WrestleMania Main Event

Yes, and it would suck a lot less.

Man if RVD retired Taker, Jericho took out Flair and Edge retired Hogan, we'd finally have something. Until that happens, look for the over-crowded main event picture to keep the glass ceiling intact. HHH can't do it alone.

I wouldn't call Hogan, Taker, or Flair main event guys right now anyway.

In regards to the UT/RVD thing, wouldn't work quite as well since RVD did in fact actually beat the Taker once. The Brock idea I had works better because RVD has several DQs on Brock but no actual pin.

Rock vs. Brock: The rematch. Probably won't be the title match, but it'll happen.

or HHH vs. someone: Hopefully, HHH is the heel going in and he gets his ass handed to him by, say, Jericho or RVD.

Freeing up the time Hogan,Flair(well, not so much) and Taker use would help those three tremendously. You can't argue that.

I'm a bigger fan of Taker right now than I ever was, but it is time to go. The guy still is over and is busting his ass, but there are guys that need that PPV spot or that big program more than he does. He's done it all. Better to go out when you still had it than to look like shit and have to have your fingers steppeed on to just let the hell go. (Hogan)

It will be Lesnar vs. HHH, but not for the WWE Undisputed Title. HHH will beat Lesnar, and say that he beat the "Next Big Thing".

I'd like to see Sting/Angle if anything, no chance in hell.

The match I want to see at Wrestlemania 19 is Austin vs. Goldberg. Sadly, that won't happen. :(

thus making him the next in a long line of never-has-beens.

let's face it, if brock is champion come wrestlemania, unless he steps up his game in the ring, develops some visible mic skills and personality, and starts illiciting true fan response then i don't possibly see how the fed can even consider having this guy in that spot.

every star that got over in a huge way got over by sheer force of the fans- rocky, austin, foley, goldberg. the fans pushed for these guys and the company was forced to take notice. i still don't understand why the fed hasn't picked up on the rvd chants, or lesnar's goldberg chants. i always thought the idea was to make money, not to cripple yourself and the ability to make profit.

idiots. fucking idiots.

They pushed the wrong guy. Funny, Vince will admit the nWo angle was botched, Even the Invasion angle, the mother of them all was botched, but no Brock Lesnar, just keep on pushing.

I really don't think the WWE pushed the wrong guy in my opinion. Lesnar is the perfect superstar in my opinion to receive a push. He's big, tough, bad, and he's a monster heel. Okay, maybe he isn't exactly perfect, but I'm just glad that the WWE is pushing someone new towards the main event.

there's a difference between new and ready. rvd is new AND ready. benoit is ready but not new. lesnar is new but NOT ready. when the biggest chant you can muster is a guy who hasn't wrestled in 2 years, the fans aren't buying it.

The saddest part is this:

When Brock finally does lose the title...even if he pulls out a great title reign...even if he gets over and holds the belt till Mania...

After it's gone...he'll have to start returning jobs.

I guarantee it.

The dues WILL catch up with him.

And if the title reign doesn't kill him...the dues will.

It's a big assumption that Brock will have the title going into 'Mania. I'm sure they want him to have a long reign, and maybe 'Mania is there plan right now. But if Brock is bombing as Champ they won't keep the title on him for 8 months. If Brock is bombing then I give him until Survivor Series at the longest. There he'll lose it to a transitional champ who will the in turn lose it to the most over heel on the roster at the Royal Rumble.

I wonder, did Yokozuna really return any jobs after he lost to Bret? Not sure but aside from the Taker casket match I don't recall much of anything.

The whole Lesnar push is destined to suck and not because the guy isn't ready. That sort of stuff has never factored into wrestling logic anyway (see Goldberg, he wasn't ready either if you think about it). The Lesnar type push is one of the easiest time honored pushes: a big dude that beats the shit outta everyone. Yet somehow they fucked it up.

Brock goes from fighting the Hardys and Bubba Ray Dudley to then getting a title shot at SS? Does anyone see something wrong with this? He has really done nothing aside from a couple of half assed wins over Booker and RVD to justify a title shot.

actually...

because the WWE is too fucking stupid to take the IC title off of RVD BEFORE the feud...

RVD ended up winning the last 2 of the 3 matches.

And those two wins over Brock were stupid because of them being DQ. They should've gone balls out...one way or another.

Yes, he did. Although I don't ever think Luger actually pinned him. I know Yoko pinned Luger in the tag title match at In Your House 2, but I can't remember any other match. From the time he lost the title until the time he left in late 1996, he jobbed to everybody from Shawn Michaels & Razor Ramon, down to the Headshrinkers & Savio Vega. I'm surprised Sparky Plugg didn't get to beat him too.

Anybody else hoping for Hardcore Holly vs. X-Pac for the WWE Undisputed Championship? X-Pac's a main eventer, you know.

Seriously, unless the bottom completely falls out from RVD between now and January, they're going to have no choice but to put him in there against whoever the champion ends up being. If we're clamoring for it now, and we have been since No Mercy (which ended stupidly, for the record, because they had a goldmine ready with Austin-RVD and let it slip away), how can they justify RVD not being in the main event by that point?

Hell, I'd really like to see a Benoit/RVD/Angle/Brock 4-way like at WM 2000...but that might be a little too clustered.

Would that work?

Well at the rate things are going, why dont they just let Shawn Michaels win his fourth WWE title when he makes his one match only appearance as challenger? He draws 30 in the rumble, and SCM's out a returning Nash to win the title shot, and immediately vacates the title the next night, stating he lost his smile, only to lead to the buildup for the WWE title tournament at the next Pay Per View, after Flair, Hogan, and Undertaker are also retired by losing matches to Crash Holly, a returning "Big Vis" and Rakishi, creating a whole new "New Generation" of WWE superstars, headlined by D'Lo Brown?

It COULD work. Lord knows they're all as over as Brock.

Seriously, We can't tell WHAT the Main Event will be. Nobody in their right mind thought L.T/Bam Bam would main event.

In regards to Yokozuna I didn't mean his post 1995 stuff where he wasn't even meant to be a top guy, I mean like right after WM X. Basically the only guy I remember beating him was UT in the casket match. Hell, after that no one gave a shit about Yoko anyway (not that they did before).

I dunno what they'll do with RVD. But bear in mind this is the WWE we're talking about here. I think they'd rather push Brock and go out of business rather than push RVD and admit another company can create stars.
