Guest Karnage Posted August 1, 2002 Report Posted August 1, 2002 Does anyone else not like lettuce, tomato and stuff on their burgers? It doesn't really add anything to it. The only times I keep everything in a burger intact is when I get a Wendy's Bacon Mushroom Melt and I sometimes keep the onions on a Quarter Pounder from Mcdonald's.
Guest areacode212 Posted August 1, 2002 Report Posted August 1, 2002 I'm the exact opposite. The more crap on my burger, the better I like it. This thread and seeing that Canadian flag in your sig makes me miss Harvey's, where I used to order all-dressed hamburgers during many of the summers I spent in Canada as a teenager!
Guest Kinetic Posted August 1, 2002 Report Posted August 1, 2002 I've never understood the meat & bun mentality. Why even bother getting anything?
Guest The Electrifyer Posted August 1, 2002 Report Posted August 1, 2002 A friend of mine always ordered burgers from BK without Lettuce, Tomatoes or Onions and he complains about the pickles. I never really understood why you would buy a burger consistin bread, meat & mayo. I, on the other hand, always eat a burger with everything thats supposed to be in there, in there. Only at Subway, I might ask not to have a certain something.
Guest kkktookmybabyaway Posted August 1, 2002 Report Posted August 1, 2002 I always get a burger w/o onions, but with just about everything else. It fills me up more, so my reason for stacking up a perfectly good piece of meat w/ veggies is an economical one.
Guest Spaceman Spiff Posted August 1, 2002 Report Posted August 1, 2002 I always tell them to hold all that extra crap. I never get just a plain burger, usually either a cheese burger (McD's) or bacon-cheese burger (Wendy's). When I fix up a plain burger at home, I pour on the A1. That stuff's awesome. The other stuff just detracts from the burger. I hate ketchup, I never put mayo on any sandwich (except mixed in tuna fish), don't like pickels, don't like raw onions on sandwiches, and don't like tomatoes like that. Yes, I'm a *very* picky eater.
Guest redbaron51 Posted August 1, 2002 Report Posted August 1, 2002 mayo ketchup pickles and lettuce goes on my burger. I don't like tomatoes or onions on my burger
Guest Shaved Bear Posted August 1, 2002 Report Posted August 1, 2002 i strip my burger of everything but the meat cheese, and condiment if placed on already
Guest hardyz1 Posted August 1, 2002 Report Posted August 1, 2002 Bun Meat Cheese Ketchup Period. I hate pretty much all raw vegetables.
Guest DerangedHermit Posted August 1, 2002 Report Posted August 1, 2002 I usually get burgers with extra pickles and onions, and no cheese. Funny story: one of my neighbors used to get tacos at Taco Bell with just CHEESE.
Guest razazteca Posted August 1, 2002 Report Posted August 1, 2002 only lettuce is edible to me, besides ketchup is a veggie....its made from tomato.
Guest NoCalMike Posted August 2, 2002 Report Posted August 2, 2002 For me it depends. When I eat fast food, I don't mind if the burger contains meat, cheese, and bun only, but when I make them at home I pack, lettuce, onion, pickles, tomato mustard...etc...on them.
Guest phoenixrising Posted August 2, 2002 Report Posted August 2, 2002 Take out all the veggies and add another meat pattie. All is well. I usually take out the onions, tomato and pickle unless it's the Carl's Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger then I leave the onion rings in.
Guest El Satanico Posted August 2, 2002 Report Posted August 2, 2002 I don't special order burgers at fast food. But if it's sloppy i'll take off the tomato and some of the onions. But if it's a burger that you have to special order like at a resturant i usually won't bother with veggies. The perfect burger to me has cheddar cheese, bacon and bbq sauce and nothing else. I also like trying speciality burgers at resturants and i never put the veggies that they bring on when i put it together.
Guest Your Olympic Hero Posted August 2, 2002 Report Posted August 2, 2002 Junior Bacon Cheeseburger from Wendy's consisting of the burger, bacon, cheese, and the bun. BEST FOOD EVER
Guest Sandman9000 Posted August 2, 2002 Report Posted August 2, 2002 I never keep tomatoes on anything I have. However, I could drink ketchup out of the bottle and I love salsa. I don't get it.
