With 13 mins to go. So basiclly everything after that second bump kills the match. They should of have Taker pin him and it would rule. Just a brutal match. But NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, they go and kill it by still "brawling" with a cripple and a person knocked fucking stupid. Foley needed to watch the match SEVEN TIMES to just remember what the fuck happenend. It was a botched spot to boot. Its like the Ganso bomb. It does look cool but wasn't meant to happen. So how can a match be good with a MAJOR botch spot like that? TLC 1 is the climax of the whole E/C, Hardyz, Dudleyz fued. Everything was downhill from there. TLC 2 was great. But TLC 1 was many times better. Since spots were new. And not the normal reharshed bullshit.

So how can a match be good with a MAJOR botch spot like that? Gotta agree right there. After the two big spots, they should have ended the match, PERIOD. The 13 minutes afterwards was so boring with Taker trying to help Foley get his shit together that I pretty much fell alseep from the boredom. Unrelated note: ME83'S username reminds me that I forgot to throw in some Midnight Express matches... DAMMIT!
Guest goodhelmet Report post Posted August 7, 2002 Alright, this isn't in any particular order. It also combines matches I've seen from Japan as well as ones from the states... 1. Shinjiro Ohtani vs. Ultimo Dragon (J-Crown Tourney '96) 2. Misawa/Kobashi vs. Kawada/Taues 6/9/95 3. Owen-Bret (WM X) 4. Flair-Steamboat (2/3 Falls) 5. Flair Steamboat (Chi Town Rumble) 6. Misawa vs. Kobashi (1/97) 7. Jushin Lyger vs. Great Sasuke (J-Cup '94) 8. Owen vs. HBK (In YOur House 6) 9. Benoit vs. Austin (Smackdown) 10. Foley vs. HBK (Mind Games) This list changes all the time so I know I'm forgetting some great matches.
Guest godthedog Report post Posted August 7, 2002 4. Flair-Steamboat (2/3 Falls) 5. Flair Steamboat (Chi Town Rumble) haven't seen the wrestlewar match yet, i take it?
Guest goodhelmet Report post Posted August 7, 2002 i have seen the wrestlewar match and i enjoy the hell out of it BUT i love ricky steamboat more than any other wrestler. i mark for steamboat like no other. with that said, flair winning the title at wrestlewar left me bitter. steamboat winning the title at chi-town made me proud. it's almost the same reason i didn't include misawa-kawada 6/3/94. i feel kawada should have gone over. he didn't. i wasn't happy and it ruins my enjoyment of the match. Good stuff, to be sure, but IMO it was HBK's 6th best match that year, after: 1.) Mind Games vs. Foley 2.) WrestleMania vs. Bret 3.) Summerslam vs. Vader 4.) KotR vs. Bulldog 5.) GF:BE vs. Diesel What about the Owen match made it so high? Just curious.
Guest goodhelmet Report post Posted August 9, 2002 once again, these matches aren't necessarily indicative of workrate or even 'best ' matches but FAVORITE matches. so why kawada-misaw 6/3/94 may be the best match ever or whatever, it's not one of my favorites. same goes with the wrestlewar steamboat-flair match. owen-hbk is just really cool. it was't that long of a match but the two participants worked their asses off and just played the roles to perfection. plus, i find myself liking owen matches more and more. at the same time, i didn't include owen-bret cage match because i am not a big fan of cage matches. if this was a list of best matches i've ever seen then the list would be pretty different but as it is, it's just my FAVORITE matches. matches that i can watch over and over and over again without getting bored or that still get my heart pumping, or does what is sometimes hard for a smark to do... mark out! all of these matches on my list accomplish this goal including owen-hbk.
