Guest razazteca Report post Posted August 1, 2002 I was looking at my RF Video Update propaganda catalog and noticed that Ring of Honor is now on DVD. Since DVD is suppose to be a better picture quality meduim will this be any better than the VHS. Should I still consider the possiblity of the product not showing up, due to there stigma of shipping problems?
Guest Karnage Report post Posted August 1, 2002 Their shoot interviews have such bad video/sound quality...
Guest franchise632 Report post Posted August 1, 2002 I dont think a DVD can help footage shot on crappy equipment. ECW DVDs look so great on DVD because they used good equipment to shoot it, but it didnt come across as well on TV. So I doubt it would be a marked improvment. Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted August 1, 2002 If they sat there and remastered them all...but they won't. And if they aren't in stores...I'm still not buying them. Take note WWE...stupid DVD's on shopzone.
Guest Incandenza Report post Posted August 1, 2002 Great. They'll probably charge something like $50 for a DVD, given their ludicrously overpriced videos.
Guest razazteca Report post Posted August 1, 2002 the Update catalog price is the DVD is $24.95 before shipping and handling. Has anybody seen the ROH tapes? are they made with fan cams, does it have a public access feel to it or is it done with professional camera crew? it has 5 matches that I would like to see but I am worried about waisting $30 on something that is amature video. Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted August 1, 2002 I haven't bought from RF video in a long time...anything I want by them now I just pick up 2nd hand from a trader and I reccomend everyone do the same. THe shipping and the price are lightyears better
Guest razazteca Report post Posted August 1, 2002 the only RF videos I ever bought was at the mall...over priced and at a local indy show.
Guest J*ingus Report post Posted August 1, 2002 The quality will probably be roughly the same as CZW's multi-camera shoots.
Guest razazteca Report post Posted August 1, 2002 Jingus is that a good thing?
Guest J*ingus Report post Posted August 2, 2002 Well, they won't be nearly as slick as WWE, but it won't be as stupid as the WWA's boneheaded mistakes or as cheap & grainy as RF's earlier shoots. It'll probably look a lot like ECW's earlier shows.
Guest Dangerous A Report post Posted August 2, 2002 I own the first ROH tape and the quality is like ECW 94-95. If you are concentrating on the in ring and not how many fans are there or the audio, then you should be fine. The first tape is worth the $24.95 IMO. I am skeptical of buying the other tapes until I hear more about them from a critique standpoint. I would wait to hear how the shows are before getting any DVD's from RF. I have never experienced any shipping problems with RF video so this is the first I've heard about it. The first tape "Era of Honor Begins" has the Match of the Year so far.(American Dragon vs Low Ki vs Christopher Daniels)
Guest razazteca Report post Posted August 2, 2002 I want Road to the Title 6/22/02 on DVD. X Division, some British, and indy stars are on this event.
