Nicest wrestler in the business?

Recommended Posts

Guest HartFan86

I've heard that Mick Foley is one of the nicest guys along with Bret Hart. Never met either, though.

Shane Helms and Rico were probably the nicest people I have ever met in the business. Paul Vachon & Rick Fuller are up there as well.

I keep hearing mixed reviews on Mick

I have to go with Mikey Whipwreck, Tommy Dreamer, Nova, Little Guido, Simon Diamond, Dawn Marie, and Steve Corino

I met Hogan years ago, before he left WWE. He was very nice and accomodating, and signed everything I put in front of him.

He's the only wrestler I've met.

I have a little bone to pick with Foley. My college is a member of a program called YAA (Young Authors Association) where authors speak to college students about writing books, how much work goes into it, the lifestyle of an author etc. Foley did a speech in Cortland college (where he went), and was scheduled to come to mine (20 minutes away) the next day but canceled at the last minute.

Ricky Steamboat is generaly considered to be the nicest guy in the business, he never refused to job, always put over younger guys and helped them improve, never pulled power plays in the back. The true professional.

Benoit and Saturn, two awesome guys. They let me go behind the autograph table so I could snap a picture with them. Benoit let me pose with the US title belt, while Saturn playfully wringed my neck.

Mick Foley is a bastard to teenagers, my cousin over in New York has actually met the guy via a autograph session. Mick did not respond to a single word my cousin said, all he did was sign the autograph and motion for the next fan in line to step up...Total bullshit if you ask me, maybe he needs reminding who paid for everything he owns today - THE FANS

As far as nice guys go, I hear Maven is REALLY nice and goes out of his way to sign autographs etc.

I also have heard The Undertaker is very appreciative of his long-time fans ( SUCH AS YOURS TRULY ).

This has been the Taker Mark

Met Bret in 1996 at the only autograph session Ive ever gone to. Really cool Actually saw Foley on the Belt Parkway and I happen to to have his book with me. I had my girlfriend speed up the car and I was hanging out the window holding the book like a lunatic. Mick rolled down his window to thank me for buying the book. I also met Rock and Shane and Marissa McMahon backstage at SNL. All three extremely nice.

It was a really fun time with Benoit, Saturn and RICK MARTEL~! :)

Only time I've EVER met any wrestlers was at a WCW Saturday Night taping down here back in 91.

I got to meet Steve Austin(this was right before he won the TV Title), Arn Anderson, Larry Zybsyko, Abdullah the Butcher, The Steiners, Bobby Eaton, and someone else who's name escapes me at the moment.

Austin was shy as hell, but he was nice to me. Arn was ultra cool, though. He was talking normally and everything, then he went into rat bastard heel Arn mode and scared the shit outta me(I was like 11 at the time). I even got to hold the WCW Tag Titles, too!

I can only go based on who I've met, but Foley and The Iron Sheik are very cool! Yes, The Iron Sheik. You can't understand a thing he says, but he's nice as hell. On the women's side of things, Malia Hosaka and Dawn Marie are also very nice. Want me to relay that Dawn Marie story, Flyboy? :P

I've heard mixed reviews about Goldust, but he was nice when I met him.

Kurt Angle is one of the coolest down to earth celebrities ive ever met. Hundreds of people in line to meet him, on a Holiday. But still took time to have a long conversation with me (and told me he was dropping the US title that night in Boston). Couldnt believe i was a Steelers fan in Boston either

from hearsay, i'd have to say owen. i never heard a single ill word about him, even when he was alive, & he's by far the wrestler i would've liked to meet the most.

Coolest ones I've met have to be Sting (we talked to him before the card, asked him for a pic, he offered to go get dressed early to take the pic, but we felt bad, so it's only a pic of Steve Borden, lol), Shane Helms, Evan Karagias, Crowbar and David Flair.

