Guest The Czech Republic Posted August 1, 2002 Report Posted August 1, 2002 There's been talk between the Turkic nations to unify themselves into one singular state, as their many ethnic groups are very closely related, and it would help strengthen their economies. If Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan were to combine into one country, named Turkestan, or The Alliance(that would be funny), how would that affect world affairs, if at all?

All I know is that Kazahstan is a real nuclear power. I don't know what effect it would have on that region.
Guest Invader3k Posted August 1, 2002 Report Posted August 1, 2002 First of all, it would be a huge country, but since many of those countries have very weak economies, I don't know if they'd exactly be a super power for quite a while. But they probably could dominate their region...
Guest Invader3k Posted August 1, 2002 Report Posted August 1, 2002 Btw, "Czech Republic", if you have a hyperlink or could paste an article regarding this proposed unification, I would appreciate it. Stories like this always intrigue me for some reason.
Guest danielisthor Posted August 1, 2002 Report Posted August 1, 2002 i would like a link to the story as well. i would find it very interesting as far as world politics are concerned. The unification would create a huge country that could effect the entire region, mainly China on its western Boarder, Russia and its mainly muslim neighbors to the south. They would also control a huge portion of the caspian sea.
