports about him just 'happen' to come out..and it just 'happens' to be Chris Jericho as the victim. If it was somebody that wasn't an IWC accepted wrestler, nobody'd give a flying fuck. Remember, these are the same people that think Chris Benoit should be a permenant main eventer, and HHH/Undertaker/Rock should be in a retirement home, while 60,000 fans chant "Go Benoit Go!". These are the same people that put up "Who would YOU fire?" threads every week. Anybody not named "Chris" or "Booker" or "Guerrero" is bound to be released.

Don't see that happening? Neither do I.

Yeah, so he used what pull he's gained to further his career.

Can I blame him? Fuck no. Why?

Because I'd do the same thing. I'd bet most of you would, too. Deep down, how many people are generous enough to put somebody else over them at the expense of their OWN personal sucess. That's right. Not very many.

Triple H is human. I can understand that.

While I may not necessarily like the decisions that are made (Jericho should have won the HIAC, yes), it happens. I won't blast the guy for simply being a human fucking being. Triple H is nowhere nearly as secure in his spot as Austin was. Would making somebody else look credible hurt either of these guys? No.

But Austin didn't make anybody not named Benoit, Angle, Taker, or Rock look worth any more than shit. Triple H did show a few flashes of brilliance for a while there. Once Austin was on top, he was bah gawd cemented there. NOBODY went over looking better than 'Ol Stone Cold. Did he really need to beat Rock at Wrestlemania more than once? No. In fact, the WWE sacrificed the entire invasion angle as a vehicle to get Steve Austin over as a heel. Guess what, it didn't work!

When Trips fucks over the biggest angle in wrestling history, give me a call.

Yeah, I like Triple H. I like RVD, Eddy, Angle, Storm, Raven, and Mysterio too. I don't necessarily like Benoit. I don't like Jericho anymore. Might as well revoke my smark liscense now.

It's like one guy said in the General Chat:

Like Benoit,

Hate HHH,

and you'll get along fine here.

Having an opinion other than "HHH is Satan" seems to be suicide. Yeah, I'm sick of hearing it. Just like I'm sick of hearing "Jericho is being misused!" and "Push New People, but no, not CENA! Not at the expense of Angle and Jericho!" <whiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiine>.

Sometimes I wonder. I really do.