The only time was at the house show I went to in November 2001, and Big Show stepped out of his Escalade and signed autographs for like 15 minutes and posed for pictures (wasn't even a session, he just did it) Everyone else, even the Hardy Boys (!), pulled the "let me put my gear in the arena and I'll come back out" card, and of course they didn't <_<

I've told this before, but its the only story I have. After a Saturday Night WCW taping, we went to the back early so that security wouldn't stop us from passing the little wood blocking later (most people back there had the little tags). I was looking around for some wrestlers (I was like 9 or 10), and right behind me was Eddy Guerrero!~ putting his stuff into the trunk of a rent-a-car. I asked him for a picture, and he awesomely said "yes". He posed twice, and playfully chuckled when my mom messed up a third picture. I thanked him and he got into the back. It was a funny situation, because Jericho was still pretty new and was sitting in the front seat, and looked out the window like he was embarassed. He may have been hoping I'd go crazy when I saw him. (LOL) Dean Malenko was driving, and Chavo was in the back jumping around like a little kid. Virgil/Vincent was driving alone, and was pulling out and my mom waved to him and he nearly swerved and wrecked into a parked ring truck. Haha. The luchadores were packed in a van (minus Rey I think), and my mom said hi, and Psychosis apparently flipped her off when she turned around (so says my dad.)

So good - Eddy, Vincent (haha)

Bad- Psychosis

Edge, He seems to be a real easygoing guy, and when I went to a recent house show that came by here, he was like one of the few guys that actually came where the fans were and signed a lot of autographs for us all, there was way too many people in my way so unfortunally I couldnt get one, but I did get a picture so it was cool

Nicest guys:

Mikey Whipwreck - Met him at an ISPW show two years ago. He sat in the bleachers with me and my friend for three matches and he was really cool and took pics and chatted for a bit with us. I was kinda shy to talk, but him and my friend talked up a storm. It was pretty neat.

Foley- Met him at a book signing when he put out his XMas book. Great guy, took a picture with me, shook my hand, even though the evil bookstore management suggested that he didn't.

Kevin Nash- Met him in 95 at Continental Arena before a house show. He let me hold the WWF Belt and I got a picture with him. Talked to my dad for a minute or two as my dad was telling him how shocked I was that I really was meeting my hero (LOL I was 12 at the time, what did I know?). He seemed really nice.

Haku - Met him at Axxess. He was relieved when I told him I actually knew him as Haku and not Meng from WCW. I had him sign the pic of him giving Smash of Demolition a backbreaker in the Wrestlemania program. Posed for a pic with me, and gave me a Tongan Death Grip :-)

Dicks:

K-Kwik - Didn't say a word to me at Axxess. Signed the program and just moved the line along.

Bubba Ray- Saw him at an Ozzy concert last winter. I saw him and said "Bubba!!" and he looked over and gave me the finger and told me he wasn't signing anything. Dick.

Brian Christopher - Hands down, the rudest person I have ever met. He wouldn't sign a shirt for a mentally handicapped kid in a wheelchair who had a shirt signed with at least 100 signatures. Said they didn't pay him enough for signing shirts, only posters and programs. When he was about to sign mine, he said to me, "Aren't you a little old to be sucking up to me for an autograph?" I took my poster and told him to fuck off. Asshole.

I met Roddy Piper at a comedy club the nite before WM 7 in LA. He was extremely nice to me.

Ive seen Ivory get out of her car before a show and walk unsolicated up to fans and start conversations with them.

Foley mentioned in his book that Bobby Eaton was the nicest guy in the biz.

Nice guys:

Tommy Dreamer: Met at an autograph signing put on by RFVideo @ the Emerald Mall in North Attleboro, MA. He signed my miniature ECW World title, strapped it around his wrist, made a joke that he could be "macking" with this thing, joked that the amount of time that he was holding it now, was longer than he held it when he won it. He was a very nice, sincere man, and one of the nicest I've ever met.

Kurt Angle: Me and my buddies skipped school and drove to WWFNY for the Kurt Angle book signing. Tremendously nice guy, laughing, joking, signing EVERYTHING, including my Chris Benoit tshirt.

Chris Benoit: I was just in awe of him. I met him after a WCW show, he shook my hand, posed for a picture, and signed my program. Another nice guy.

Bill Alphonso: Same signing as Dreamer. Gave me a "Thanks for coming out, Daddy", posed for a pic, signed my RVD picture and just joked a little. Great guy

Dicks:

Brian Christopher was a goddamn asshole at a signing I went to. Only accepted programs/pictures. No tshirts, or anything else. Didn't say a word to me except "Move along" when I asked him why he wasn't talking. I wanted to ask him why his father loves 12 year olds, but that would've got me my ass kicked.
