Guest DrTom Report post Posted August 3, 2002 I'm just wondering why no one uses the "Site Feedback" folder to give feedback on the TSM website? I don't recall every seeing comments (good or bad) about the articles that were written. We've been putting up a lot of good content recently, but the most popular thing to use this folder for is to request a posting title. For the regular posters of this forum (not just in this folder): do you read the TSM website at all? Which articles/recaps do you read, and which do you avoid? I'm just curious, because the lack of actual site feedback here has made me wonder.
Guest bob_barron Report post Posted August 3, 2002 Well Dr. Tom...you suck!!!! (j/k) I read Retro Rob's stuff, and all the tv recaps excpet for NWATNA. (Sorry Dames)

Guest bob_barron Report post Posted August 3, 2002 Cause Widro at 411 covers it pretty in-depth and I don't get NWATNA anyway so I'm not in a rush to read all the recaps. Don't take it personally
Guest TheDames7 Report post Posted August 3, 2002 None taken. Have you ever read it at all??? Dames
Guest bob_barron Report post Posted August 3, 2002 No I havent- but I will this week.
Guest Retro Rob Report post Posted August 3, 2002 You know what pisses me off the most? The people who have been bitching over the past few weeks about this folder being wasted with "Is XXX banned???" threads, yet these people don't actually put this folder to good use either. Message board hypocrites I guess.
Guest MrRant Report post Posted August 3, 2002 Yeah... I'm not sure how many people read the site. All my feedback has came from the UK so go figure.
Guest Retro Rob Report post Posted August 3, 2002 Judging by the stats page, which seems to have stopped working over the last week, the columns were doing pretty well in terms of readership.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted August 3, 2002 I read the site. It never occured to me to post feedback in here for it... I think it's because this folder has always been used for messageboard feedback before there was a site.
Guest Retro Rob Report post Posted August 4, 2002 Why not have two seperate folders, one for Forum Feedback and the other for TSM Feedback? That may help generate some input.
Guest goodhelmet Report post Posted August 4, 2002 Why not have two seperate folders, one for Forum Feedback and the other for TSM Feedback? That may help generate some input. it might or it might just create a ghost town of a folder also. anyway, even when sk and his bunch were running things, the only real feedback for the site were people asking sk questions similar to his mailbag now. i think if the site just maintains its present course and offers great reviews and content you don't see everywhere else (the shoot reviews, the crossface, the rare tapes, the week in history, the kickass pop culture reviews) then people will start responding more. also, writers pimp the hell out of your articles. if you are proud of a piece, do not be afraid to show it because i still maintain that the writing on our site is on par (if not surpassing) any other site in terms of quality! Guest Some Guy Report post Posted August 4, 2002 I have only read the site a few times. Dr. Tom's articles were pretty good though, but I can find out what he has to say in Current Events.
Guest DrTom Report post Posted August 5, 2002 "Dr. Tom's articles were pretty good though, but I can find out what he has to say in Current Events. SG, do you think the writers for the site should maintain a lower profile in the forums, then? Would that make their words seem "newer?"
Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Report post Posted August 5, 2002 I check out the site once in a while, but not that often. I read the RAW recaps and the Smackdown recaps. I just checked out the Confidential recap because I missed the show even though I wanted to see it and it was pretty good. I think the site would probably be better if there were more frequent updates on the site. Wrestling news is something that is hard to get and you guys put up the news maybe twice a week. By the time you put it up, everyone already knows about it and has dissected it quite a few times. Maybe you should have people put up reviews of older PPVs and archive them. I don't really look at the DVD stuff, because I don't really pay attention to that kind of stuff. I think you guys should put up some video game reviews in there, and put Comic Book Reviews in there. I guess in general, I would recommend more content on the site.
Guest Retro Rob Report post Posted August 5, 2002 If you want old PPV reviews there are a bunch in the tape reviews section: Here The archive system isn't great, but it works for now.
Guest Incandenza Report post Posted August 5, 2002 This site needs time to build, is all. It's unfair to expect everything to be going like gangbusters right out the gates.

By the time you put it up, everyone already knows about it and has dissected it quite a few times. Well, we do the news 3 times a week, and while it's not an excuse, life is a fickle bitch which is why me and Dames both missed our scheduled days for the news. Also, 9 times out of 10, people on the forums have already gotten the stuff we post in the news and put it on the forum, which kinda takes away from the site right out of the gate. I had been wondering if we should say something about that, but then I thought it'd be incredibly wrong for us to just flat out order people on the board to not post stuff like the Ross Report before we get to it. In short, it's very much a lose/lose situation no matter HOW we try to distinguish ourselves and get the site known, but fuck it, I enjoy writing for the site and working with everyone else who does because they are busting their asses to put out good content and I wouldn't trade this experience for anything else. I think you guys should put up some video game reviews in there, and put Comic Book Reviews in there. I guess in general, I would recommend more content on the site. We're working on a few new things, so I guess all I can really say here is echo Incandenza's post and ask that you just be patient. Now, if I may rip off Dames... - Byron .... Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Report post Posted August 5, 2002 I'm not saying that I have lofty expectations for the site or anything, I'm just bringing up some things that I think will help the site, whether they can be done immediately or over a period of time. Guest goodhelmet Report post Posted August 7, 2002 i think i figured it out. they put this folder as the very last folder. an admin needs to put this folder a little higher on the pecking order. when it's the last folder, i feel like i'm visiting a dirty place. put it back where it originally belongs!!!!!
Guest Retro Rob Report post Posted August 7, 2002 That would probably help. The NHB folder used to be second from the top and it had a ton of content. Then it was moved down to the bottom of the wrestling section and not as many people posted there.
