Guest lomasmoney Posted August 1, 2002 Report Posted August 1, 2002 I watched this movie with my brother (Prototype 450) on FX or USA or whatever in the hell it was, i had just woke up. Anyway this was the 1:00 P.M. special. The movie was called Champions and it starred the World's Most Dangerous Man with the World's Most Dangerous Sideburns Ken Shamrock and some people only my brother (a b movie mark) would know. Ok, Shammy plays "the King" who is the reigning Champion of Terminal Fighting. He owes Max(Danny Trejo) 5 MILLION DOLLARS for a gambling debt. So Max kidnaps the King's wife and installs a chip on King's neck which gives Max the ability to tazer King at will. For added story, Billy played by some guy, wants revenge on Shammy for inadvertantly killing his brother Ray in a match. So then Max makes the Terminal Fighting Championships. The main guys are a female cop named "Pepper Peppers", some giant guy who reads the Wall Street Journal, some fitness lady who does no contact fighting on ESPN and Billy. Shamrock of course kills the no-named jobber fighters, and the ESPN girl gets "kneed in face" and dies. The trickster of karate slits the black guy's throat to win his match.Damn the brother dies again. Skip to the end. Shamrock's wife kills Max. Shammy and all the main fighters escape and get into a gun fight with Max's guards. Yes, ultimate fighters are also trained to used M-16s, Bazookas, and grenade launchers. It's funny to see Shamrock in boots and tights shooting guys with an M-16. The one guy manages to kill dozens of guards with two pistols, while the guards are wielding machine guns. So then they figure that they can't open the fence. So Shamrock comes across a handy grenade and rocket launcher. He utters a great 1 liner, "Better than a crowbar" and proceeds to place the grenade on the fence and blows it up. So then they meet the black guy's managers, who say,"If you get us out, we'll get you out"(wtf). So some shits happens and Shamrock spots 2 guards at the exit sitting on a inconspicous car, and Shamrocks utters an even greater 1 liner, "Let's have a barbeque", and proceeds to blow the goons the fuck up with the grenade launcher. Some more shit happens. The cop and the Billy fuck. The evil senator who i forgot to mention who organized the whole thing, does some shit and the movie ends. I would say that this movie is quite possibly a groundbreaking movie which mixes martial arts with action with bad acting and a really fucked up storyline but the movie is classic because Ken Shamrock is golden in it.
Guest Youth N Asia Posted August 1, 2002 Report Posted August 1, 2002 This movie is cool because it is SOOOOOOO bad. Shamrock shouldn't quit his day job. How lame was the cop name...they just wanted to say Sgt Pepper over and over again. I give it -**
Guest bob_barron Posted August 1, 2002 Report Posted August 1, 2002 Didn't the lady cop beat up some guy cause her partner was killed or something. Didn't Ken Shamrock have something on his face and they never explained what it was. Not that I've seen this movie or anything
Guest Youth N Asia Posted August 1, 2002 Report Posted August 1, 2002 The cop has a flashback and the guy she's fighting JUST HAPPENS TO BE the guy that killed and raped her partner...she goes O.J. on him...although he rapes the partner after killing her...creepy The thing on Shammys Neck was a tracking/tasering device...keeping homeboy in line
Guest razazteca Posted August 1, 2002 Report Posted August 1, 2002 I saw that movie, and I think one of the American Gladiators was in it also. It was one of the worst american martial arts movies ever, almost as bad as Shoot Fighter starring Joe Son as the evil owner. Frank Shamrock is a better actor and fighter than his brother with his apperance in either Walker Texas Ranger or Martial Law.
Guest lomasmoney Posted August 2, 2002 Report Posted August 2, 2002 Yes the movie was so bad it was good. This would rank up there with Son of the Pink Panther as one of the worst movies i've ever seen

You don't mean the Bolo Yeung "ShootFighter", with the kid from Karate Kid in it, do you? I love that movie...then again, I like a LOT of bad karate movies...
Guest razazteca Posted August 2, 2002 Report Posted August 2, 2002 yes I do have you seen the sequel? As for the Ken Shamrock movie all I can say is that it was a very bad ripoff of Best of the Best 2 which is a clone of a Bruce Lee movie.
Guest Zack Malibu Posted August 2, 2002 Report Posted August 2, 2002 Never saw ShootFighter 2. Doesn't it have something to do with a cop recruiting Bolo, Zabka and Bernardo to infiltrate a gang that killed his son or something?
