Chris Jericho interview

Recommended Posts

Guest mach7

Holy f'n popups!

Chris Jericho: Exactly, Russo tried these things all the time, and Bischoff was guilty of it too. Trying to do things where they threw coffee on Eddie Guerrero on the show, or they came out with the squeegie for Sid, I mean, nobody knows what the hell that means, and nobody cares

You know, I've still never heard the squeegie story. Anyone care to enlighten me??

For example, I worked with John Cena -- SNIP -- For me to lose to him doesn't hurt me at all. For me to beat him, whatever. By losing to him, we're one step closer to making a new star, that's what we have to do. Make some new stars, create some new matches, create some new personalities, and freshen things up. Once we start to do that, and we've started doing that already, then things will turn around again.

Seems to me that a lot of guys in that company (WWE) could take notes from that little snippet right there. *cough*HHH*cough*

He couldnt be more right. It's about time some of the "Locker Room Leaders" took notice.

The "squeegie" incident- One night, Brian Pillman and Sid got into a fight(I forgot the year, probably 92-93ish) in a bar. Pillman beats Sid(I think), Sid goes outside, grabs a squeegie and comes back in to fight Pillman again.

That's pretty much it, but if I've messed up in any way, someone please do correct me.

I notice that usually in vevery interview guys always come off looking like they are really pro everything, and everything is OK, nothing is wrong.

Bullshit. Jericho is pissed about being booked the way he is, austin didn't really think the nWo were worth a shit in the ring although he just said he was frustrated and not knocking those guys at all, and Goldberg knows he's just in wrestling for the money although he says I love the kids and I'm just doing what I do best.

Everyone can bullshit you by sugar coating their interviews to make it sound like we have absolutley no idea whatsoever what is going on. The WWE has problems and people like Jericho get screwed. But you won't hear it from him, No he loves jobbing to Cena when there is no way in hell HHH, Taker or even X-Pac would.

I think the entire interview was basically used by Scherer as a way to make Jericho happy and not get the answers for the questions that most people seem to have. Nearly every Internet reader wants to know what Jericho TRULY felt about having to deal with a dog-shit angle with Stephanie right before WrestleMania. Nearly every Internet reader just wants to have an idea of what Jericho thinks about Triple H. Even if he gives a polite answer about how he respects his work and all, it's better than the question not being asked at all. Then Scherer just could have gone into the ol' "Who do you hang out with backstage ? Who do you specifically like to have matches with ? What's been your favorite match in WWE thus far ? etc."

Instead, we have a whole bunch on Fozzy that I doubt most people cared about and a re-hash of all the stuff Jericho said about the Internet before. Scherer could have done a much better job with the interview and asked some more hard-hitting questions, but he just decided to nod his head and agree with everything Jericho said.

Boy.....I'm glad I didn't have to pay the subscription to 1wrestling Premium to read this interview <_<

Actually, I believe Jericho when he says he likes jobbing to guys like Cena. Some people really love what they do and he seems the type who would take a lot of pride in helping another guy along. I'm sure he realizes not many other main event guys would job to him. Thats why he's doing it. Tryin to give that guy a chance that he may not ever get. Or something noble like that.

No. He has to hate being "buried" and he has to hate HHH. It doesn't matter what he says. Smark marks know the truth!

Jericho's problem is he plays the company man way too much. He probably didn't mind jobbing to Cena, and that's great...someone that cares about the business. But how in hell could he stand HHH, he is yet to go over clean. He's badmouthed Jerico on Off the Record, and Conan O'Brien. If I was getting that treatment from someone I'd hate his guts.

Maybe he doesn't see losing on ppv a couple times as being buried.

Maybe he didn't take the comment about missing something as malicious.

We don't know what they say to each other in private. All we know is what we see on TV and what we read on the net.

And maybe you're not getting the point.

Someone's undermining your work in public and burying you. Put yourself in his shoes. If Jericho bitches he'll probably be jobbing to the Brooklyn Brawler...CLEAN.

No, I get the point. You just no sold my last message.

You take the comment as something negative. Jericho may not. He may agree. He may have talked to HHH about it backstage.

You take his loses or whatever as being buried. He may not care if he wins or loses. He may agree with jobbing at WM or HIAC.

Where in the interview does Jericho dispute his problems with Triple H?

If anything, he confirmed his dislike for Triple H by no-selling one of Scherer's questions. Scherer said it wouldn't have made any sense for him to stay on Smackdown considering the things that Stephanie and Triple H did to him during his reign as undisputed champ. Jericho no-sold the question and talked about missing the chance to work with guys like Edge, Cena and Rey Jr. He chose to ignore both Triple H and Stephanie when answering the questions.

