The Used

Another new band that is getting some decent exposure. I was expecting a hardcore cd after hearing the single, but they're actually very diverse and combine many genres of music. A Box Full of Sharp Objects is currenty one of my favorite songs. Try it out if you like bands like Thursday, Finch, and Glassjaw.

"A Box Full Of Sharp Objects" is one BAD ASS song. I definitely need more stuff from them. Any recommendations?

I saw some video by Glassjaw today. Forget the title of the song, but the video ended with some asshole unplugging them as they played in an alley.

I can safely say that Glassjaw is some of the worst noise I've ever heard.

You can't really judge gj by their newer stuff, they got the infamous Ross Robinson treatment that can really damage bands that are just starting to breakout (ATDI anyone?). There's only 4 or 5 great standout songs on the new album, and the rest is just there, with too many effects. Go listen to their debut Everything You Ever Wanted To Know About Silence and then you can judge them. It's a much more consistent album then Worship.

For the Used I'd recommend Maybe Memories, Poetic Tradgedy, and Noise and Kisses, aside from the amazing single.

I've downloaded a couple songs by these fellas (A Box Full of Sharp Objects, Taste of Ink) and I must say I am impressed.
