Guest mister foozel Report post Posted August 2, 2002 Mine is definitely the Greatest Hits, it compiles everything I love about Def Leppard. Their tenth album which was released not long ago ( X ), I am yet to hear and am wondering if anybody knows whether it's good or not. I've heard "Now" from that CD and it's OK, but i was expecting more.
Guest Doomsault Report post Posted August 2, 2002 The Vault, not sure if that's their greatest hits but it kicks ass.
Guest Edwin MacPhisto Report post Posted August 2, 2002 Amidst the metal and hard-rock loving crew of this board, I may get skewered, but: I hate Def Leppard. "Pour Some Sugar On Me" is cute, but I never got into the sort of odd cock-rockery that is Hysteria and so on. There was so much artifice to it all that I simply couldn't buy into it. Guest LooseCannon Report post Posted August 2, 2002 I'm with Edwin MacPhisto I'm somewhat shocked this thread was started with a straight face.
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted August 2, 2002 I also never cared for Def Leppard. I didn't know they had ten albums. How did they get ten albums put out. Or does that include greatest hits albums?
Guest Kinetic Report post Posted August 2, 2002 Def Leppard was actually enormously popular in their time and, along with Mutt Lang, revolutionized the art of applying cheesy studio gloss to bad rock music. So, yeah. The only good Def Leppard album is a...uh...broken Def Leppard album.
Guest Edwin MacPhisto Report post Posted August 2, 2002 Heh. Okay, maybe I didn't have to worry so much. I have listened to "Pour Some Sugar On Me" twice since posting, though. IN THE NAME OF LOOOVE!
Guest MaskedDanger Report post Posted August 2, 2002 Last night, Def Leppard played at the opening of a Wal-Mart about thirty minutes from my home. No, I'm not making this up.
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Report post Posted August 2, 2002 I'm with Edwin and Kinetic...be happy, because it's the only time... I fucking hate Def Leppard.
Guest La Parka Es Mi Papa Report post Posted August 2, 2002 Nyear, bite your tongues, Def Leppard kicks ass. Best album = Pyromania.
Guest Zack Malibu Report post Posted August 2, 2002 I too, like Def Leppard. And Vault is an all around great CD. Not one bad song on there.

I'd definitely go see Def Leppard play at the opening of a Wal-Mart. Just to see thirty year old women with frizzy 80's hair.
Guest snuffbox Report post Posted August 2, 2002 Island/DefJam appears to be putting some promotion behind the new Lep record...ads and i saw a new shitty video on VH1. This is really sad considering Island just dropped Relative Ash, easily one of the more talented bands in heavy music. I lump RA with Tool, System, One Minute Silence, and maybe Hatebreed as the very best. Of course theyre not whoring themselves to the gay masses so RA never got any decent promotion....now Def Queers get it all. Also Primer 55 just parted ways with island as well. Number one rule for success in music...BE GAY.
Guest pochorenella Report post Posted August 2, 2002 I like Def Leppard and I'm not ashamed to say it. Vault is a great all around record, true, but Pyromania is classic from top to bottom. Hysteria is very good also but I give the nod to Pyromania. So what if it's glossy and overproduced with layers and layers of guitars? It's fucking great music. And check out this week's Billboard Top Catalog Albums list, Def Leppard is number 2. People are still buying their records!
Guest mister foozel Report post Posted August 3, 2002 The Vault, not sure if that's their greatest hits but it kicks ass. Yeah it's called Vault. I dunno, people have their opinions I guess, but Pour Some Sugar on Me and Photograph are two of my favorite songs. Wal-Mart? Oh my god, no matter how much money that Wal-Mart guy has, when I hear the word Wal-Mart I know it means cheap. Yeah those old washed-up kinda bands like Def play anywhere these days. Kim Mitchell and I think it's April Wine play at bars in my hometown quite frequently. Their music still usually sounds good though, one good thing.

And with this comment you lose the privilege of making fun of other people's tastes, (like you did in the "your five favorite tracks of all time thread"). Guest LooseCannon Report post Posted August 3, 2002 Hey all I was saying is that anybody who lists Pour Some Sugar on Me and Photograph among their favorite songs has no right making fun of anybody else's musical tastes. If you don't like it, you can always have your mommy tell my mommy to yell at me.

Guest Slingshot Suplex Report post Posted August 6, 2002 Pyromania is easily their best.In fact, their first three albums are pretty good, especially High n Dry.After that it goes straight down the slide and hits the turd wall.

Guest saturnmark4life Report post Posted August 6, 2002 I live in Def Leppard's hometown of Sheffield here in the UK, incidentally. Those boys must hold the record for turning on our christmas lights. Now i've never really liked them, but for the fans, what do you think of their new song 'now' because as on objective music fan i found it to absolutely unlistenable.
