Guest BifEverchad Posted August 2, 2002 Report Posted August 2, 2002 For those who don't know, I recently took it upon myself to capitalize on this week's episode of RAW and copy the 'Un-Americans' gimmick and switch my avatar to an Upside Down American Flag. I did it because I thought it was witty at the time and would give the Un-Americans some support (even Test). But after a few short hours, all hell broke loose and people started crying bloody hell against me and my cyber group, The Canadian Alliance. And all because of that flag in my avatar apparently. People from Anglesault to Some Guy all the way to Angle-plex and Shaved Bear, took some sort of offense to it and it only turned ugly from there. Anyways, what was said is said. What was done is done. The avatar was taken down shortly afterwards and has since calmed down. I thank bob_barron for his support last night, but more importantly I honestly apologize to any and all of those who were offended by my avatar. It wasn't intented to cause a scene like it did, and I hope you all accept my apology. Sincerely, The Premier of the Canadian Alliance Bif
Guest bob_barron Posted August 2, 2002 Report Posted August 2, 2002 You're welcome. (realises this is nhb) cocksucking fag!
Guest Shaved Bear Posted August 2, 2002 Report Posted August 2, 2002 ummm...I was mentioned, so here's my rebuttal: yup
Guest Youth N Asia Posted August 2, 2002 Report Posted August 2, 2002 I didn't get mentioned Bah...let this die already...seems like the Canadians are the most interested in keeping this going on and on and on and on...
Guest papacita Posted August 2, 2002 Report Posted August 2, 2002 Um...at the risk of sounding naive, can someone tell me what's so disrespectful about an upside down flag???
Guest Ironman Posted August 2, 2002 Report Posted August 2, 2002 If you think that flag was offensive you all should take a look at Papacita's sig! Jesus Christ, but a back over the men-beast! *starts an Anti-Chyna group* Psst... her hands are covering her meat-missile if you didn't know.
Guest treble charged Posted August 2, 2002 Report Posted August 2, 2002 Um...at the risk of sounding naive, can someone tell me what's so disrespectful about an upside down flag??? That's what I've been thinking. The flag is not burning. No one is using it as a kleenex. No one is using it as toilet paper. It is simply upside down. It is NO BIG DEAL.

Guest The Amazing Rando Posted August 2, 2002 Report Posted August 2, 2002 i really don't see any wrong with the flag being upside down on RAW....i know it might bother some people...but I know that they are characters...and that it's fake...and leave it at that... let them have their fun....it's apparently made it interesting to watch again.... ...now I just hope this US posting vs. Canada posting stops soon
Guest J*ingus Posted August 2, 2002 Report Posted August 2, 2002 In theory, it's disrespectful, and breaks one of the five millions rules about how the American flag must be handled (along with the regulations about taking it down at sunset, folding it a specific way, not letting it touch the ground, etc) that were all invented in the 20th century.
Guest Some Guy Posted August 2, 2002 Report Posted August 2, 2002 I don't mind the flag being upside doen on Raw because it's a heatseeker, but I do mind it on the board for the same reason. Some of us love our country and as such dislike it when someone disrespects it or it's mosts recognized symbol. And I agree with Youth n Asia.
Guest BifEverchad Posted August 2, 2002 Report Posted August 2, 2002 I didn't get mentioned Bah...let this die already...seems like the Canadians are the most interested in keeping this going on and on and on and on... Although, I disagree with you thinking that its strictly the Canadians 'keeping this going', this is my point of making this thread, to end it once and for all.
Guest jimmy no nose Posted August 2, 2002 Report Posted August 2, 2002 The upside down flag is often considered a symbol of anarchy, so I could see how it could be offensive.
Guest Just call me Dan Posted August 2, 2002 Report Posted August 2, 2002 A Canadian vs America war on a wrestling internet board. One question WHY?
Guest LexLugerRules Posted August 2, 2002 Report Posted August 2, 2002 A Canadian vs America war on a wrestling internet board. One question WHY? I know, it's rubbish.
Guest nl5xsk1 Posted August 2, 2002 Report Posted August 2, 2002 At the risk of sounding like I'm blowing smoke up The Bif's ass, I think it's really cool that he would take the time to explain why he put up the avatar, and to apologize to a group of strangers on a wrestling message board. Hopefully this will put an end to the country-war, and we can all go back to talking about wrestling.
Guest Just call me Dan Posted August 2, 2002 Report Posted August 2, 2002 Oh No! Trouble in Team Canada! Seriously, this has to be the most pathetic stable ever. If you are going to form an allaince just because you live in the same country, why don't we start a wrestling alliance! Hey we all like wrestling!
Guest Syxx Posted August 2, 2002 Report Posted August 2, 2002 Because we have different opinions about wrestling, and wrestlers we enjoy and dislike, because of too many in-group tensions, our wrestling tribe would not be able to co-exist, wouldnt be too bad of an idea though if we actually had a place to invade so to speak. Now our Alliance can all agree that Canada is a great place to live, that hockey kicks ass, and that Canadian beer is best, that is why we have formed, and to pay tribute of course.
Guest Just call me Dan Posted August 2, 2002 Report Posted August 2, 2002 Funny none of those opinions have anything to do with WRESTLING, waht this board is mainly about. So if you guys have didferent opinions totally on subjects that MATTER, you'll still be an alliance because you're from CANADA! It just seems so kiddy to me, especially when the Team Canada angle has just been brought back on television. Kind of un-original and pointless don't you think?

You're apart of a group here, and we are another group here. So fucking what.
Guest Shaved Bear Posted August 2, 2002 Report Posted August 2, 2002 those northern northern parts of canada...does anyone live there, or is it just tundra?
Guest BifEverchad Posted August 2, 2002 Report Posted August 2, 2002 That's where they put the Indians. I put up a flag and get shit on, what do you expect when you say something like THAT?
Guest Some Guy Posted August 2, 2002 Report Posted August 2, 2002 Is that not where you put the Indians? We put our's on resevations too, I was furthering a point about you not having teh higher moral ground.
Guest Fook_Hing_Ho Posted August 2, 2002 Report Posted August 2, 2002 We don't "put them there". That's where they chose to live, so the government made that area a reservation.
Guest BifEverchad Posted August 2, 2002 Report Posted August 2, 2002 America fucking RULES! *humoring the Yanks*
Guest LexLugerRules Posted August 2, 2002 Report Posted August 2, 2002 BOTH AMERICA AND CANADA SUCKS. Does that settle it?
Guest Some Guy Posted August 2, 2002 Report Posted August 2, 2002 We don't "put them there". That's where they chose to live, so the government made that area a reservation. Oh really? There were no Indians in Toronto, Montreal, etc.. before white people settled in Canada? I suppose those who were there just decided to up and move to coldest place in the fucking country, right?
Guest CanadianChick Posted August 2, 2002 Report Posted August 2, 2002 I would just like to point out to some guy that Native reservations aren't only in the coldest places in Canada. There are reservations in B.C, too.
