Guest The Czech Republic Report post Posted August 1, 2002 Of the Original 16, which do you like the most? First of all, I hate that freaking Ryu so much. The CPU makes him a near-god in SSF2. I always liked Sagat and Vega, especially for the wall climb. Fei Long is the game's best kept secret. You can can get double-perfects using only double-kicks and throws. NOBODY I knew used Fei Long though.
Guest Big McLargeHuge Report post Posted August 1, 2002 I used to use Guile almost religously, but I've grown out of his moveset and have preferred Ken/Ryu/Sagat since. Always hated Zangief. His moves were nearly impossible for me to pull off. Especially because I never played as him in the arcades. Using the d-pad on a console made it a once in a blue moon occassion with the exception of his whirling clothesline thing.
Guest Sakura Report post Posted August 1, 2002 Ryu. But I love the entire cast, except T. Hawk. I'm going to have a SF II arcade machine soon. I'm buying a Super SF II Turbo board for my CPS 2 cabinet next week.
Guest C.H.U.D. Report post Posted August 1, 2002 The only characters I ever use are Baraka and Balrog. Unconventional fighters rock!
Guest KoR Fungus Report post Posted August 1, 2002 I always liked Bison, Ryu and Sagat. I've always hated Zangief, and I hate him even more now since he created the big slow throw character archetype, which I hate. Ugh. Throws are for wrestling games. Guest EricMM Report post Posted August 1, 2002 Whatever. I'd pick Ken and Zengief. Well 'Geif in the older versions which were slower and more his pace. Now that characters can roll, warp, and possibly split in two, I'd say Ken just needs to clean house with a dragon punch. What more can you say?
Guest razazteca Report post Posted August 1, 2002 Honda was the best in the old SFII game Headbutt, throw, then hit them with the 1000 palm strike....trapping people in the corner was fun. Same thing works with Chun Li
Guest KANE Report post Posted August 1, 2002 Bison. He's so great, and I can fight so cheap with him. I hate Dhalsim. Even with his great reach, he just gets his ass kicked.
Guest Sandman9000 Report post Posted August 1, 2002 Sagat kicks more ass then he should legally be allowed too. The four from SSF2 are useless. Only Cammy has any value. I always liked Gouki once he came around, however.
Guest J*ingus Report post Posted August 1, 2002 I always thought that Ken was just as good as Ryu, and was unfairly stuck in his white-garbed clone's shadow. As for hated, Bison easily. He was always unfairly hard under the CPU's control, but instantly turned to a chode-smoking girly man whenever I took control of him.
Guest NazMistry Report post Posted August 1, 2002 Ryu or Sagat always did the job for me. I hated Vega and Chun Li.
Guest What? Report post Posted August 2, 2002 Ken was, and always will be, my favorite. Not only was he the best in the damn game, he has my name I hated Vega. That Long haired girly-man was only cool when he climbed the cage of his stage. I hated him because he was so easy to beat even when he had the damn claw...what a pussy. Guest Sandman9000 Report post Posted August 2, 2002 Ken was good, until MvsSF. Fireball goes three feet? Hurricane Kick goes at a 45 degree angle? Gets his ass handed to him by Shuma Gorath? WTF?
Guest Just call me Dan Report post Posted August 2, 2002 Akuma and Sagat rule. Ryu is the easiest to win. I hate Dhalsim and Blanka. Baraka was the ugly thing from MK2 right?
Guest Singular Report post Posted August 2, 2002 Baraka was the guy in Mortal Kombat2 with the blades in his arms. I always used Sagat, and Dhalsim. Once you figure out the teleport, Yoga Flame combo he becomes much better.

Ken is ass and so are all of the players who have faced me with Ken. Ryu is king, always has been, always will be. Jingus, Bison can be dominant.....but the computer has that bullshit "no need to charge" thing working for it too. Dames
Guest nWoScorpion Report post Posted August 2, 2002 Ryu, Ken Masters & Guile tie for my favorites. Least Favorite Dhalsim, too annoying to chase after.` Worst has to be Balrog. All he did were punches that hardly won a fight for me.
Guest The Czech Republic Report post Posted August 3, 2002 The four from SSF2 are useless. Only Cammy has any value. Hey, Fei Long is great too. Just double-kick, jump kick, and throw and you can beat everyone. He's lightning quick too. Cammy is good as well, like you said. Dee Jay and T. Hawk are of zero value. I was playing SSF2 on my emulator, and I put a save state in after losing to Bison so I could screw around and beat the game with everyone. Dee Jay could not get ONE hit on Bison. Sad. Guest Sakura Report post Posted August 4, 2002 Dee Jay is top tier in Super Turbo.
Guest PlatypusFool Report post Posted August 4, 2002 I like T.Hawk as well as the usual suspects. The tree-trunk like legs he had have won many a fight for me.
Guest saturnmark4life Report post Posted August 4, 2002 i hated the guy, but for a period no one could touch me on SS2 with SEAFARING BLUE KEN~!
Guest Insane Bump Machine Report post Posted August 5, 2002 Akuma/Gouki rules it, but I also like Sagat, Ryu, Guile and Chun-Li. Akuma's Raging Demon is the best move.ever.
Guest Just call me Dan Report post Posted August 6, 2002 I never actually saw the move pulled off. He'd go for ir, but never connect he'd just lunge forward and miss. Describe this excellent move if you can.
Guest Sakura Report post Posted August 6, 2002 That's just it, you never see it. He lunges forward and if he hits you, the screen goes out and you see 15 hit sparks and hear him beating you down. When it comes back you are down and Akuma is standing with his back turned. It looks especially cool if you KO them with it. His debut was doing that move. If you get to him in Super Street Fighter II Turbo he interupts the final match by doing it to Bison then takes his spot in the finals.

That pisses me off because the effects in SF Alpha 2 were awesome for example. It's just great when you finish someone with it, the screen explodes and Akuma stands over his fallen opponent looking like a badass while his symbol fills the screen. Guest Just call me Dan Report post Posted August 7, 2002 Sweet. I meant that I never saw him connect at all. I'mpretty sure when you perfrom it he makes his trademark grunt and lunges at you, but I'd bever seen it do anything after that. Thanks.
Guest saturnmark4life Report post Posted August 8, 2002 it's weird, i went through phases. The only guys i truly sucked with were ryu (never played as him) cammy, chun li, sagat and bison. My mate used to use bison all the time and just do his weakest punch like 10,000 times till you died. How the fuck that worked i don't know.
Guest Just call me Dan Report post Posted August 9, 2002 Oh, but if you get good with Sagat, you get REALLY good.
