Guest Just call me Dan Posted August 1, 2002 Report Posted August 1, 2002 Are there going to be any new releases from Capcom involving Street Fighter, Marvel Superheroes, etc.? I really enjoy all of those fighting games, and I was wondering if there are any new games in development, or if any of the newer arcade versions are moving to PS2, X-Box or the Cube? Any help would be much appreciated.
Guest KoR Fungus Posted August 1, 2002 Report Posted August 1, 2002 Capcom vs SNK 2 is already on PS2. I'd recommend getting it if you haven't already. It's a perfect port, and then some. I haven't seen any new Capcom games at Playland, so I don't know if they've released any since Capcom vs SNK 2. But you can bet that if there are any new ones in the arcades, they'll be on a next gen system within a few months.
Guest Sandman9000 Posted August 1, 2002 Report Posted August 1, 2002 There has been talk about MVC3. Of course, there has always been talk about MVC3. I mean, what are they going to do, toss 100 characters into the game? How many Wolverine pallate swaps this time, 10? There has also been talk about Capcom vs. Bandai, using the Dragonball characters. This one seems wicked far-fetched, and I really won't believe it until I see it.
Guest Just call me Dan Posted August 2, 2002 Report Posted August 2, 2002 Dude, any fighting game or any game released in America at all involving the DBZ characters would sell like there was no tomorrow. Why haven't there ever been an games with Dragon Ball characters?
Guest Invader3k Posted August 2, 2002 Report Posted August 2, 2002 There was at least one DBZ fighting game for Playstation, but it pretty much sucked from the reviews I remember reading.
Guest Sakura Posted August 2, 2002 Report Posted August 2, 2002 Sadly, no. The SF III series did poorly even though 3rd Strike was critically acclaimed. There's been no word at all about a possible SF IV. As for the Versus series, well, there's just rumor. At E3 a Capcom rep said SNK's death won't effect the Capcom vs. SNK series but they didn't annouce a CvsS 3 or anything. They also hinted at an attempt to get the rights to DC comics, but again, nothing was annouced.
Guest starvenger Posted August 2, 2002 Report Posted August 2, 2002 They need some way to make a Marvel vs. Capcom vs. SNK three-way dance...
Guest Just call me Dan Posted August 2, 2002 Report Posted August 2, 2002 This makes me incredibly sad. Those 2-D fighters were so great. Why the hell does MK get a new game but Street Fighter (far superior) is left in the dust. Fucking crap.
Guest Sandman9000 Posted August 3, 2002 Report Posted August 3, 2002 I agree with the Capcom vs. Marvel vs. SNK. Keep the 3 on 3 style. Bump the characters up to 60, which sounds excessive, but is only 20 from each brand. Don't tell me this won't sell.
Guest Insane Bump Machine Posted August 5, 2002 Report Posted August 5, 2002 There are rumors of a Capcom vs. Capcom game, pitting characters from different Capcom series against each other.
