Guest CoreyLazarus416 Posted August 5, 2002 Report Posted August 5, 2002 Now we all know what chick flicks are. But are there any chick flicks that you will actually admit to LIKING? I can. Aside from 80's Molly Ringwald and John Cusack flicks (which I think EVERYBODY likes deep down inside), I like the following "chick flicks": Whatever It Takes 10 Things I Hate About You 100 Girls 8 Days A Week
Guest Lord of The Curry Posted August 5, 2002 Report Posted August 5, 2002 I can 100% attest to being one of those guys who digs 80's Molly Ringwald films. I don't know what classifys a "chick flick", because what you named seem to be more "teen" movies. I enjoyed Ten Things I Hate About You. I cried my ass off at I Am Sam, which a lot of people called a chick flick. I enjoyed Crossroads a lot more then I thought I would. Aside from that, I can't really say much, mainly beacuse "chick flick" is kind of vague. Give me some more options and I might pick more...
Guest chirs3 Posted August 5, 2002 Report Posted August 5, 2002 Does "Serendipity" count as a chick flick? I liked that.
Guest The Electrifyer Posted August 5, 2002 Report Posted August 5, 2002 I guess the movie "Stepmom" with Julia Roberts & Susan Sarandon had me feeling sad.
Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Posted August 5, 2002 Report Posted August 5, 2002 I don't know if this counts, but there was a girl that I always ended up watching Julia Roberts movies with. It wasn't too bad of a deal though because those were on those Blockbuster nights most of the time. I usually don't have to go to chick flicks for some reason. I like going to scary movies with girls more than any other kind of movies.
Guest franchise632 Posted August 5, 2002 Report Posted August 5, 2002 Admits to enjoying, and allegedly sheding a few tears, the movie Bounce with Gweneth Paltrow and Ben Affleck.
Guest Strike Force! Posted August 5, 2002 Report Posted August 5, 2002 Wussies....you never EVER admit liking a chick flick..let alone CRYING at one
Guest Nezbyte Posted August 5, 2002 Report Posted August 5, 2002 100 Girls isnt a chick flick, it's a teen movie. It's an awesome teen movie.
Guest C.H.U.D. Posted August 5, 2002 Report Posted August 5, 2002 I like 10 Things I Hate About You. I even have it on DVD.
Guest imajackoff? Posted August 5, 2002 Report Posted August 5, 2002 Does "When Harry Met Sally" qualify as a chick flick?? I love that film. Got the sucker on dvd. "Thelma and Louise" is also one that I like.
Guest Vyce Posted August 5, 2002 Report Posted August 5, 2002 Sliding Doors. This would probably count as a chick flick. But who cares, it's a really, really good Gwyneth Paltrow movie. I love anything Paltrow.
Guest mesepher Posted August 5, 2002 Report Posted August 5, 2002 I like 10 Things I Hate About You. I even have it on DVD. you also have over 800 other DVDs...
Guest J*ingus Posted August 5, 2002 Report Posted August 5, 2002 My Best Friend's Wedding, definitely. Shakespeare in Love, if it counts.
Guest evenflowDDT Posted August 6, 2002 Report Posted August 6, 2002 Shakespeare in Love was good, but I really liked Where the Heart Is.
Guest GeneMean Posted August 6, 2002 Report Posted August 6, 2002 As Good as it Gets? When Harry Met Sally.
Guest bob_barron Posted August 6, 2002 Report Posted August 6, 2002 Shakespeare in Love had boobs! As Good as it Gets-n-Harry Met Sally kick ass
Guest C.H.U.D. Posted August 6, 2002 Report Posted August 6, 2002 Does Unforgiven count? Hell no, that's a guy movie if I ever saw one.
Guest Flyboy Posted August 6, 2002 Report Posted August 6, 2002 I like 10 Things I Hate About You. So do I... I really enjoyed it.
Guest converge241 Posted August 6, 2002 Report Posted August 6, 2002 steel magnolias bounce (although there is an awful dreadful terrible cliche scene in it) where the heart is
Guest DrTom Posted August 6, 2002 Report Posted August 6, 2002 "Shakespeare In Love" was good. Something I didn't think would be a chick flick, but ended up turning into one, was "Coyote Ugly," but I still liked it.
Guest converge241 Posted August 6, 2002 Report Posted August 6, 2002 I have to add Virgin Suicides not a chick flick per se but its labeled as such blew me away when i first saw it
Guest Ravenbomb Posted August 7, 2002 Report Posted August 7, 2002 The closest thing to a chick flick I like is Chasing Amy, which I don't think is a chick flick
Guest evenflowDDT Posted August 7, 2002 Report Posted August 7, 2002 where the heart is wh00! There is another! Also, Dr.Tom... how could you not like Minority Report but like Coyote Ugly?! I know we're comparing apples and oranges here, but... ummm... how?
Guest J*ingus Posted August 7, 2002 Report Posted August 7, 2002 Some people are just weird. Roger Ebert loved The Phantom Menace but disliked AOTC, so whatever.
Guest evenflowDDT Posted August 7, 2002 Report Posted August 7, 2002 Some people are just weird. Roger Ebert loved The Phantom Menace but disliked AOTC, so whatever. That's true... I shouldn't really talk, because there are lots of "bad movies" I prefer to "good movies". Sorry for going off on you (even if it wasn't very hard) Dr.Tom!
Guest Flyboy Posted August 7, 2002 Report Posted August 7, 2002 I'm guess I'm the only one that couldn't stand Where The Heart Is.
Guest spiny norman Posted August 7, 2002 Report Posted August 7, 2002 Bridget Jones's Diary was great. As was Sliding Doors. Amelie was a nice little film. Is Life Is Beautiful a chick flick? God I cried a lot in that. Uuuum, I think that's it. Oh, Apocalypse Now as well, best chick flick ever!
Guest Smues Posted August 7, 2002 Report Posted August 7, 2002 I hate Freddie but I thought She's all that was good. 10 things I hate about you I didn't see the whole thing so i can't make an honest statement if i like it or not, but I did love the marching band scene. A walk to Remember was a great film. And Kate & Leopold was one of the coolest movies I've ever seen.
