Nicest wrestler in the business?

Recommended Posts

Guest Grenouille

Kurt Angle was cool and seemed genuinely appreciative about the fans caring about him.

Bret Hart was very cold and didn't seem to be in good mood. It was a card show in a small town in Maine with about 15 people there and I was the only person that went up to him during my 30 minutes there.

I briefly worked as a reporter for my local newspaper and interviewed Jake the Snake Roberts. He was nice AND sober. I did my interview stuff in about ten minutes and then we talked for like an hour afterwards. Just about his career and wrestling and we discussed the philosophy of being a midget (there was midget wrestling on the same card). The local tv station was also there for an interview and he was a dick to that guy, but the dude (named Gauge Storm, no shit) was a moron. His first question was "is wrestling fake" and then he asked Jake to put him in a headlock to which Jake responded "I don't mess around with that stuff, if you want me to straight kick your ass though, I can do that." Jake seemed to be all about respect and he could tell that I was a serious fan, even though I did my best not to mark out on him.

Woah, what town was it in and who else was on the card? (I probably could have saw that show if I wanted to)

Brian Christopher was a goddamn asshole at a signing I went to. Only accepted programs/pictures. No tshirts, or anything else. Didn't say a word to me except "Move along" when I asked him why he wasn't talking. I wanted to ask him why his father loves 12 year olds, but that would've got me my ass kicked.

I have heard many asshole things about Christopher

"Twice the asshole as his old man and not half the talent."-Justin Credible

Me and Slingshot suplex were going to get that pic of the cat licking some guys dick and take it to a BCW show he was at...we were going to leave it on the gimmick table with "Brian" on it and on the pic write something like "Is that your dick your step-mommy's licking?"

I think we ended up not going to the show though

It was in Saco in '98. It wasn't a wrestling card, it was a card convention.

I met Bret Hart at an indy show last year. He was an hour late, but when he did the signing he was nice to everyone.

He even cracked a joke to me, which I thought was really cool, especially because I was in full-on gape-jawed mark mode (something I'm still a little embarassed about.)

Was he the only wrestler there?

Heck, I just saw Bret this past Saturday at the Jacques Rougeau show!!!

Poor Bret, he looked terrible but it was very nice of him to keep his promise (showing up at the show) to Rougeau even after his accident.

He needed help to get in and out of the ring as well as walking down the aisle :(

He was crying in the end because of the genuine warm reception he received.

When he gets better, hopefully he'll come back to another Rougeau Show...they're not half bad! Very entertaining!

The pic was going to be in a envelope with Brian's name on it and slipped onto the gimmick table.Weren't we somehow going to frame Nova?

I think we were going to rush in and hand it to Nova...or set it down by Nova and he would have delivered it...

Sadly it never came to be

I heard that Kevin Kelly was an ass. What does Kevin f'n Kelly have to be an asshole about?

Bubba Ray is notorious for being an asshole, btw. I've read tons of these kinds of threads and everyone who meets the guy comes away with a negative feeling.

I looked at that whole show as a positive for Bret. He was back in public and the ovation for bret was exactly what he deserved from the crowd. Hopefully he's still on his way to a full recovery.

One thing to keep in mind is sometimes people are having a bad day or you ask for an autograph at inappropriate time.

Jim Brunzell lives in the same city has me. Don't remember meeting him, but it could of happened at a young age. We "go" to the same Church.

You also have to remember that these guys are most likely on their way to work or returning from work and I know that I'm not too happy and friendly during those times.
