Guest Black Tiger Report post Posted August 1, 2002 Does anyone here think that NOAH will last much longer in its current state. Omori, and Akiyama are in the doghouse, despite being better than most of the whole roster Taue, is getting too old and is doing comedy six man tags Vader and Kobashi both need to call it quits Misawa is pushing young guys, just the WRONG young guys. GHC Champion is Yoshinari Ogawa The only young wrestler who is an established star is Takayama and he's working NJ shows now. The co-promotion with AJ is all but out the window now that Mutoh is getting control.
Guest Dangerous A Report post Posted August 1, 2002 It looks bleak, but I think they can survive. Will they survive is a different thing. I think Misawa has to step down as booker, or at least get some people to help him because that is glaring to me.
Guest PlatypusFool Report post Posted August 1, 2002 I dunno, I think they are still getting a decent amount of people paying to see their shows, although god knows why. I guess, even if they not good wrestlers anymore, Misawa, Kobashi and Taue still draw money on name value alone.
Guest PlatypusFool Report post Posted August 2, 2002 I've just reviewed NOAH's Great Voyage show from 2000 for 411wrestling.com, a bit out of date maybe but my opinions are still valid. Check it out, links in the sig.
Guest BigPoppaKev Report post Posted August 2, 2002 I think NOAH can survive for a long while. But with saying that they can survive but I don't know how much money they can make while still surviving. Look at WCW they survived for about 2 or 3 years while losing money. Even in NOAH breaks even they can survive. They are still drawing pretty decent crowds. Even though people like Misawa,Taue,Vader, etc; are on the downside of their careers they can still draw. And if Akiyama,Takayama,Omori,Marufuji are all (re)built they can survive long term.
Guest Ph34r Tha Leaf Report post Posted August 3, 2002 It's a shame if it dies. All these feds dropping out is...well, not a good sign.
Guest wolverine Report post Posted August 5, 2002 People saying Akiyama is good in 2002 is getting awfully stale. If you like Akiyama, 1996 is your year, end of story.
