Guest RickyB Posted February 21, 2002 Report Posted February 21, 2002 From WrestlingHeadlines.com "WWF officials weren't exactly thrilled with David Arquette getting on last week's Smackdown in Los Angeles and holding up a sign that read "former world champion". The WWF mentioned various celebrities in attendance throughout the show, and they didn't even try to mention Arquette, as they have in the past." LOL
Guest Scott Michaels Posted February 21, 2002 Report Posted February 21, 2002 Bwahahaah! Arquette is a goof.
Guest InigoMontoya Posted February 21, 2002 Report Posted February 21, 2002 Cool to hear about him making fun of himself.
Guest starvenger Posted February 21, 2002 Report Posted February 21, 2002 Considering that he's overshadowed by his wife I guess he's gotta do something to attract attention.
Guest dreamer420 Posted February 21, 2002 Report Posted February 21, 2002 That's f'n funny. He should start appearing at all WWF events with his little sign. Maybe even challenge Jericho for his former title.
Guest Tony149 Posted February 21, 2002 Report Posted February 21, 2002 That is pretty funny. I guess if the WWF ever puts up a history of former WCW World Champions, Arquette won't be one of that list.
Guest Risk Posted February 21, 2002 Report Posted February 21, 2002 Arquette: "TAKE THIS JERICHHHHOOOOOOOOOO!" (Jericho trips Arquette, he falls on his mouth and is bleeding. Jericho hits the Lionsault and Arquette spits up blood. He then puts on the Liontamer as Arquette screams and taps out.) Lawler: "Oh no!" Ross: "BY GAWD, BY GAWD, BY GAWD! HE KILLED HIM!" Lawler: "His wife is going to have our...hehehehehehehe."
Guest The98thRedBalloon Posted February 21, 2002 Report Posted February 21, 2002 A few Random Arquette things. -I'm not a Friends fan, so I respect Arquette much more than his wife. He certainly gave the third best performance in the Scream series, behind Jamie Kennedy and Matt Lillaird, in that order. -He is an accomplished actor, if you ignore the "Ready to Rumble"s and the "See Spot Run"s. -The shame of my wrestling interest; I didn't watch either promotion for about three years after Bret turned heel. And why did I start watching again? Because of channel-surfing into Arquette on Nitro. See? Russo logic works, for at least one person in every 4 billion.
Guest Army Eye Posted February 21, 2002 Report Posted February 21, 2002 Yeah.. I don't doubt it brought in some curious viewers. But it broke the cardinal rule of don't piss off your 2 million+ hardcore fans
Guest netslob Posted February 21, 2002 Report Posted February 21, 2002 WWF officials weren't exactly thrilled with David Arquette getting on last week's Smackdown in Los Angeles and holding up a sign that read "former world champion". ha ha ha, it's funny becuz it's TRUE!!!
Guest cobainwasmurdered Posted February 21, 2002 Report Posted February 21, 2002 david arquette was the greatest world champion ever, he put ric flair to shame with his great ring work and fabulous mic skills.

Or at the very least, non-hater (maybe "mark" is too strong a word). I thought David Arquette was funny as hell in the Scream movies, and it's hilarious that the WWF is trying to whitewash his title reign. As dreamer420 said, I hope he shows up everywhere with his sign.

Yeah, David Arquette was great in Scream and have you seen him in "Buffy The Vampire Slayer" the film, he was good in the small role he had in that. He should definatly take that sign everywhere the WWF goes, lol, imagine how pissed the WWF would get at him! I was a hardcore WCW fan anyway but I actually enjoyed his run as champion. His promos sucked and it destroyed the credibility of the World Title, but I enjoyed it. (LOL, WCW World Title History, great names like Hogan, Sting, Flair, Luger and.... David Arquette!!!)
Guest jimmy no nose Posted February 22, 2002 Report Posted February 22, 2002 I thought I saw him but I didn't hear any mention of it. It's pretty funny that the WWF would be pissed about that. On the subject of Arquette's good performances, he was great in Airheads. He worked perfectly into that role.
Guest cabbageboy Posted February 22, 2002 Report Posted February 22, 2002 This might sound weird but David Arquette was actually involved in what I thought was the best WCW match of 2000: the triple cage thingy with him, Jarrett, and DDP. How sad was it that he never even really got his ass kicked for the belt? He actually turned heel and helped Jarrett win it.
Guest BradshawDaHoss Posted February 22, 2002 Report Posted February 22, 2002 he was a pretty good wreslter. i bet he coud kick Tazzs short ass.
Guest HybridNetwork Posted February 22, 2002 Report Posted February 22, 2002 Actually, on that SmackDown! Jerry Lawler did mention that David Arquette was there, they just didn't put the legendary world champion on camera. What's wrong with them? That's life refusing to put Shawn Michaels on camera, the man is a former world champ, he deserves respect. What? Why are you laughing at me?

I suppose I would like him more if in real life he didn't seem just as retarded as every character he plays. Accomplished actor? That doesn't sound right.
Guest Ghast Posted February 24, 2002 Report Posted February 24, 2002 Why didn't they mention Arquett? They didn't have to say he was former world champ.
