Guest MrRant Report post Posted August 5, 2002 Yes.. the part with the scoreboard in the north end is going to be called the Hawk's Nest. It also have luxury suites RIGHT on the field.

Guest Kingpk Report post Posted August 5, 2002 I wish the Pats would just release some aerial photos of CMGi already, all I can find are the original 3D mock-ups. I drove by it the day before the draft though, about 1,000,000x better than Foxboro.
Guest MrRant Report post Posted August 5, 2002 If only the team were any good... Bastard. They should be at least a wildcard team. The stadium already has over 50,000 season tix sold so the crowd will help a lot.
Guest Smues Report post Posted August 5, 2002 I predicted doom for that stadium a long time ago. It just seems to me like one of those stadiums where everthing that can go wrong will. I won't be surprised if in 5 years they find some major problem in it. And as if to validate my predictions already there was the dude who jumped to his death on the open house (boy was that creepy being in a stadium mere hours after some dude killed himself). And there's the fact that no one will buy naming rights (sure I prefer Seahawk stadium to Minute maid field or some shit like that, but if no one will pay for naming rights you've got problems)
Guest phoenixrising Report post Posted August 5, 2002 My parents were just up in Washington and they visited Safeco to get me a Mariners hat. They took a picture next to the stadium entrance. Damn that must be a nice area...last time I was up there I went to the Kingdome for a game. Now they have Safeco and Seahawks Stadium...two nice places to go watch sports. Guest redbaron51 Report post Posted August 5, 2002 that is a nice place to be at. is the roof rectractable?
Guest MrRant Report post Posted August 5, 2002 No... the roof covers the majority of the seats though.

Guest Kingpk Report post Posted August 5, 2002 This is the best one I could find of CMGi (soon to be renamed "Gillette Stadium, it seems)
Guest cartman Report post Posted August 5, 2002 I tell ya driving by CMGI is just awe inspiring. This thing is like lightyears better than the cement bowl we had before...someday in the year 2020 I might get tickets too!
Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Report post Posted August 5, 2002 All I have here is PSINet Stadium and Camden Yards.
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Report post Posted August 5, 2002 Camden yards is probably the best new sports stadium (term used loosely since its like 10 years old now) in all of sports. I like Ravens Stadium too, but it just seems like a football stadium, nothing special about it (other than the purple seats) What were the Seahawks thinking anyway? Doesn't it rain like 270+ days a year in Seattle? Even if the stands are 60% covered (god forbid a fan who pays 100 bucks a ticket get wet), the field is still gonna get wet and muddy. Gillette Field (or whatever) looks more like a baseball stadium from that angle in the picture for some reason.
Guest kkktookmybabyaway Report post Posted August 5, 2002 "Doesn't it rain like 270+ days a year in Seattle?" Funny, I was thinking about that as well. Muddy games rock.
Guest Some Guy Report post Posted August 5, 2002 I wish the Pats would just release some aerial photos of CMGi already, all I can find are the original 3D mock-ups. I drove by it the day before the draft though, about 1,000,000x better than Foxboro. My backyard is better than Foxboro. That place was a piece of shit! I've only been there twice and if it weren't for getting free tickets to the "Snowbowl" playoff game against Oakland I wouldn't have gone a second time. They had aluminum bech seating so all teh fat assed Football fans would take up way more than their seat pushing everyone of teh end of teh bench or just crushing them. BTW my best friend's father got a luxory box for Gillette Stadium (the name was annouced today) so bow down before me as i go to at least 8 Pats games this year for free! Guest cartman Report post Posted August 5, 2002 <bows to Some Guy in hopes of being able to tag along someday to at least ONE game...>
Guest Some Guy Report post Posted August 5, 2002 We'll see. I doubt I'll gp to all of the games, I'm not really that big of a Football fan, but having a bar right in the box might get me to all of them. I got free tickets from teh same friend's Uncle to go to the Chargers game and the playoff game and those we're the first two non-BC Football games I've been to (My Mother's boyfriend has season tickets to BC Football and Basketball). My same friend's otehr Uncle gave us $60 tickets to a Sox/Rockies game as well. Wow, I kick ass! I almost never pay to go to games!
Guest MrRant Report post Posted August 5, 2002 Umm... the reason it is open is so that weather can be involved. That is what football is. You play if its raining, snowing, or if the sun is out.
Guest Kingpk Report post Posted August 5, 2002 Wow, I kick ass! I almost never pay to go to games! I've gone to a couple of Sox games courtesy of my mother working for a law firm in RI and having a rabid Sox fan as a boss. You won't be going to all the games? Send the tix my way, bruddah! Guest cartman Report post Posted August 5, 2002 Hey I asked first!!!!!! I have never been to a Pats game yet either....Please?!
Guest Some Guy Report post Posted August 6, 2002 Hmmm....... Now I have quite a problem. I could go to all 8 games (provided his father lets me, which he probably will unless he has business partners to take) get drunk and skip work or I could give the tickets to one of two people whom I've never met. I think I'll just go and tell you guys all about the wonder of a luxory box at Gillette Stadium.
Guest converge241 Report post Posted August 7, 2002 wow a killer stadium and great new uniforms.. could be turning for the seahawks...too bad they couldnt stay in the weaker afc west. they should have WMX9 there instead of safeco
Guest converge241 Report post Posted August 7, 2002 some guy, did you go to the superbowl season draft party? they gave an amazing tour of the stadium while it was being built. Quite an experience. I used to go to games all the time when i was young (my aunt was head cheerleader) but have never been to a home game yet (only away). Im shelling out big $$$ for the season opener because my two favorites are clashing its either that or drive to pitt- indy on MNF in october
Guest nl5xsk1 Report post Posted August 7, 2002 I think it's funny that this thread was started for us to drool over the new stadium in Washington, but all of us New Englanders take it over and talk about Gillette Stadium (which is already being spoken about as the football stadium that all future football stadiums are modeled after) ... I go to 2-4 Pats games a year, but I think it'll be a little harder to get the free tix this year with a new stadium and THE DEFENDING SUPER BOWL CHAMPIONS playing there. Guest converge241 Report post Posted August 7, 2002 while we are speaking of Gillete Stadium (lol).. the architecs said it can be easily adjusted for a certain baseball team in the area
Guest CanadianChris Report post Posted August 7, 2002 Damn. That makes SkyDome look like a big ol' concrete cave. Oh, wait...
