Guest Daredevil21 Report post Posted August 1, 2002 The only problem I have with it is that it gets old to see different people review the same shows so much. Yes, WM X is a classic show, but it shouldn't be the only tape you even consider doing a review on, because quite honestly, it's boring to read essentially the same thing from five or more people. Nothing against you, but there isn't really anything most people can do to make their review of a show that much different than someone else's review of the same show. Personally, when I look for tapes to review or reviews to read, I always look for something that I haven't really seen, or to put it a better way, the more obsceure, the better. Anyone can review WM X cause it's a great show, or WM IX cause it's a bad show, but it's more fun to read a review of a lesser known show or tape.

Then search the archives at www.thesmartmarks.com for my review of AWA Wrestlerock 86...the rant SK is afraid to do. Or he just hasn't gotten around to it. Either way. Guest HartFan86 Report post Posted August 1, 2002 Goodear, I was shocked you gave both Owen/Bret and HBK/Razor ****. What does it take to get a ***** from you, dude...cause both of those are almost the best your gunna get in a techincal match and a gimmick match.

Well, to be honest, you pretty much have to strike a balance between tapes that are neat but most people aren't going to be able to find and tapes most people have seen but new people can still find in their local video store. So yeah, if you've been a fan for 10 years, there's no doubt in my mind you've seen this tape and know it from front to back. But if you're just getting started as a fan, maybe you haven't. For the older fans, thats why I include the little mini-columns and the "Why did this match get Blah, Blah, Blah." Next time I'll do a more obscure Collesium tape or something for the fans of the less known... WWF Superheros? Maybe I'll take a poll once I go to my archives and pick out some of the lesser known tapes I own.

Well, its not like you can't look at the column and find out my minor problems with those matches, I give that discussion it's very own heading Anyway, when I can't pick out a single problem with a match is when I give it 5 snowflakes... we're talking Flair-Steamboat levels of greatness there. Basically, I generally think people throw the stars around a little too freely in matches. **** is certainly not something to be ashamed of since I'm not going to be handing them out to every Chris Benoit match or anything like that. Guest nWoScorpion Report post Posted August 2, 2002 Shameless self promoting, the worst thing besides cigarettes.
Guest Goodear Report post Posted August 2, 2002 Cigarettes are good for you, they put zinc in them and junk... Anyway, I've learned that if you don't promote yourself, no one else will. Especially when you aren't very good... like me.

Well I'am a puromark, and would give them both ****1/2. Cause I think they were at least MOTYC. I do agree that people throw the stars around a bit to freely now days.
