Guest converge241 Posted August 5, 2002 Report Posted August 5, 2002 Id like to build up mass, but my metabolism is still in overdrive. id like some muscle mass but wouldnt mind some fat? any thoughts?
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Posted August 5, 2002 Report Posted August 5, 2002 Posting here several hours a day helps..
Guest Sandman9000 Posted August 5, 2002 Report Posted August 5, 2002 First, avoid activity at all costs. You like to go outside and shoot hoops or whatever? Not if you want fat. Second, sleep late. I mean noon or 1 p.m. late, not 9 a.m. late. Third, eat heavily at all times. Heavy lunch, heavy dinner, snack constantly inbetween. Fourth, snack before bedtime. That can really do it for you. Pound down the ice cream or chips while watching the 1 a.m. Sportscenter. I do all those things, even though I should be trying to lose weight....

I can heartily endorse all four of those methods as sure-fire ways to stay chunky, from long and proven experience, especially #2. Also, as long as you don't do cardio, weightlifting (high weight, low reps) might help you bulk up a little.
Guest Shaved Bear Posted August 5, 2002 Report Posted August 5, 2002 bulking up is a definite way, youll look better and weigh more
Guest converge241 Posted August 6, 2002 Report Posted August 6, 2002 "Posting here several hours a day helps.. " unfortunately im @ work all day while i post here talking to doctors and office managers etc. i already try to be as slovenly as possible.. time to break out the weight gainers i guess. im definetly down w/the junk during a late sportscenter jingus "Second, sleep late. I mean noon or 1 p.m. late, not 9 a.m. late. " another great idea i wake up @ 5:10 daily. i long for the days of sleeping late
Guest Angle-plex Posted August 6, 2002 Report Posted August 6, 2002 Eact a lot of chicken breast and steak.
Guest Retro Rob Posted August 6, 2002 Report Posted August 6, 2002 I also have a fast metabolism, but I was able to put on 30+ POUNDS this year, mostly in muscle and I don't do shit. Here is my little method... Eat a lot. Try to stay away from junk food, but you don't have to eat healthy crap either. I pretty much live on pretzels, Hot Pockets and Chex Mix along with cookies at night. As far as physical activity goes, I don't do much of anything. Once in a while I play sports with my friends, but beisdes that I sleep late, stay up late and sit on my ass all day. That's pretty much all that comes to mind right now.
Guest CanadianChick Posted August 6, 2002 Report Posted August 6, 2002 I suggest doing moderate activity only, not a lot of activity. Eat whatever, becasue you need a little fat to gain muscle. I had the same problem as you and with doing what I said above, I managed to gain 25 pounds in 5 monthes, which is something that I needed.
Guest DJ Jeff Posted August 6, 2002 Report Posted August 6, 2002 1. Sit on your ass all day. 2. Eat lots. 3. Sit on your ass all day. 4. Eat lots. 5. Sit on your ass all day. 6. Eat lots. Yep, that's all I can think of. B)
Guest Just call me Dan Posted August 6, 2002 Report Posted August 6, 2002 I'm dead serious when I say that eating two peanut butter sandwiches and a big glass of milk very night before you go to bed for a couple of months will get you a good 10 pounds.
Guest mesepher Posted August 6, 2002 Report Posted August 6, 2002 eat some Crisco and wash it down with a nice glass of oil
Guest converge241 Posted August 7, 2002 Report Posted August 7, 2002 ok i write extra weight and you read heart attack although i do love gristle when cooked on the grill ..yum
Guest C-Bacon Posted August 9, 2002 Report Posted August 9, 2002 i gained 8 lbs in the last month or so. im 5'10 and only 138 now. i've been taking transform supplement drinks and working out 3-4 times a week
Guest Shaved Bear Posted August 9, 2002 Report Posted August 9, 2002 i switched my body fat from 21%-15% in the last year and gained 15 lbs
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted August 10, 2002 Report Posted August 10, 2002 Man, I wish I had that problem, I was a blimp in high school, dropped 30 f'n pounds the summer afterwards through working. I was just plain lazy in HS, no excuse for it really. I'm down to about 225 (I'm also 6'3", so it's not grotesque) Just got to get buff. I don't really have a problem losing or gaining weight at all, I've just got to pay attention to what I eat and take time to lift. or else I'll get huge.
Guest Sebastian_the_Bastard Posted August 11, 2002 Report Posted August 11, 2002 Don't listen to the people saying "stay away from physical activity"... because you still want to enjoy the stuff you do, right? Just eat more and heavier. Work out too, that'll help the fat and muscle balance each other out. And eat right before going to bed, that helps you gain weight. I love naked women!, Sebastian the Bastard
Guest HHH's 'Roid Needle Posted August 11, 2002 Report Posted August 11, 2002 Seriously dude, the best way to gain weight is to make sure you're eating A LOT of protein, and just lift weights. Make sure to only do the workout thing about 4 times per week, because you've gots to let your muscles regenerate, meaning grow. Do a search on the net and you'll find all types of good advice.
Guest What? Posted August 11, 2002 Report Posted August 11, 2002 This is how I gained weight 1. Fall while skateboarding 2. Fuck up your back to the point that you need surgery on it 3. Have your kitchen be remodled, thus making cooking nearly impossible, so McDonald's and Chinese Deli are your dinners for the next six weeks. 4. Sit on your ass and eat shit Worked for me. Thankfully, I have skateboarding and running to help BURN my fat away, but still...

This was the best advise for you. Eat alot of Banana's and also Pasta with out the heavy thick sause. Drinking Milk Shakes really help alot. A few beers at night before you go to bed wouldn't hurt either. All though, if you're trying to gain weight the heathly way, drinking isn't the way to go.
Guest converge241 Posted August 12, 2002 Report Posted August 12, 2002 oh yeah btw im 6'1 155 lbs yeah im going to start working out, my knee-jerk reaction to that was.."wait a minute, doesnt that lose weight", but i did some research and it makes sense.
