Guest Trivia247 Report post Posted July 31, 2002 well certainly a different couple of weeks since Bischoff's appearance before Vengeance. We seen alot of Changes in terms of Show switching, Set designs to even after show segments. Question is after all said and done up to this week, do you all see any improvements in the Product? are you more excited to see each week's shows?
Guest RickyChosyu Report post Posted July 31, 2002 The idea of creating a false sense of competition doesn't seem to be working the way it did on paper (that is, if they even had a plan going into this angle) but it has brought some possitives. For one, Bischoff, as tired as his role is, has done a good job with what he has been given, as far as this angle goes. Also, the mystery angle has been done pretty well, which is, again, despite the fact that it's been played out too many times. On the negative side of things, the entire angle right now is still fundimentally flawed, and the TV suffers as a result. Direction is still an issue, and jumping ship still means very little. Matches are kept too short to mean anything, new stars still aren't being created (with the exception of Brock, who is a flop waiting to happen) and still, booking comes off rushed and given us the impression that week-to-week is the only format they know of. Basically, it's a bitter-sweet change, with a little more bitter than sweet.
Guest Brian Report post Posted July 31, 2002 I think it's going to, work but there's going to be an immediate negative if they don't even sides up and totally seperate, starting with the world titles and creating opposing champions. I sort of understand the reasoning behind elevating the next generation of talent into the mid-card rather than the current upper-mid card if I look at it this way. Direction is totally an issue. Is good as some shows have been, they still seem in the end to be directionless, or at least nulled by the ast show or the next show which is hindering any progress or development. I sort of wish Bischoff ended up on SmackDown with the cruiserweights, Angle, probably Benoit and Jericho as the jumpers, and than moved the announcer's table, darkened the ring just because the "B" team at least seems to give more attention to the mid-card matches and angles. Guest Trivia247 Report post Posted July 31, 2002 Heat and Velocity still suffers, I believe its because they only have 3 matches and rest of the time devoted to the past week's events. What they should do, In my opinion is each show they have Raw to Smackdown and so forth, put on a Title match on each show and Highlight it for the next night... Including Heat and Velocity. Not just Have the title matches, but Promote them for Heat or Velocity. they don't have to give the shows just for the Low carders and cruiserweights they aren't allowing on Smackdown. have more Title matches with People NOT in angles with the Champion, it seems in the past Title Defenses seem double or triple the amount that is occurring these days. Hype the title defenses up, it promotes the belts and showcases the champions more.
Guest thebigjig Report post Posted July 31, 2002 I am completely digging the product right now, although it's way too soon to tell whether they're going to keep this streak up. The reason I like it, other than the fact that I mark for Bischoff, is... finally, the WWE seems to have a direction, as if they know where they are going with this. That's all I've wanted for the longest time... a product that doesn't seem thrown together at the last minute. So yeah, with all the crap they've been force feeding us since April 2001, I for one LOVE what's happening
Guest RickyChosyu Report post Posted July 31, 2002 That comment about direction just totally lost me, bigjig. I mean, if they have direction then why is Rock/Flair being thrown out on free TV with little to no build-up? Why is Team Candada suddenly on Raw when they started feuds with a bunch of guys on Smackdown? I'll agree that things are improving, but some of the problems they have right now (mainly having to do with direction) are so glaring that I can't watch more than two segments without seeing one. Yes you're right, it's not perfect. I had just as many complaints about the Rock/Flair match as you did. What I'm talking about, is that it appears as if they finally have a game plan. I came to this conclusion after watching a few RAW's and SD's I had taped from a few months ago and compared them. The production is much smoother, it flows better, there is more ring time given, better matches, and better storylines. I'm not saying it's perfect... I'm just saying that this change in pace is refreshing compared to the shit leading up to WM

Guest thebigjig Report post Posted July 31, 2002 At leat they're putting in some sort of effort Imagine where they would be today if they had put this much into it say... May of 2001 In other news "In Washington State, elementary school teacher Mary Kay LeTourneau pleaded guilty to having sex with a sixth-grade student.... LeTourneau has been branded a sex offender, or as the kids refer to her, 'the greatest teacher of all time' - Norm McDonald
