Guest JaKyL25 Report post Posted August 2, 2002 Thank you everyone for voting, and here are the results from the Round of 16! #1 Ric Flair vs. #16 The Giant The bigger they are, the harder they fall. Flair wins. 13-0 #2 Sting vs. #18 Ron Simmons I still say Steiner should have won over Simmons. Sting wins. 13-0 #3 Hulk Hogan vs. #14 Bill Goldberg The closest match in this round, Goldberg pulls out the upset, just like in real life! 7-6 #4 Booker T vs. #13 Bret Hart I'm one of the biggest Bret marks there is, but no way was he a better WCW Champ than Booker T. It seems you people agree. Booker wins. 10-3 #5 Kevin Nash vs. #21 David Arquette For awhile it looked like David's miracle run might continue, but Nash was just too much for him to handle. Nash prevails. 9-4 #6 Jeff Jarrett vs. #11 The Rock Okay, now that Rock is gone, all of the controversy should end. Jarrett wins. 10-3 #7 Randy Savage vs. #10 Lex Luger I have nothing much to say here. Savage wins. 9-4 #8 Big Van Vader vs. #9 "Diamond" Dallas Page Seeded closely due to both being 3-time champs, but let's be honest here--Vader had better reigns by FAR. Vader wins. 10-3 __________________________________________________________ Now, the Elite Eight WCW World Champions face off in the Quarterfinals of the WCW World Champions Tournament! Here are the match-ups: #1 Ric Flair vs. #8 Big Van Vader #2 Sting vs. #7 Randy Savage #4 Booker T vs. #5 Kevin Nash #6 Jeff Jarrett vs. #14 Bill Goldberg Interesting brackets. Can Goldberg's 2-0 Streak continue? Will Nash hold back Booker T? Can Flair topple the mighty Vader once again? Will Sting talk this year? Find out next time, in the WCW World Champions Tournament! Voting begins NOW, and ends after Raw on Monday.

Guest nl5xsk1 Report post Posted August 2, 2002 Ric Flair Sting Booker T Jeff Jarrett (Goldberg's 15 minutes of fame are easily forgotten. Not that JJ was any more memorable, but he's the lesser of two evils to me.)

Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted August 2, 2002 I'm riding Book all the way on this one too. Flair is the best NWA champ... But Book's WCW titles were something special.

Guest JaKyL25 Report post Posted August 3, 2002 Nope, sorry guys, it can't come down to Flair vs. Booker, since in the bracketing they would meet in the next round, should (Ha!) they both advance. I don't actually type the matches on here in their top-to-bottom order they are on the brackets, but rather in order of the highest seeds. The brackets are actually-- Flair vs. Vader Booker vs. Nash Goldberg vs. Jarrett Savage vs. Sting With the winners in those two groupings facing off. Sorry for the confusion.
