Live from Calgary... Alberta, Canada, it's In Your House: Canadian Stampede!

Commentators: Vince McMahon, JR, & The King

---

Canadian Stampede is at the height of the original USA vs. Canada angle. Tonight, the Hart Foundation returns home to Calgary as the massively over fan-favorites, and all those fan-favorites here in the USA, like Steve Austin, Ken Shamrock, Legion of Doom, & Goldust come in as the hated heels. The crowd is pumped up, so let's get started.

Opening Match- Hunter Hearst Helmsley vs. Mankind

This is the rematch from the KOTR Finals, as HHH beat Mankind to win the crown. They start off with a slugfest, won by Mankind. He hits a scoop slam and follows up with leg drop and DDT. Cactus Elbow gets two. Mankind tosses him outside, so HHH starts to walk off. Mankind chases up the ramp. Mankind hits a suplex on the steel ramp. Mankind heads in. HHH jumps on the apron and attempts a sunset flip, but Mankind locks in the Mandible Claw! Chyna saves him by attacking Mankind, so he goes after her. HHH saves her now, with a clothesline outside. HHH Irish whips Mankind, but Chyna catches and hiptosses him into the stairs! HHH brings him back in, working the knee. He locks Mankind in the Figure-Four, and uses the ropes for leverage. He gets two, as the ref suspects HHH is using the ropes. Finally, he gets caught, so the ref kicks HHH off. Mankind with a lowblow, and both are down. Mankind gets up puts him in the corner, hitting the charging knee blow! He puts HHH in the tree of woe, and drops the elbow. Pulling piledriver gets two. Mankind clotheslines HHH out. Chyna distracts the ref, so HHH nails Mankind in the knees with a chair! The ref barely sees it, so he confronts HHH. Meanwhile, Chyna gets a clothesline in! Mankind's in, as HHH goes up top. Mankind gets up and locks in the Mandible Claw! Chyna again saves, as both fall outside. They brawl on the floor, and into the crowd, earning a Double-Countout, at 13:09. Great opener for the show... ***3/4.

Footage of the Hart Foundation touring Calgary, from parades to autograph sessions at the local Burger King.

Backstage, Dok Hendrix interviews the Hart Foundation, when Steve Austin comes in trying to get at them. He's held back by two guys, though, as Bret says that they want 5-on-5, not 5-on-1.

Taka Michinoku vs. Great Sasuke

One of the WWF's first Light-Heavyweight matches, although the title wouldn't come until December. Before the match can begin, cameras takes us to HHH & Mankind still brawling in the crowd! HHH is backdropped in the Penalty Box! They fight under some scaffolding, as the bell rings.

Grapple to start, and Taka takes it into an armbar. Sasuke counters, and hits a spin kick. Sasuke locks in a half-crab, and follows up with some kicks. Taka makes a comeback planting Sasuke on his face. He hits the diving dropkick to the face, twice. Sasuke manages to backdrop Taka outside, and he follows up with a springboard! Back inside, Sasuke sits Taka in the corner, and hits somemore vicious kicks. Sasuke is thrown out, and Taka hits a springboard plancha! Back inside, Sasuke goes for a German suplex, but Taka counters and hits a hurricanrana for two. Sasuke elbows him out and goes on the apron. Asai Moonsault! They go back in, and Taka hits a suplex for two. Springboard dropkick gets two for Taka. Taka hits the Michinoku Driver, but it only gets two! Taka goes to the top, but Sasuke nails him with a dropkick on his way down! Moonsault follows for two. Sasuke hits the Thunder-Fire Bomb, and a Tiger Suplex, to get the win, at about 10: 00. Whew... great match. It's too bad that they didn't keep Sasuke around for the division. Match was great, though. ****

Cameras take us outside behind the arena, where Mankind & HHH are still brawling. Pedigree attempt on a steel crate or something, but Mankind backdrops him. They're finally separated.

Footage of Ahmed Johnson, Undertaker's original opponent for tonight. See, Ahmed turned his back on Taker weeks earlier by joining the Nation. But, as usual, Ahmed got injured, thus, losing his title shot.

