Guest bob_barron Report post Posted August 6, 2002 28 sounds like a one match show. 19 sounds awesome. 20 sounds pretty good 22 sounds awesome
Guest Drury37 Report post Posted August 6, 2002 It was XVIII(18)and it was more than just a one match show.It has the two Dangerous Alliance matches and a couple of other matches that are good.Except the fact that they have this whole thing with the Fabulous Freebirds that is kind long and somewhat boring. Thanks.
Guest bob_barron Report post Posted August 6, 2002 Sorry- cant read. Anything DA related sounds good
Guest Drury37 Report post Posted August 6, 2002 Haha, that's ok.Yes anything related to the Dangerous Alliance is usually pretty good.If anyone has seen WCW Clash of the Champions XIX with the NWA Tag Team Title Tournament didn't the tag team the Head Hunters look like they were wearing their underpants outside their wrestling attire. Thanks.
Guest Tony149 Report post Posted August 6, 2002 COTC 18 - Ok show. Pillman started acting heelish in the segment with Badd. The D.A. stuff is good too. Cactus/Van Hammer in the match that went in the barn. Then Abullah The Butcher (Sp?) attacking Cactus dressed as a cowboy. LOL. The Steiners/Vader & Hughes is ok. The Steiners (When they were still good) hit some pretty cool power moves on Vader. Later on, the Steiners cut a funny promo. Funny because they looked nervous as hell cutting the promo. They tripped over the words a lot during the promo. Plus, Jesse "The Body" Ventura's WCW debut. The rant he goes on when Sting & Steamboat both pin Austin (I belive) is great. COTC 19 - Good show. The Liger/Pillman vs. Benoit/Beef match is awesome. Williams & Gordy cut a funny promo when it's announced one of the teams was jumped backstage, IMO. The Father/Son team appeared to have pulled double duty as their figure looked a lot like the Head Hunters. Sting looks cool in a tux. The Ron Simmons/Harley Race/Super InVader stuff got a little wild for its time. I belive TBS censored the word "Boy" when Race said it. COTC XX - Not a great show, but lots of old clips as WCW/TBS celebrates 20 years of wrestling on the Superstation. WCW Saturday Night's set was used (because the show was held at Center Stage). I know you like that set, Drury. There would of been a great visual if Rick Steiner was able to pick up Vader for the double team DDT during the main event. Pillman turns heel during Brad Armstrong's promo. The entire "Spin the Wheel, Make the Deal" mini-movie featuring the evil midget is shown. Plus, the last appearance of Andre The Giant before his death on a North American wrestling show. COTC XXII - Haven't seen the show, but it sounds good. If this is the one with the Thunderdome cage match as the main event...then this was JR's last major WCW show he called. Ross was gone after Superbrawl III. His last WCW show was WCW Saturday Night the day before Superbrawl.
Guest Mattdotcom Report post Posted August 6, 2002 I've always wondered, what did Andre do at that Clash?
Guest MillenniumMan831 Report post Posted August 6, 2002 I believe he and Gordon Solie were interviewed by Missy Hyatt/Tony Schiavone and Andre said something like, "It's great to be on TBS to see all my favorite wrestling stars." He seemed happier to be hanging out with Gordon than being at the show.

Guest Drury37 Report post Posted August 7, 2002 Bruno Sammartino did like a shoot on the WWF during WCW Clash of the Champions XX,he said something like it's good to be with an originazation who runs it's business the way you are suppose instead of those other clowns(or something like that)who I have had to deal with for 10 years. Thanks.
Guest JHawk Report post Posted August 7, 2002 Clash XVIII: Very good show, and I'm still amazed when people ask for just the Falls Count Anywhere Match for comp. tapes. The whole card was pretty good, minus the Freebirds' new song and the debt of Vinnie Vegas. Clash XIX: Get this show if you haven't seen it! Pillman and Liger vs Benoit and Beef Wellington! Steamboat and Nikita vs. The Malenko Brothers! Dangerous Alliance goodness! Clash XX: Good for a nostalgia kick, but pointless from a wrestling standpoint after the Steamboat-Austin opener. Clash XXII: This was the Thundercage main event, right? Decent main, really good Steamboat-Douglas vs. Hollywood Blondes match, and a good little Benoit-Brad Armstrong match. Worth a look. Guest Drury37 Report post Posted August 7, 2002 WCW Saturday Night's set was used (because the show was held at Center Stage). I know you like that set, Drury. Yep,I knew they had the event at the Center Stage Theatre in Atlanta Georgia and I knew that they were using the WCW Saturday Night set that was used from about August 1992 to late 1993/early 1994 but when the event started and they showed the entrance set I still marked out. Now that I know that you have seen WCW Clash of the Champions XIX didn't the Head Hunters ring attire make them look like they were wearing their underwear over their ring attire.I liked how on WCW Clash of the Champions they showed that video with 2 Cold Scorpio dancing with those kids as they went to school,I liked when he said we're going to hop!!!By the way WCW Clash of the Champions had awesome theme music!!! Guest Tony149 Report post Posted August 7, 2002 The Head Hunters were wearing their black underwear over their tights. Some guy's who wear long tights do that. I agree on the Clash music. Every time I put a Clash (I belive they first used it on Clash 16 or 17) into the VCR and I hear the music, that pumps me up. It sounds so cool.
Guest Drury37 Report post Posted August 7, 2002 They had on all black ring attires and it looked like they had on white underpants over there ring attire.Yeah,I get really pumped listening to the WCW Clash of the Champions theme music!!! Thanks.
Guest The Czech Republic Report post Posted August 8, 2002 I remember the last WCWSN set was the green glass block one, and before that was the big wall with the sliding doors, what was the Center Stage one?
Guest Drury37 Report post Posted August 8, 2002 This was it and the one before it was this There you have it. Thanks.
Guest The Czech Republic Report post Posted August 11, 2002 Whoa, those are weird. The top one just looks cheap, and the other one looks like backstage where wrestlers would be WALKING! on Raw. How long were they using that set before the sliding doors came in? The sliding door one ruled.
Guest Black Tiger Report post Posted August 12, 2002 In Clash 19, when Williams gives a prematch promo he says something like "When I think about someone from Michigan playing a sport, all I think about are (bleep), well I can't say that on TV" What did he say? Guest Drury37 Report post Posted August 12, 2002 I'm not sure, but how can some rip the old WCW Saturday Night entrance sets, the person who did that can I(just out of curiosity)ask you how long you have been a wrestling fan. Thanks.
Guest The Czech Republic Report post Posted August 15, 2002 I've been a wrestling fan since the end of 1995. You're welcome.
Guest Drury37 Report post Posted August 15, 2002 Oh alright, well then I won't hold your thoughts of the two WCW Saturday Night Entrance Sets against you because at the time entrance sets had always just been certain with the federation's logo above it therefore when WCW Saturday Night had those two entrance sets they were awesome and I still think that they are pretty cool!!! Thanks.
Guest The Czech Republic Report post Posted August 16, 2002 Yeah, I didn't realize WCWSN led the industry in entrance stages. Does anyone else think Paul E. looks like Jon Lovitz in that one pic?
