Guest jm29195 Report post Posted August 5, 2002 Does anyone else think that he's gonna bust out the shooting star press to win the title at Summerslam??
Guest Brian Report post Posted August 5, 2002 He'd better bust out something soon tojustify him working fifteen plus minute matches where he's supposed to dominate the action. Or, he could just eat a bunch of cruiserweights and steal parts of their movesets.
Guest NoCalMike Report post Posted August 5, 2002 Maybe a disc in his shoulder or neck will bust out. Seriously though, After Summerslam will be dark days ahead until someone gets the title off of Brock.
Guest jm29195 Report post Posted August 5, 2002 I don't understand why he's being pushed to the moon, supposedly has the talent.. (amateur background, those reports from ovw etc) and recieves a title shot and yet isn't allowed to show what he can do? Why is this?
Guest saturnmark4life Report post Posted August 5, 2002 he's gonna bust it out, miss it. If he's got any chance of getting over, it lies therein.
Guest Brian Report post Posted August 5, 2002 Because amateur wrestling is no an accepted part of the WWE style, and besides very few wrestlers can actually build from the technical, mat-style to an actual match. Maybe only Benoit, Regal, Guerrero, Mysterio; and quite possibly Angle and Chavo on the fringe. And Malenko if he's considered active. It's not easy.

I don't understand why he's being pushed to the moon, supposedly has the talent.. (amateur background, those reports from ovw etc) and recieves a title shot and yet isn't allowed to show what he can do? Why is this? That's the WWE style, my friend. Essentially, every wrestler is shoehorned into a basic match plan, which only the really unique guys, like most cruisers or RVD(even though I despise him), can really distinguish themselves. Guest Brian Report post Posted August 5, 2002 Guerrero and Benoit distinguish themselves enough while meshing with the style. Regal tries, but he's not much of a conformist.
Guest jm29195 Report post Posted August 5, 2002 But surely if they were just allowed to do their own thing, as long as it wasn't drastically different, then they could add diversity to the product- thus making it more interesting and making more money for all concerned as well as keeping the fans happy? Guest Brian Report post Posted August 5, 2002 Adding diversity in the product would definately be a plus. Tjhat's what the WWE should have done in the first place. Rather than try to push new ventures, they should have been testing different forums of wrestling. Look at WrestleMania X-7, where they should have come out going about six different directions from. They could have gone with the mat work of Angle/Benoit and actually pushed that (but consequently Angle wasn't really ready). Or they could have taken the hype from the TLC and used that to start pushing a cruiserweight division based on mat and highspots. They could have taken the HHH/Undertaker match and started pushing a sensible hardcore division where the Puerto Rican style of brawling was the goal and weapons make sense, come into play when they're there, mixed with stiffness. They could have started moving the main events more into Rock/Austin territory where brawling, rather than filler becomes an extent of the hatred in the feud and there's a more old-school feel to the matches with psychology, which is actually something that picked up for a few months, peaked at SummerSlam, and died soon afterward. They could have done alot of different things at that point and by offering a variety they would have pleased a lot of different fans. They chosse not to. It makes no sense at all. Guest Brian Report post Posted August 5, 2002 Oh jeez... I just read the smackdown spoilers, and Brock had to redo his promo because he screwed up. Another reason he's off RAW.

Guest Incandenza Report post Posted August 5, 2002 We should start a pool. How many minutes into his Summerslam match will Brock get blown up?
Guest Just call me Dan Report post Posted August 5, 2002 I think Brock is going to hit the F 5 on The Rock only to have Rocky kick out. Brock will be scared shitless and Rock will catch his second wind. Rock dominates, but before he can finsh it off, Brock catches him by surprise in a big move and ascends to the top and delivers a SSP to win. Rock gets up in amazement and leaves the company to "rethink strategy" or to "train for a rematch"