---

Dok Hendrix interviews Ahmed's replacement for tonight, Vader, along with Paul Bearer. Paul Bearer does all the talking. He shows footage of the 1997 Royal Rumble, where Vader pinned Undertaker after a Vader Bomb. One week ago on Raw, though, Paul Bearer revealed to the world the story about how Undertaker "burned" down his house, and Kane is still alive. I have it on tape, too. It all comes to a big climax on that show when Vader faces Rockabilly!

WWF Championship- Undertaker © vs. Vader

Undertaker pummels Vader to begin, hitting him into the corner. Big corner splash for two. He hits the ropewalk for two. Vader Irish whips him and goes for the clothesline, but Taker ducks it and hits the flying clothesline! Vader goes into a headlock, but Taker gets out of it, and hits Vader outside. Vader tosses Taker into the stairs, as he goes back in. Taker's on the apron, and he hits the neck snap, and goes up top. He hits a flying clothesline for two. Taker hits an uppercut, hitting Vader out again. Paul Bearer starts shouting right at Taker with his "Murderer!"s and such. Taker chases Paul Bearer, but Vader jumps him from behind. Back inside, Vader hits the standing splash, and he goes to the second rope, hitting a flying clothesline. A splash gets two, and he locks in a headlock. Taker comes out, and hits a flurry of jabs. Taker goes for the chokeslam, but Vader goes low. Taker scoops him up for the Tombstone, but Vader uses his weight to come over him, but Taker goes over him for two. Vader slams him down, and sets up for the Vader Bomb. Taker gets up, and lowblows him. He follows up with a chokeslam off the second rope for two. Another chokeslam gets two. Finally, Taker hits the Tombstone to finish him off, at 12:36. Crowd goes nuts for Taker, because afterall, he's not feuding with the Harts... not yet. Another good match tonight. ***1/4

Summerslam, live August 3! Plus, the Summerslam Million Dollar Chance! I won that you know. Although I never entered the contest, I was able to pick out the right key on the night of Summerslam.

Video package for 10-Man Tag Team Main Event. Bret Hart is sick of the USA and their so-called heroes like Austin, Shawn Michaels, LOD, and whoever else. The Hart Foundation made the challenge for this match at KOTR. Finally, one week, Austin, Shamrock, LOD, & Goldust were all involved in a brawl with the Harts. Goldust made the suggestion of teaming, so we have the main event.

---

Backstage, Team USA is interviewed by Dok Hendrix. He gets words from everyone except Austin, who just walks away.

The Canadian National Anthem is played.

Main Event, 10-Man Tag Team Match- The Hart Foundation: Bret Hart, Owen Hart, British Bulldog, Jim Neidhart, & Brian Pillman vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin, Ken Shamrock, Goldust, & Legion of Doom