Guest LexLugerRules Posted August 4, 2002 Report Posted August 4, 2002 BUN MEAT PICKLES LETTUCE KETCHUP MUSTARD THATS MY BURGER, YUM YUM YUM!
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Posted August 4, 2002 Report Posted August 4, 2002 Im an everything or nothing type person... Either every single condiment you can get, or none at all..(cept cheese of course)
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted August 16, 2002 Report Posted August 16, 2002 Tomatoes are something I'm kind of weird about, I like them all chopped up on stuff like tacos and nachos, but I can't stand the big slices on sandwiches. Pickles are also the single most disgusting food on the planet. I would eat two plates of Haggis before one pickle. Other than that, I can eat just about anything a burger place can stick on a burger. I can eat almost anything though. Many nights in college dining on Ramen noodle surprise taught me to eat what you can get, because you don't know when you're gonna be munching on a mixture of Original and Shrimp ramen mixed together. I heard a great comedian talking about foods like "I can't believe it's not butter!" and other things with similar names. He suggested that Ramen be forever known as "Help! I can't afford dinner!"
Guest bigsheep_305 Posted August 23, 2002 Report Posted August 23, 2002 I've been called the weirdest eater my wife has ever known. On my burger, I eat bread, meat, and ketchup. Period. Nothing else. Except Sonic, where I add mustard SOMETIMES. And I don't eat sandwiches. My mother used to fix sandwiches for her and my dad, but for me she would have to fix a "pretty plate", with the lettuce, tomato, cheese, and whatever meat arranged "prettily" around the plate. I've sent back hamburgers that had cheese on them when I didn't order that, or told them to take it off. And the strange part of it it, I can eat cheese by the POUND when i'ts by itself. One of my favorite htings is to just fry me up some cheddar and eat it right there. I told you I'm a weird eater...
Guest The Metal Maniac Posted August 24, 2002 Report Posted August 24, 2002 Meat in a bun, plus salt and pepper. That's all I'll eat on a burger, unless I make it at home, at which point I'll pour on some BBQ sauce or something just for shits and giggles. Other then that, I only eat Wendy's Spicy Chicken burgers. I always ask for no tomato, but leave the lettuce on, because it helps to deaden the deathly spice of the chicken. And the mayo ain't bad. I know a guy who hates pickles, but will never ask for no pickles. He just takes the pickles off by hand. His reasoning? He likes the pickle juice left behind.

I never special order them either, but that's only because I'm still going to look whether I special order or not, so I might as well just pick the offensive green bastards off myself.
Guest Mr. Slim Citrus Posted August 24, 2002 Report Posted August 24, 2002 I always eat my burger with whatever comes on it; the closest thing that I have to an idiosyncracy about food is the fact that I like fresh tomatoes, but hate ketchup. My wife, on the other hand, will only eat burgers with ketchup on them, and it bugs me in ways I can't explain. It's gotten to the point where I make her order all the time, because I hate saying, "and a cheeseburger, with only ketchup..."
Guest EricMM Posted August 25, 2002 Report Posted August 25, 2002 Veggies are good for you, you should eat them you know... VITAMINS!!! Raw onions can be bad for my stomach of course so I do take them off. Now grilled, carmalized onions are the best. tomatos are fine, Lettuce in reasonable amounts is helpful for a crunch, (or romaine lettuce for flavor) then there's the subway stuff, like green peppers, mushrooms, cheese, banana peppers, hots, pickles. It's all good! The only problems would be an overuse of gloppy condiments. PS Ketchup is not a vegitable it's a FRUIT!!
Guest dreamer420 Posted August 27, 2002 Report Posted August 27, 2002 I agree with Karnage on this one. Too much crap on a burger ruins it for me. I like to be able to taste the hamburger.
Guest saturnmark4life Posted September 8, 2002 Report Posted September 8, 2002 yeah, i do't take all of the crap off just some of it, i like it but i never want as much as they put on.
