Guest pearljamfan Posted August 3, 2002 Report Posted August 3, 2002 I was just wondering if anyone likes this Pearl Jam/Soundgarden hybrid of years ago or if anyone has the cd. I personally love the album and love the band. Too bad Soundgarden isnt around anymore. I miss them more then anything
Guest The Man in Blak Posted August 3, 2002 Report Posted August 3, 2002 Temple of the Dog was a pretty good side project for Cornell and Vedder, but I'm didn't really dig that many of their songs outside of "Say Hello To Heaven"...which is strange, since TotD had the things I liked from both PJ (blues-esque leanings) and Soundgarden (nice riffage) in one neat little package.
Guest mesepher Posted August 3, 2002 Report Posted August 3, 2002 it's an awesome record and a great tribute to Andrew Wood. I don't know if that beast toured or not... but seeing Temple of the Dog in concert would be amazing. haven't listened to it in a while, but I'll have to get it out for tomorrow's drive.
Guest pearljamfan Posted August 3, 2002 Report Posted August 3, 2002 Actually they played a few show years ago. I have found some mp3s for it, they are out there if you dig enough. The mp3s I had were from the only show Eddie played at aswell. Ive got them doing Hungerstrike, dammit I love that tune
Guest Gamengiri2002 Posted August 3, 2002 Report Posted August 3, 2002 Actually, Eddie Vedder factored in very little in TotD. I would say it was more of a side project between Jeff Ament, Stone Gossard, and Chris Cornell, all of them who knew Wood quite well. As for the album, it rocks all sorts of everything. "Say Hello 2 Heaven" "Hunger Strike" "Call me a Dog" "Times of Trouble"-->Complete with the guitar riff from "Footsteps" and "Wooden Jesus" are all very listenable on a repeated basis. Actually, the album serves as a good predecessor to Cornell's solo album "Euphoria Morning" showing a lot of the same bluesy-feel that Euphoria would retread.