Every single person gets his own entrance. The crowd just loves the Hart Foundation, despite two of them (Bulldog & Pillman) being from Britain & America. Austin is basically booed out of the building. Just a note during Goldust's entrance. Vince informs us that Marlena isn't here because she is taking care of a sick Dakota at home. "She's a super-mom at home, and when she's in Goldust's corner, she's a super-corner-person!" It's called a manager, Vince. Anyway, to the match. A big faceoff between the teams starts, and Bret & Austin immediately get into a slugfest. Bret wins, taking Austin into the corner. Austin escapes with a lowblow, drawing some massive, if not already, heat from the crowd. Austin hits an inverted atomic drop, and locks in the Cobra Clutch. Bret tries the Survivor Series '96 spot, where he runs up the turnbuckle and rolls over for the pin. It gets only two. Austin chokes Bret on the second rope, and misses the running drop. Bret tags in Neidhart, who gets a Lou Thesz Press. Austin tags in Shamrock. Neidhart makes an idiot of himself by trying to shoot fight with Shamrock. Neidhart ducks a spinkick, but gets hit with one immediately after. Shamrock locks in the Ankle Lock, but Pillman makes the save, getting cheered. Pillman is tagged in and hits constant cheapshots, but the crowd is just eating it up! Pillman with a backbreaker, and he mocks Shamrock by making his hand tap. He says, "He's tapping out!" Funny stuff. Shamrock hits a belly-to-belly, and they both tag out. Goldust & Owen Hart come in. Owen corners Goldust, and hits the enziguri for two. An "Austin Sucks!" chant starts up. They just detest him, don't they? Hawk is tagged in. He hits a legdrop for two, and follows up with a splash for two. Owen just barely locks in the Sharpshooter, but Animal saves. Bulldog is tagged in, and hits the hanging vertical suplex on Hawk, as JR goes nuts... "Look at the Strength! Look at the Strength!" Bret & Animal go next. Bret totally outwrestles him, and Goldust comes back in. Goldust gets caught in the Hart Foundation's corner, and is beat-down by five guys. Everyone comes in for a brawl. When it's all said and done, it's Owen & Animal back. Owen hits the spinning heel kick for two. Hurricanrana is countered into a powerbomb by Animal. Powerslam, and LOD hit Owen with the Doomsday Device! Animal covers, but Pillman saves, and again, everyone comes in for a brawl. This time, Austin goes outside and takes the fallen Owen to the corner, where he posts him and works on the knee. He rams it against the post, and whacks it a few times with a chair, before Bret saves. Bret shouts for help. Owen is helped into the back, giving Team USA the 5-on-4 advantage. Bret pummels Austin in the corner, and Pillman is tagged. Austin hits a Stunner, but Bret pulls him to the corner and works his knee with a fire extinguisher and the post. Now, Austin is helped into the back, making it an even 4-on-4. Back inside, Bulldog & Hawk go. Hawk heads up top, only to be crotched. Superplex, and Animal & Neidhart are tagged in. Test of strength, which Animal kicks his way out of. Shamrock is tagged in, as is Bret. Bret is caught in the corner, as Shamrock pummels away with kicks and jabs. Pillman sneaks in and clotheslines for more cheers. Shamrock is knocked to the outside, and Pillman throws him over the Spanish announce table. Back in, Bret hits Shamrock with a Russian Legsweep. Bulldog comes in and stomps away at Shamrock in the corner. The crowd loves it. Shamrock hits a lowblow out of desperation. Goldust is tagged in, and he hits a bulldog on the Bulldog. Makes sense. Curtain Call set-up, but Pillman saves. He's loving every moment of this match. Goldust goes up top, but Bulldog superplexes him down. Both men are down, as Steve Austin limps his way down to the ring. Hot tag to Austin, and a hot tag to Bret. Slugfest, just as the match started, with Austin winning. Suplex for two. Bret hits the DDT and second rope elbow. Sleeper, but Austin counters with a jawbreaker. Bret makes a comeback, nearly locking in the Sharpshooter. Animal makes the save. Austin takes control, and locks in his own Sharpshooter on Bret! Meanwhile, Owen Hart makes his way down to the ring, and make the save. Owen is tagged in, and they fight outside. Bruce Hart, who's in the front row, throws a soda at Austin. Austin tries pulling Stu Hart out of the audience, and all the Hart family members come out. Team USA is now fighting off the Hart Foundation and the Family members. Austin heads back in and is looking outside. Suddenly, Owen comes from behind, and rolls him up for the pin, at 24:30! HUGE pop for that! The fight continues for a minute more, as Team USA makes their way to the back. Match was great, especially with the crowd being into it so much. They cheered at every move the Harts made, and they booed at every move Austin made. ***** definitely.

The entire Hart family starts to fill the ring for a celebration. Suddenly, Austin runs back in with a chair, taking out Neidhart. Referees restrain him, and cops handcuff and escort him out. Even though he's cuffed, Austin flips off the entire crowd, while getting garbage thrown at him. The PPV goes off the air with the entire ring being filled with Harts. Jerry Lawler says, "Stu & Helen are responsible for this!"

What a great show! Every match was watchable, with the worst match being at ***1/4. The 10-Man Tag is truely something special. The crowd was jacked for the entire event, no matter what was happening. This was definitely one of 1997's greatest shows. I'll definitely say...
