Guest VillanoVII Posted August 2, 2002 Report Posted August 2, 2002 Everytime I try to start up IE I get the error report thing and it shuts down. I've tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it, but this version came as part of XP and whenever I try to update it says there's a newer version already installed and so it stops updating. oh and here's a stupid question........can you upgrade the processor on your computer? I have Intell Celeron and I want a Pentium 4. Do you have to get a whole new motherboard?
Guest razazteca Posted August 3, 2002 Report Posted August 3, 2002 yes you can upgrade the processor, new motherboard is needed and some new memory also.
Guest MrRant Posted August 3, 2002 Report Posted August 3, 2002 yes you can upgrade the processor, new motherboard is needed and some new memory also. Not anymore... they have new motherboards that don't use RDRAM. I built one for my soon to be in-laws last night.
Guest El Psycho Diablo Posted August 3, 2002 Report Posted August 3, 2002 Last time I checked..Celerons and P4's aren't compatible. Sorry.
Guest MrRant Posted August 3, 2002 Report Posted August 3, 2002 Last time I checked..Celerons and P4's aren't compatible. Sorry. He needs another motherboard no doubt. But he can use probably his old memory is all.
Guest VillanoVII Posted August 3, 2002 Report Posted August 3, 2002 okay......well what do I do about my Internet Explorer problem?
Guest El Psycho Diablo Posted August 3, 2002 Report Posted August 3, 2002 What specific error is it giving you?
Guest VillanoVII Posted August 3, 2002 Report Posted August 3, 2002 I don't know. I have XP so whenever I open IE it asks if I want to send an error report. I don't know how to find out the exact problem. When I send the error report IE shuts down......everytime I open it this happens.....the page never gets to load before it happens
Guest MrRant Posted August 5, 2002 Report Posted August 5, 2002 Do you remember when it started? If so use the WinXP restore feature and restore your system to a date before it started and that should help. There is always reformatting as well.
