hate to burst your bubble SG, but the Red Sox aren't gonna make the playoffs, the lead is at 5 games, and they ALWAYS collapse down the stretch, I just find it highly unlikely is all

Being a Florida Marlin fan, the best thing that ever happened to Montreal was getting rid of Loria. He's a backstabbing liar who has lied to the fans of Florida ever since stepping off the plane. He is probably hated more right now than Wayne Huizinga was after dismanteling the World Champs in 98. I am glad Floyd was able to escape here and wish him luck in Boston.

Atlanta is known as Chokers by the General Public...sorry but not a single person takes them serious after Regular Season...You just don't win your Div. 11 teams straight and only emerge with 1 title.

Well right now the lead is 4 games although the Sox are getting killed and we're tied for the WC. The Sox don't always collaspe during the stretch, we tend to get beat in the post season but that's another story.

yea guess so, no point trying to predict the future, we'll let it play out (pending a strike-free season)

I doubt they'll strike and you can't always predict what's going to happen in sports.

BTW did you hear what Reds' GM Jim Bowden said about the strike? He compared it to 9/11, going so far as to say that Donald Fehr might as well fly the plane right into the building and kill the sport himself.

I disagree with his choice of anology but his point stands as true. If the players strike on 8/26, 9/16, or at anyother time it will kill the game for at the very least this year and next year. There just aren't any amazing records that are going to be broken anytime soon to bring the fans back.

Well, It's about time Bowden said something stupid in the lines of other great Cincy sports personality's.

No kidding. Don't try to convince me, like Buddy, Jeffy and Mini-Jeff will try to convince a judge, that they did not conspire to get rid of the Expos. It's so blatantly obvious that Selig wanted the Expos gone from the beginning, and had Loria screw Montreal up for him. Now he's doing it to Florida, and that just sucks. Anybody but the Brewers, eh, Bud?

Remember, he lied to Expos fans, too. Where's that new stadium, again? Or all that money he promised? Or those TV deals? Huh?

The only good thing that can come of this is that Jeffrey Loria will never get his grubby little mitts on a professional sports franchise again. We know better now.
