Guest dr deaf Report post Posted February 22, 2002 I'm sorry, but I was impressed with Taijiri first came to the WWF. Here was a little guy playing with the big boys. I remember they even gave him a win over Albert and what not. Just a mean lean kicking machine. Now they've saddled him with blonde bimbo #236871 and he's just tanked. Taking a downhill slide on a greased poop shoot is about the equivilant of where his career is going in the WWF. Why though? He was very over with the fans and brought it a little freshness by being quick and accurate with his feet. Even if he couldn't speak english well, he made contact with the fan base by cheesey actions and stong in ring moves.
Guest Tazzmission25 Report post Posted February 22, 2002 A few weeks ago he went to Japan to promote some wrestling show. He came back on Heat 2 weeks ago and retained the cruiserweight title. But where he has been since, I do not know.
Guest HybridNetwork Report post Posted February 22, 2002 I think Vince finally realized how short Tajiri actually was and instructed the push and tv time to hault.
Guest Tony149 Report post Posted February 22, 2002 Tajiri, for the most part, wrestles on Jakked/Metal & Heat. He appears once and a while on Raw & Smackdown.
Guest saturnmark4life Report post Posted February 23, 2002 Tajiri probably tanked due to the corwded roster like everyone else. He's still over, but it's hard to get anywhere when you only get 2 minutes a match.
Guest Army Eye Report post Posted February 23, 2002 The split will help matters. But it's still a crime that Godfather wrestlers on Raw and Smackdown every week when Tajiri is lucky to be on these shows once a month
Guest Some Guy Report post Posted February 23, 2002 Regal and Tajiry together were very funny. When Tajiry went full fledged face, got Torrie, and stopped winning matches his heat tanked. All they have to do is give the guy some time in the ring after the split and he'll draw for them.
Guest dr deaf Report post Posted February 23, 2002 That's what I mean. At the time he had excellent crowd reactions. He was wrestling in main events on raw and smackdown and then all of a sudden he goes completely babyface with blonde bimbo and it's all gone. He's no longer interesting and no longer allowed a decent match either cause he's squashed, or else torrie plays damsel in distress and distracts him long enough to lose the match. Why why why... he was one of the last people that actually interested me enough to WANT to watch WWF. Now I'm hoping the roster split will happen and we'll get one night where there's no McMahons. Guest InigoMontoya Report post Posted February 23, 2002 The crowd absolutely loved Tajiri ever after he had his first match. It was an interesting contrast, having him being Regal's little foreign slave outside the ring, looking so innocent and harmless. Then he would get in the ring and had the most brutal style of any WWF guy. The fans would pop for virtually every kick, and they loved the tarantula. He was way more over than some of the guys that are on tele now, but they just won't use him. Glass ceiling maybe? lol.
Guest Downhome Report post Posted February 23, 2002 I still say the WWF should sign Super Crazy and simply let the magic role in a Tajiri/Super Crazy feud! Why wouldn't they do something like this? I mean, I am certain the fans would buy into that program. By the way, Tajiri should drop Torie, she is an anchor holding him down. The majority of the response that Tajiri get's now is simply because she's at ringside, and it isn't helping HIM at all. Hell, if they don't think he can get over because he can't speak perfect English, then sign "The Sinister Minister" to be his vocal box. Yes, I marked for all of this in ECW. :-)
Guest dreamer420 Report post Posted February 23, 2002 Tajiri and Super Crazy were great together in ECW but I would much rather see the team of Mikey and Tajiri return. Too bad Mikey retired. The WWF would never do a Crazy/Tajiri program. First off Super Crazy would have a hard time working WWF matches I think. A lot of his offence included flying into a crowded audience which the WWF just doesn't do.
Guest Army Eye Report post Posted February 23, 2002 The Regal/Tajiri stuff was great. I like how InigoMontoya put it. He would act like such a wuss with Regal and then he'd get in the ring and kick the shit out of people. It sucks that they never got to complete that angle, with Tajiri eventually turning on Regal and them having a feud. But the Invasion came along and that was the end of it.. Guest Xstasy Report post Posted February 23, 2002 Taijiri is one of the few MA/ Wrestlers I respect in the WWF. The guy actually throws decent looking kicks... actually, his kicks are flawless... which is more than I can say for most of the "Martial Arts Masters" in the WWF. I think he deserves alot more than he gets. Here are my thoughts for a revamping- Get rid of the Tarantula and give him a viable submission finisher. Give him more high spot stuff Resell his striking offense as more powerful Give him a HUGE impact finisher Eh, just some brainstorming