In the past few months alone, there have been reports of Jericho telling other wrestlers that he doesn't care for Triple H and that HHH sabotaged his push, of Jericho and Triple H getting into a screaming match backstage , of Jericho getting blamed because no one gave a crap about the Triple H v. Stephanie storyline, of Jericho getting angry with Triple H sticking his nose in Jericho's storylines, and of Triple H having heat in the locker room for the comments he made about Jericho on Off The Record.

But I guess Triple H's interviews on WWE.com where he talks about how Vince shows him no favoritism and how he's always helping out the younger wrestlers are more reliable.

lol smart marks know the truth... shyeah right

Anyway, Jericho obviously doesn't hate his situation too much right now, because he signed another contract. How many people here predicted that he wouldn't? I can think of at least 5.

The 'reason Jericho dosen't hate his situation right now'..is because he's making a whole load of money compared to where he could anywhere else. It's like comparing working an office job to Mc Donalds. See my point?

Nobody thought he wouldn't resign, because it's a secure job while he gets to perform his music on the side. We might have been afraid he wouldn't.

We don't know what they say to each other in private. All we know is what we see on TV and what we read on the net.

And the point is that Jericho says good things about CENA. He says he's green, but he also says that he was green at one point. He says that Cena is a futre superstsr, HHH, in my recolection has never put someone over like that. I'm not saying that Jericho is lying. I belive he is a team player, a company man, but HHH isn't. ANd Jericho has to be bitter about the fact that he does things for others that HHH doesn't.

He didn't just lose a couple of ppv matches.... HE"S LOST EVERY FRICKIN TIME TO HHH! EVERY FRICKIN TIME! How many times must Jericho job to HHH before you anti conspiracy theorist see that maybe, just maybe HHH plays backstage politics regarding certain stars. Sorry to flame, but it's true. Mick Foley, a LEGEND, jobbed twice to HHH because he saw a future star that needed a rub. HHH sees an up and coming superstar and sees a threat. Jericho sees Cena and he sees what Foley saw in HHH. There ARE different attitudes, there ARE backstage politicians in wrestling just as there are politicians in every field of work. HHH not only doesn't put over Jericho, but on NBC HHH suggests that Jericho is missing something. So not only is HHH gonna beat this guy at the PPV, but this guy doesn't deserve to carry HHH's jockstrap. Again, I'm sorry to flame, but there are certain facts that point to HHH's lousy attitude.

When? I have never heard of this.

This year they've fought 3 times that I can remember. Jericho won once and HHH won the two ppv matches. So yeah, he did lose a couple of ppv matches. At worst he beat Jericho in 3 ppv matches if you count Fully Loaded in 2000.

And what's with this "maybe just maybe" stuff? I haven't said it isn't happening. I say I don't know. That's all I ever say about HHH's evil backstage power, but it's always assumed I must be a HHH mark or an anti conspiracy theorist.

The one time Jericho won, it was reversed. As a result, people don't remember it. And they've fought at least three times on PPV with Jericho losing each time.... cleanly. And the maybe just maybe stuff wasn't so much directed at you. I wasn't just replying to your post. I was replying more in general.

I am pretty sure Jericho beat HHH this year on Smackdown. It was a #1 contenders match or something for the right to face Hogan. The annoucers didn't play up the victory though, of course.

I don't recall that happening but even if it did - it no doubt wasn't a clean victory and HHH probably fought off interference and 2 lionsaults, a breakdown and no sold the liontamer only to succomb to 28 chairshots while the ref was bumped...

then he probably pedigreed jericho who ran crying to the back in order to "keep his heat"

when will the WWE realize that unless a win is clean, it's meaningless.

You're wrong.

April 25th, 2002. The match was for a shot at Undisputed Champion Hulk Hogan the next week.

Jericho reversed the Pedigree two times. On the 3rd try UT came out and distracted HHH letting Jericho roll him up for a clean pinfall victory.

Of course the reply will be that a roll up victory is meaningless and what not.

Actually what made it meaningless was the fact that Michael Cole was screaming in he background "Damn that Undertaker he just cost HHH the match. Damn him." And started saying it every time the match was brought up the next couple weeks. When infact the UT did absolutely nothing that is what made it meaningless.

I wouldn't consider the rollup to be clean, no. It was sold by the writers, bookers then the announcers to be CHEAP...

all the marks I talk to don't see jericho as a threat to beat anyone anymore...isn't that what counts?
