Guest Black Tiger Posted August 3, 2002 Report Posted August 3, 2002 At the Highspots board there is a discussion of NJPW's current state. Chono is the top heel, but gets lots of face pops and due to injuries, his ring work isn't what it used to be. If the following happened would it draw at all. 1. Chono, getting on in age is getting appreciative of all the fans and letting it interfere with his Team 2000 heel work. 2. Tenzan and the rest of Team 2000 beat his ass down and kick him out...turning Chono face 3. Tenzan takes over as Team 2000 leader and Tenzan vs Chono headlines a Dome show, Tenzan scores a fluke win, Chono passing the torch and settles into his role as NJ matchmaker.
Guest BionicRedneck Posted August 3, 2002 Report Posted August 3, 2002 I suppose, but how would Tenzan getting a "Fluke" win pass the torch? wouldn't it be better if Tenzan won convincingly? That way it would seem like he could beat Chono, rather than him getting lucky. I dunno, i like the idea, but then i still enjoy Chono in the ring, so i dont think he should leave just yet.
Guest RickyChosyu Posted August 3, 2002 Report Posted August 3, 2002 Tenzan needs someone to put him over to become a substantial draw, and Chono would be the perfect guy for that, I think. From there, Tenzan can become top heel and hopefully draw some big gates.
Guest PlatypusFool Posted August 3, 2002 Report Posted August 3, 2002 Yeah... ... Shame Chono is just so damn cool though, I want him to be around for as long as possible because of that, although what is being mentioned in this topic is very sensible.
